OT: Small Favor

Re: OT: Small Favor
<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">It didn't play from Mozilla (Mozilla decided they were text files, apparently), but from Explorer they played just fine; good technical quality (the second starts out with a series of still shots - but that is apparently deliberate), but the didn't hold my interest long enough for me to let them finish.

Re: OT: Small Favor
Thanks Jack. They are more for those who ride with us than the general public. I wanted to be sure they worked before I sent out the Emails to all of the links.

Re: OT: Small Favor
Worked on my MS system. Downloaded at a little more than twice the play speed. It looks good. I did notice some of the fast zooms on the first one were more pixalated than would be ideal, plus the cuts showed this, but it was a product of the compression I suspect. Sound was fine as well.

Re: OT: Small Favor
Very cool. It came across fine for me too, but I don't know how big the files are to tell you... my bandwidth at work is limited, but it had no problems. WinXP, MSIE 6.0, WMP 9.0
From the minute or two I watched of each, you guys are already doing better than Ozzy Osbourne when he got injured on one of those. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif Did you do that nifty intro for the first? zen |
Re: OT: Small Favor
I should have used a better compression program. I should have used the Windows media Encoder.
Thanks guys. |
Re: OT: Small Favor
seemed to work fine on mine...

Re: OT: Small Favor
Thanks.
I forget that most computer people do not like the sport so please forgive me for asking you to endure watching it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif I appreciate all the input. I can now send out the emails. |
Re: OT: Small Favor
Look into using Xvid compression for movie files. It is one of the better compression formats out there, better than Windows media. And it is 100% free.

Thanks Fyron.

Re: OT: Small Favor
Those dunes look alot like the Oregon coast that I road on. I've road those before. Fun stuff.

Re: OT: Small Favor
All of that footage is from two trips to Sand Lake, north of the Oregon Dunes by about 100 miles.
Sand Lake is just a good place for a day trip or an overnighter. The Oregon Dunes, Winchester Bay, Coos Bay, and Horsefalls are in a word, breathtaking compared to Sand Lake. Sand Lake is about 10 sqaure miles at best, while just Horsefalls is between to 80 and 120 sqaure miles. |
