Next summer? If I can wait that long for the Last Star Wars movie, I guess I can wait that long for SEV.

Oh No!!!

This will mean I'll have to significantly cut back on my "Dominions II" playing time.

Star Wars III Lucas Should Be Shot

Episode III

After writing the two worst movies ever made, the Great Galatic Emperor himself, George Lucas, has embarked upon what could be the worst move in the history of cinima.

Ravaged by stupidity and compelling urge to do even worse evil than he did with Attack Of The Clones, the Great God Emperor himself, Gerorge Lucas, has embarcked upon his final journey to totally ruin what respect the Star Wars Saga has.

Ignoring the pleas of the fans and those closest to him George Lucas has written, and is now filming the worst Star Wars Disaster since Phantom Menance. My The Force be with us, were going to need it.

Re: Interesting news.....SE V

Yeah, that sounds about right. Not sure how the plot could be any different then that since it's all leading up to the previously known facts of Episode IV. In fact, it's not really much of a spoiler. Most of this would be fairly evident to anyone that had seen the 5 movies that have been out so far. Episode III pretty much writes itself. I and II were just backstory getting things up to this point.

Curious, why would someone send people to bluenews.com to get info about SE5 that is posted at http://www.malfador.com/whatsnew.html? Strange, very strange. Why not send them direct?

Very strange indeed.

Cheers! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Because he was telling us that this web site is in touch with real TBS games, as well as the load of filth they also have news about (Civ 3 anyone? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif )?

Re: Interesting news.....SE V

Atroticites, it's interesting on your misspelling of Obi-Wan's name. I read something years ago, sometime right after Star Wars and everyone was speculating on anything relating to SW, that Obi-Wan's name could have meant he was a clone, thus Obi-One, or maybe it was spelled OB1. I don't recall the article now, since it's been about 25 years ago since I read it. I may still have that magazine in my parent's house, but lord knows where it is. I wish I could remember more of it, since it was an interesting article. It could have been something in Starlog, since that was my main source of info back then. We'll just have to wait until next May to see how bad Lucas has screwed up his franchise. I hope it's better than Phantom Menace, and let's hope Jar-Jar dies a horrifying death.

Re: Interesting news.....SE V

Better yet, have him write it, then give it to a REAL writer and that guy / gal rewrite it. Alas that won't happen as Lucas has already began production on the movie.

SPIOLER!

This may or may not be accurate info. Take with some measure of skeptisim.

Phantom Menace was all about Palpitine becoming Chancellor. He enginered the situation to garner support for his bid to become the new chancelor. It worked.

Attack of the Clones (Horrible name) was all about Palpatine being granted special powers to form an army. An army that he had already ordered constructed.

The new movie will be about Palpatine destroying the Jedi by using the Death of Anakins wife against them. He will convince Anakin that it was Obi-One and the Jedi who were responsible for her death and not the Sith. He will turn on them, and Palpatine will declair the Jedi Order a criminal organization responsible for manufacturing the Clone army and conducting subversive activities.

In the end Anakin and Obi - One fight and Anakin is nearly killed when he falls into a lava pit. Burned beyond recognition he build himself the vader suit. Obi-One then takes the children and hides Lea with (Jimmy Smitts character ? Organa)from Alderaan, and Luck with his uncle Owen.

Working title for the movie is The Fall of The Jedi.

Again please take this with a grain of salt. You all know how the rumor mill works. Although this source was correct for the most part on the previous movies, and about Nemesis, it could be wrong here. We won't know until next summer.

thread jacking dogs!

Did you guys catch that MM says there will definitly be an unlimited tech tree? Thats so great! Unlimited research possiblities! no hitting a tech ceiling!

in SE4, there was a definite advantage to taking combat bonuses. always, in every situation. unless you had a talisman, and then defense bonuses were still good. Now in SE5, you could pump all the extra points into research and so long as you had the time to develop, you could potentially come out and wipe the floor of the toughest empire with your technological advantages.

it also will create the possiblity for an arms race that continues into the late game. instead of getting to an acceptable level of quality and then just pumping out quantity, there will be a continual need to research and retrofit ships!

im so giddy.

Re: Interesting news.....SE V

Funny thing is, I guess when you get too high up in the tech tree, the weapons start looking like something out of the Roman Empire... how would YOU like to design ships with Anti-Proton Beam MCMLXII's, even if they do 32,768 damage at 256 range? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif

(Or would that be xxxMMDCCLXVIII damage at CCLVI range??? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/shock.gif )

Re: Interesting news.....SE V

I think you'll just reach a point where Star Destroying / System Destroying weapons will be as commonplace as APBs, and as easily reproduceable.

Now, if only Malfador will imput a Temporal Weapon that'll undo the effects of a Star / System destroying weapon (effectively rolling back the turn without affecting anyone else), then you'll start to really see some interesting tactics...

Geez, with the reaction every time a female does reveal herself to be not-male on this board, it's no wonder that any that stop by keep it a secret http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/rolleyes.gif

Back on topic... SEV: I want. Then, after I get that, I want time to actually PLAY it.
