Infinate Bad Luck...

somewhere in an alternate univers an alternate 'me' must have broken 13 mirrors or something.

a copple of weeks ago the little clips holding the heatsink/fan onto my abit IC7-G mobo came loose (dont ask me how, they just did bad solder maybe? or maybe the fan was unbalanced?)
anyway, I sent the mobo back to where it came from (unfortunaly half way donw the contry - they had the best price and largest range at the time)
and they sent me a new IC7-G (YIPPY!!!) so I stuck the whole thing back to gether (and had fun lapping the cpu heatsink at teh same time - and had my uncle laugh at me since I wasint overclocking it) and it worked great for a week (YAY!!)
then, it just shut down.
wouldent boot.
fans didnt even turn
nada, zip, nogo.

so I took it to the local pc co who I deal with ocasionly (not as cheap as down south and dont have such a large range) and got them to test it.
guess what?
it was the ****** mobo!
they tested everything elce, all seems to be working fine, psu (which we suspected may have caused the problem) was fine also.
so consequently I have to send my mobo back down contry again, *sigh* annother 2 weeks withought my kickass system.

like I said, my alturnate me must have done some prety heafty damage to some mirrors which included the number thirteen (or something)
seriosly though, Im not superstisios. but you gota wonder sometimes heh.
I think ill go mad
you know what???
I BET you that valve will release HL2 to top the whole thing off.
*sigh*

well at least Iv still got 3 pcs that will run seIV http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Ok, you got me what is a Mobo?

And if you think your luck is bad, I just discovered that my truck has had no less than 14 recalls since 1996 and many of the issues for which it has been taken into service for are on the recall list. Yet they found no problems and guess what the problems still exsist and I can do nothing but eat *hit.

DO NOT BUY NISSAN! They honor nothing.

I would reccommend to anybody with 50 bucks to spend to get an old klunker. Toss win98 on if they don't have it already, and they're plenty good enough for SE4.

I recently got such a laptop for $60 Canadian, bringing the total of SE4-worthy computers in my house back up to 6. Only 3 actually have it installed, and one dosen't have windows installed yet, but that's OK.

here's one for ya: I built two identical computers 6 months apart. one for me, one for my sister. These are decent computers... AMD XP 2100's + 512MB RAM + 80GB HDs + ATi 8500LE (128MB Version). The funny thing is that both motherBoards that were used had (and mine still has) faulty capacitors. My sister had hers replaced a while ago, but I haven't. I am unable to shut down my computer, fearing that it will never come back on again!
I'm RMAing my mobo this summer though http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">That's why I do not recommend letting cheapest price be the one and only deciding factor. Someone nearer to you with better service might have saved you a lot. Remember, there is always something that a shop can make worse and let have less quality in order to decrease his price, and buying cheapest only will not guarantee you best value for your money.

actualy Roanon, they have a fairly good service and are a verry profesional compony, its just that they are a little far away http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif
at the time I was buying, I dont think the local shop was selling the IC7-G (which I had desided on at the time) and didnt have ddr400 eather, which was as much a desiding factor as the price.
but yea, next time I may try twist the local shops arm into trying to get what I am after.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Thanks Tesco but they turned me down. It was most discouraging to say the least. I love my truck, it is a great vehicle and I can live with the defects so long as they don't kill me.

I have already paid for the repair work on the breaks and steering out of pocket because the dealerships service department said there were no problems yet... Les Schwab found them and showed them to me. All that info was sent to Nissan recently and still no help. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif

Nissan makes some nice vehicles and I would buy another one in a heart beat, but like with any business, if they don't have to pay they won't.
