Modding's not enough, now I need to begin my own shipset as well http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/rolleyes.gif
The meager beginning of what *might* turn out a complete set (notice the emphasis on *might*, it's not high on my to-do list), a medium fighter. I just did it this afternoon, and just slapped a texture and background on it, of which I'm fully aware they aren't any good (although, for 128*128 it might even suffice http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif - oh, and no, it will not be US when it's done anymore http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif ), just thought it would be better with a bad texture than without one http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Hmmm... Shofixti from Star Control? I can see the bomb pod on the right-hand side of the ship! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif If I'm right, BTW, Megagun will be quite excited as he's been insisting everyone in the SC game on PBW have a proper SC shipset...

Promising.... But you'll see making a complete shipset is lots of work. Hold on !

The design look like a rusty F-117, don't you think ?

Nice texture and shape, but I have a comment.

I know about that, I'm still using the same lighting used for the scout because I don't feel like changing it every time. In stead, I just wait until I have all ship models and THEN work out a decent lighting I can use for every ship http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Phaw, a lot of work?? I usd to knock shipsets out over weekends!

Nice kinda colouring/style on the shipset.

Your fleet is facing the wrong way though? Trying to be different eh?? Well, it won't work so well. The portraits need to facing inwards from the right side of the screen in teh majority of cases, it just looks better that way.. ok?

Erm, and try and put some effort into making different ships look structurily different. I can quite blantantly see you've taken the smaller fighter, and added some stuff to it, then added some more for the large fighter. You should at least scale the frame slightly so the small fighter 'looks' smaller then the large fighter. Maybe extend the cockpit out, or add wings, just make it look different!

Texturing, the lighting seems a bit odd, kinda flat, for some reason I keep thinking the models are upside down. Maybe bring the camera in closer and use a wider angle lens, you'll get a bit more perspective on the image then.

Go on, aim to make a new shipset! No matter how long it takes you. =)
