OT: Something I Haven\'t Done

I did something tonight that I have not done in a good long time. I played Tribes all night. Well most of it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif I feel good. To bad the servers were all empty. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif Most sad. Perhaps more people will play now that the game is free.

I've never made love to Elisha Cuthbert, but I'd like to.

Oh it's free now? And where do you download it? And how large a download is it?

Correction: it WAS free. They let you download it, but they had a limited number of CD-keys and those are all gone. They say they'll be giving more out later though http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/rolleyes.gif

Just pick up Junes issue of Computer Gaming World and they are on the CD along with the 1.11 patch for Tribes 1.

Also if you happen to get these games you will most assuredly want the Presto Pack, New Options, and Dox maps for Tribes 1. (Poop pack 1.02 is the best to get all the better scripts.)

Tribes 2 is ok as is but you can pick up many extras from www.tribalwar.com or www.Planettribes.com Both have extensive file archieves.

She's the lead actress in The Girl Next Door.

Something I haven't done? My biggest regret from my years in living in Arizona was that I never made it up to the Grand Canyon. One of these days I'd like to go back and see it.

So if this is multiplayer only, who am I going to play against?

I could be persuaded to make a bit of time this weekend.

Edit: btw is Starsiege Tribes what you are calling Tribes 1? Tribes 2 is self evident.

Re: OT: Something I Haven\'t Done

I hate when I have trouble completing training missions. I'm stuck on the CTF training mission. those nasty turrets are making minced meat out of me. I have no idea how to destroy them, I've emptied some 15 disc rounds on a single turet (while it's shooting at me) and not so much as a dent.

if I approach at full speed (in light armor) I can get close to the flag, but I'm always cut down a few feet from the flag. How I'm supposed to get in AND out again looks like an impossible task.

I'm beginning to regret buying the CGW mag. Mind you I have only played it a bit so far, but traininging missions should not be impossible.

sorry for sounding off, but this sucks.

Chose a heavy with a motar and then go after them. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Also a scout is faster than the turret and if you can ski. (hit jump as you move down a hill then at the bottom hit jet pack, will send you way up or way out.) Look to www.tribalwar.com or www.planettribes.com for tips and pointers. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Also the bLaster at close range will take out a turret, but you have to be right up on it.
