A mythological warrior of evil with unbeatable powers and a wicked desire to kill all the stupid people that infest the realm. I would ride a huge black horse named Armagedon, and command fear where ever I went. I would have a flying dragon named Apoloclips, and together we would rule the weaker beings of the realm or burn them into oblivion.

I'd aim to be the ancient and unfathomably wise yet strangely eccentric immortal mystic Yoda type character. In fact, what I'd probably end up as is some geek in a cave pretending to be an ancient and unfathomably wise yet strangely eccentric immortal mystic Yoda type character- Which is far more fun anyway, because you get to leave the cave on weekends and have a bit of a life, and you can still claim all the "cryptic hermit oracle" tax benefits.

I would have all the caves filled with a nerve type gas and then sealed for all time. I would place demon warriors to gaurd all the sealed cave entrances and have my minions partrolling the mountains searching for any who dare defy my command that caves are off limits.

Most propably the dark knight who captures a beautiful women, slays the good hero and marries her. That or a evil necromancers who turns entire villages into mindless servants.

I'd be a low level talk-work Rogue.

Or maybe a low level talk-work Bard, as the class skills are similar and the Bardic Knowlege thing fits my odd collection of trivia. I wouldn't be a very good Bard, as I have not put a lot of points in Perform.

D&D 3.5, of course.

I was never the one for wizards and other sissy types. I'd be a barbarian, a real warrior. Not one of those who strut around in a tin suit all day to protect themselves from the tiniest scratches. I love my battle scars, and would be willing to show the lady folks all of them.

I would be that little annoying evil guy. The one who back stabs to win. The one who says "I will stop my evil ways!" and when you look back KNIFE in the back. Don't these guys weigh about 110 pounds with pale skin and hunches a little bit? Yeh. I would be one of those. I also want invisablity and be able to fly.

Some sort of spellcaster, Necromancer preferably. It's a ideal career for a lazy guy, who like other people(zombies!) to do all the dirty job.
Chaos Wizard can be an option, since Spells of Mass Destruction are so spectacular.

I would most likely be a necromancer (original, I know). Not to have a mindless horde with with to crush my hated foes (though that may come in time) but to experiment with, refine, and perfect various undad forms, finding a suitable vessel with wich to trancend the mortal coil of my birth and finally be free of the meddling clutches of the so-called "gods".

I would share my trancendant nature (and those of the refined forms that were not chosen) with those I find worthy of eternity and those of boundless ambition, some at their behest while others would be denied the choice. This I would do to shape the world. To see mortal reject (or in some rare cases accept) immortal, immortal enslave mortal, and gods atempt to smite both for their wickedness. I would watch as the world bathed itself in blood and dust, stepping in only to cull the extremists of either side. Then, when the blood had dried and the dust had settled, when the wars of dominance and ignorance had ended, with niether side the clear victor, the mortal races would be left with a choice that had not previously existed. From that day forward they will be able to determine the result of their own mortality. They will no longer be limited to salvation and damnation, but instead may remain in the world of their birth. The followers of the gods would be comprised of only those who truly seek an existance in the next world, to serve a being that they see as greater than themselves. The gods would have to earn their worshipers, for mortals would never again have to truly fear what comes after.

Such would be my vision. Such would be my goal.

Spoon: and also, prefferably, without turning into a ghost at the end of the series. You don't want to forget that aspect.

As for the topic....

I once wrote up a 10,000 point GURPS character, just for laughs - it could even go toe-to-toe indefiniately with Atrocity's character - and ruin his empire in the process. Let's see him run an empire when all of his lieutenants (or their lieutenants, or their lieutenant's lieutenants, or ...) suddenly discover they can't even remember what a name is, much less their own. Or when the replacement set is simultaneously telecontrolled to the point where they give orders to dismantle the empire. Or when their replacements suddenly "remember" that they have all been planning to assasinate the emporer, today, unanimously, with the full cooperation and support of all bodygaurds, and everyone involved in all the "safety measures". Or when someone who looks, sounds, and acts just like the emporer himself (down to retinal scans, fingerprints, and DNA - and has all the passcodes needed to order the lieutanants to do stuff) starts giving orders that contradict other orders (to the replacements for the previous set of lieutenants, of course). Or when throwing the "infected" galaxy (with my 10,000 point GURPS character on it) into a black hole / temporal vacule / alternate dimension / distant time (or all at once) doesn't help one iota.

The problem with an evil empire is that not everyone can be virtually invulnerable and all-powerful (if they were, there couldn't be any rule-by-force-and-fear (and hence, no "evil" in the evil empire), now could there?) - and nobody can be everywhere at once; in order to rule in an "evil" fashion, there must be those of lesser stature who will follow orders, yet who still have a goodly chunk of power under their command sufficient to follow out those orders - and theirin lies the weakness of an empire against an individual built to make empire obsolete.
