You guessed it, it is time for another season of fantasy football! I will be creating the league soon and I wanted to let everyone know about it. The season of course does not start until September 9th but sign ups can begin now.

Before I create the league I need a creative name for it. Any ideas? Preferably SEIV related. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif Last year was the Shrapnel Forum Misfits or something along those lines but I am sure with the creative minds here we can think up something more cleaver.

I would love to see a turnout better then Last year. Perhaps having more of a notice this year will help out. I will post here again when I have the league set up and I will post the official name for you to join.

I set the draft date to Wednesday August 25th at 1:30 PM est. But this can be changed and probably will be changed to what fits everyones needs.

Again, that can be changed as well so please offer suggestions.

However, may I suggest that we have a more simple scoring system this year. Last year there were too many ways to have points deducted that made it more difficult to evaluate which players to use each week. Sometimes the studs were duds due to a fumble or interception. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif

Rags, should I see if I can find a friend that would be interested in joining from outside the SEIV community? At least that way we would have enough for the league.

The other problem I see is that the mid-day draft, while not a problem for me, could be a problem for others. I don't know if it is possible to change, or if it is a real issue, but it is something to consider.

AK, we have 8 players who have said they would join, but one of them has not. I am confident that we will be able to fill a couple more slots. Perhaps you should recruit one of your friends to join in, that way just in case said player who hasn't joined yet does not do so before the start we would have an even amount of people in the league.

As for the draft date that can be changed. As I mentioned before that was just to get the league set up, I can change it to anytime that would be best for everyone involved.

Are we going to get a 10th team? The yahoo message says we can't do a draft with an odd number of teams.

Yes, we need another team. I believe, but I am not positive, that the Yahoo League will stick another team in with us if we don't find one. This will be someone from the general public just looking for an open league. It won't matter that our league is obstesably private. So it's better to get a non-Se4 person that we know then a total stranger. IMHO anyway.

I moved the draft due to a few complaints about the time. Would late Sunday evening work for everyone?

I would still love it if we could draft on Sunday....

I can not make it to the draft on Saturday. I have a prior engagment...I will allow the draft to pick automatically for me...and see what I can do with trades and waiver if I have to.

Grrr...sorry about the mess guys. I changed the draft to Sunday but evidently the changes didn't stay. It's all ok...We will just have to make some good waiver picks...and possibly some trades...but I dont' think I have enough depth for that. It will be a challege to play with what I have...I got the 5th or so rated QB, 2nd rated RB, and 2nd rated or so Defense. A good WR would have been nice...but I'll work on that with the waiver wire and such...

Only other possibliity would be to re-created and redraft but that would be to much trouble...
