Interesting challenge. I really don't have a favorite catoon character or show. I never liked cartoons.

My favourite comic charcter is Deadpool. You don't get many anti-heroes who cut people up while trying to "cut people up". I am also fond of the Joker

For Comics charaters it's a tough call for me to decide between the Phonix, Scourge and Venom (all Marvel). They all exibit the same basic personality trait of "any means nessesary".

For Cartoons, it would be Bugs Bunny. No doubt.

And for muppets, it would be Cookie Monster.

Calvin & Hobbes and schlock, already listed, are all strong contenders. However for me it just has to be Spider Jerusalem from the Transmetropolitan comics. He's brilliant, he's like a force of nature.

At the moment, somewhat sleep deprived, I favor Largo from Megatokyo. he is brash, expressive, and undaunted by inconsistancies between his view of the world and reality.

I'm not really a cartoon fan, although i quite enjoyed Hellsing and the Gundam Series.

Interesting topic, I haven't read any comics in decades. (yes I know it's sad) But when I was a kid, one of my favorite was Richie Rich. I also liked the Uncle Scrooge and also had a passion for the 'western' comics, Rawhide Kid, Cheyenne Kid, Gunfighters.. etc.

Mac, Calvin and Hobbes is my favorite comic, too. I especially like Calvin's father, he's always got a quirky explanation for the way the world works (sometimes I think he's right).

I'm watching plenty of cartoons these days with my daughter (she's four). The best of those is Sagwa, the Chinese Cat. My favorite as a youth was Speed Racer. The Mach 5 was my dream car... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon6.gif

Don't really like cartoons other than Sponge Bob. If I have a dark side it's the rabid support of mid to late 20th century British Sci-fi shows and movies. Even bad British Sci-Fi. I really miss Supermarionation shows like the early Thunderbirds.

I think also I like a lot of the Bugs Bunny and Road Runner cartoons as they too made me laugh. More so as an adult than as a child. The Simpsons is a must add as well, and then Bevis and Butthead. That episode where they changed the deep frier oil was hilarious. Not to mention the movie.

Dilbert is the classic favorite. When I moved to LA, I got hooked on Boondocks. And Strong Bad. Can't forget Strong Bad.

Based on the number of artifacts - mine is Marvin the Martian.
