Star Wars mod again
 
i got it to work kind off...i cant kill ships. to use the star wars alliance or imp tech you have to use the % mounts. ships that use the % mounts i cannot kill. anybody have any ideas? oh and except for that i love it.

ok, ships that have a component that is % of the normal size cannot be killed. they will take 100% of component damage and keep on ticking. ive tested it in the similator and its very amusing to watch a 100% destroyed ship haul butt away from the other ship. ive never used a MOD that has different ship sizes that IV Gold didnt come with so im stumped.

i couldnt load it. what Version of SP IV you have? im running 1.91 atm. im going to try to reload the mod see what happens.

Are there any components that end up with 0 hit points? 0 hit point components can never be destroyed.

man, very very frustrating. if i try to run the Version of SWII i DL it comes up with errors (using mod launcher packaged with IV Gold). so i cut and paste to cover up the portion thats buggy and i get another error. well ill keep plugging away at it. and in no way am i saying the creater made a inferior product, i love what i can see and play of the game.

well i reloaded the game (again) repatched it and now its working. like magic. now i have to find the races i erased and liked playing (rage was one). thanks for any and all assistance guys. i appreciate it and i do belive its the support you give is one of the reasons this game has such a following.

Someone should really consider re-doing those Star Wars ship models. They are in need of much repair and updating.

You need to be running Version 1.91 of SE4. A lot of modding abilities were added in various gold patches, and the SW mod undoubtedly makes use of them.

some how i had messed up originally installing 1.91. i think i had it partially updated..enough to run old stuff but not enough to run Mods right.

and man it would rock if someone would flesh out the other races/ factions with tech.

I never read how long it took to build the original, but I'm sure it took a few years. So unless the original Death Star has functioning shields, it might need to be shielded from an outside source like they did with the second one. But then again, the Rebels couldn't penetrate that shield like they could the original one. Sounds interesting. Can't wait to play it.

I am working it out right now, and I think that I can do it.

But am going on vacation in a few days, so I want to wait with the forum-discussion about my mod until I'm back (so please be patient for more info)

(but mod release is planned in 5 weeks)

i would but my skills just dont lie in this area...man i forgot what skills i have. the most i can pull off is making what i do have tech wise work...i think. mainly compairing old SE IV tech vs SWII tech facilities/components that have similar effects.

question, only the Empire seems to work completly. the Alliance and the others dont have the Colony hull nor are they able to work around the problem. how do i add that hull type to the other empires? and the empire folders in the Empire directory..what app do i use to open them?

i dont get it, ive dug through the mod and i cant find where the beginning hull types are for the different empires. only the Empire empire http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif has the Colony ship hull and its really hosin up my solo gaming!

Try Data/VehicleSize.txt under the star wars mod directory.

All shipsizes should be in there

If it wasn't shielded all around, it would be an easy target for small suicide runs.

That's not a bug, it's a feature.
Imperials have an advantage with cheaper colony ships and modules while rebels can't colonize until they get big enough hulls. This is supposed to represent the starting difference between the Empire and the Rebellion.
And Outlaws, of course are pirate-like and don't have colonization capacity of their own.

ah, didnt realize that(about the hulls). are the AIs working as they are supposed to with star wars tech? cus the couple of games ive actually played ive run into them only having solo systems. i was hoping for a rampaging Empire http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
