.99 Demo Code = Shipped Code?

Does the .99 demo accurately reflect what was shippped? There's still a few bugs that annoy me in the .99 demo, but I get the impression that the shipped Version has fixed them. Is this true? If so, will there be an updated demo?

Just read the MM homepage. There you will see that they dont abandon the game after release. There is continuued support the time till SE5. I am sure they´ll try to wipe out all inconviencies or bugs the next time.

No the 99 demo is the final thing.

However in test we are already up to Version 1.05.

Richard

Any idea how long before an update will be posted? Thanks.

That's OK! Just get the doggone game in our greedy little paws ASAP, and we will live with the bugs while you folks all take a well-deserved break to recover!

The only bug I've even heard about in v0.99 so far that would distress me any is one gamer's claim that Emissive Armor seems to be broken.

Mmmmm, Gravitron Hellbore V on a large mount, now thatsa one *spicy* meatball! http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif

Thats right, we're up to like v1.05 (I bet we'll be getting to v1.06 in a bit) so as soon as you install the full game, go get the latest update from MM (they should post it on their website I hope)

Speaking of annoying bugs, I'm in a pbem sim turn game with 7 players right now and ingames Messages don't get through so we can't sign any treaties. Now that's annoying as hell imo.

No but usually you would like to post an update when a LARGE chunk of changes have taken place.

Stay tuned.

Jub,

I think you can create treaties you just can't send Messages about them

Actualy, I have yet to actualy get a treaty in effect. When I sign an agrement from the AI, I do get trade with them. However, if I move into a square with them, combat ensues and my ships do _not_ fire back. The computer seems to stay in a state of war no matter what treaties it might have sent.

None of my offers are ever replied to.

I've played several PBEM games using turn based movement rather than simultaneous movement and have had no trouble with AI treaties including partnerships where partner system info was correctly displayed. Perhaps the issue is with si move PBEM?

Re: .99 Demo Code = Shipped Code?

I noticed the problem in every simul moves game I played. I haven't done any by email, but my friend Someone3x7 and I have played a few simul games over the network. I usualy lug my machine to his place for these weekend slugfests. Durring our simul games, no message or treaty sent by either of us was ever seen or replied to. AI offers were sometimes received, but the AI stayed aggressive even after we accepted.

One neutral empire destroyed TWELVE cruisers of mine. Sheilds V, phased polaron V, repulser beam II. Every ship destroyed, no enemy damage taken. He was useing two light cruisers with anti proton beam III.

I ran the simulator useing the exact same set up. Again and again it showed that my fleet should have wiped the AI out in nothing flat and with no losses.

I sent annother fleet, and was wiped out by a couple of fighters on the homeworld.

I built a fleet of six ships, and declared war on the AI before I entered his homeworld sector. He was wiped out, and I took no damage.

The only explination I can see is that my ships were not shooting back because we had a treaty, and that his were fireing away because he didn't know we had a treaty.

On an unrelated note, annother bug we ran into was neutral ships leaving their home sector. Sometimes their combat ships would follow a target thru a wormhole, and then procede to wipe out anything they could in the target system.

Re: .99 Demo Code = Shipped Code?

Saben,

You hit it on the head. The treaty wasn't recognized by the attackers. Theses sort of things are being fixed. (Actually most have been fixed.)
