There's a somewhat different thread in the runesword forum.. the dungeon odyssey forum doesn't have one though..

Re: Chat with Aaron Hall

Is the "C" in CRPG supposed to stand for "Computer-based"?

Akachaki October 18th, 2003 06:15 PM

Re: Chat with Aaron Hall

Yes it does. To be precise, CRPG = ComputerRolePlayingGame. This is the first time I see CRPG and I looked over the net for the meaning. I prefer to simply call them rpg.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">And to some people (pen-and-paper RPG aficionados in particular), CRPG is pronounced just how it sounds... CRAPPAGE!

But we're not like that, now are we? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">lol, I know a few people like that http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
They'd take the time to build 3-d landscapes for their figures to run around in and blow each other up, and their games would take FOREVER to set up and run. Me, I'm too lazy for that, so I'll stick with the CRPG-age http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Why build models? Imagination works better and is faster

Suicide Junkie October 30th, 2003 01:27 AM

Re: Chat with Aaron Hall

Well, ISTM that imagination is hard to show other people, in particular, the people you're RPing with.
