I will start the line. Im 18 years old from Hungary. I finished school, I own 2 pubs in the capital. [I had help from my parents to buy them.] They are making hella good money. I am 14 years old, i am from Hyvink��, Finland.
I am currently at 9th grade. I have been playing TBS strategy games ever since i was 10 or 9 years old. I am a Dominions fanatic. And yes, i do play other games than Dominions... The situation migth change after Dom II is relased... I have too much spare time. I have my own Dominions webpage and Boards.. I have 2 children (with 2nd wife), both boys, Christian Edge (age 27 months old), Jacob Paul (age 5 1/2 months).... love strat games...right now, playing Out of the Park Baseball 5, and Dominions I. Will for sure buy Dominions 2.... |

I teach and tutor college math and English, as well as dabbling in other subjects as I'm needed. I'm currently finishing up my BFA in computer animation, but will be continuing on to get an MS in applied mathematics, focusing on computer graphics. My intentions are to combine my skills and develop some educational software (what's out there right now could stand some improvement, believe me) that focuses on visual teaching and treating the students/Users with respect. I'm 16 (well, in Dec. 14th), have had DomI for a year or so, and though I have liked it I have not been playing it much with other people. And it seems that, compared to others, I have not played a lot of it even in single-player, atleast by standards of this group.
About myself, I am from Finland, studying in gymnasium. Normally I read alot but have not found interesting books lately. Just registered to this forum, but have read most postings posted. |

hi there
i'm 23, computer science student in switzerland. i am a dominions addict for more than a year now, but i only recently ordered the full game. the first computer game i played was 'dark castle' for the good ol' mac plus (if i remember right). from there i switched to the strategy genre (civilization, dune, command & conquer, warcraft, master of orion 1 & 2). besides dominions, i'm currently playing "heroes of might & magic 3" and "sid meiers alpha centauri". my favourite operating system is debian gnu/linux (www.debian.org); but now and then i prefer to boot into ETH Oberon (www.oberon.ethz.ch). besides studying, coding and gaming i play trombone and enjoy a really good time with my girlfriend. well, i guess that's it for the moment. cheers segfault. |

I love strategy/wargames (Uncommon Valor, JA2, Warlords), some RPG's (Gothic, Ultimas) and dabble in other genres occasionally (OOTP4, Sam & Max.) Ahem. I'm 30, happily married with sons aged 3.5 years and 4 months. I currently live in Corvallis, Oregon, USA where I work as a Code Troll, er, "Software Architect". I've been playing computer games since about 6, starting with Star Trek, Rogue, Empire, and Adventure. Aside from the obvious computer games, I also have a long background in role playing games, board games, war games, miniature games, card games, Larps, Muds, and Fencing. I used to play (American) Football and wrestle as well. Every once in a while I think I play too many games, but it doesn't Last. ;-) Favorite RPGs: Ars Magica, Earth Dawn, Rune Quest, Call of Cthulhu, Twilight 2300, Fading Suns. I am Belgian, 38, married, 2 daughters (7 and 4). Lawyer and technical analyst in an Italian company. Basically I'm a WW2 wargamer (able to argue for hours about the real accuracy of the M1 Bazooka using a M6A3 rocket, or the exact number of HMG used on paper by a German Volksgrenadier Company). You see what I mean...
I mostly played Squad Leader, then the Steel Panthers serie. Played AD&D when I was student. I was also hooked by Colonization in 1993 and played more and more 4X games since then (esp. EU and EU2). Wrapped up in dom1 since March 2002. Eventually I compiled on freewebz all informations I could find on usenet and other forums. |

I'm 17, and currently a college student (studying physics and mathematics) in Austin, Texas, USA.
As a college student I feel it my duty to play anything and everything..so I'd need to make a list by genre and I don't really feel like it right now unless someone really wants me to. I stumbled across Dominions by searching the Age of Wonders 2 forums for references to Master of Magic...which was great back then. I'm 25 (for another few weeks anyway), married, and finishing up a degree in psychology. I currently live in Mexico City, but I'm originally from a dinky little town in Iowa, and am about to move to the San Francisco area.
I got started gaming back in the early 80's on my dad's Apple IIe. The first game I ever played was "Artillery", but the one that really sealed my fate as a gamer was the text adventure classic "Eamon". I didn't get into strategy games until we got our first PC, but once I laid into Breach 2 I was hooked. I use a Macintosh. Unfortunately, we don't get too many decent strat games, so I was really happy to see that Dom. II will also be OS X compatible. On the Mac I play a lot of Escape Velocity: Nova, King of Dragon Pass, and Dom. I. When I get a chance to play on a PC, I go for Age of Wonders 2, Kohan: Ahriman's Gift, The War Engine, and when I have a whole lot of time to spend, SEIV Gold. Currently playing: EV: Nova Currently listening: Live: Birds of Pray, A Perfect Circle: Thirteenth Step, Nick Cave: The Boatman's Call Currently reading: An incredibly boring, enervating, and aggravating statistics textbook. Gamer since -83 (Amstrad PPC 664, gotta hate those things), C64, Amiga, PC. All-time Favorites include Archon I/II (C64), Wizard's Crown, Eternal dagger, Wing Commander -series, Freespace 2, Elite, Mechforce, but 'Master of'-series Really Has Me (well, except MoO3...). And Dominions. Oh, the sweet times spent at Mount Celeste... Been a gamer all my life, no intention to stop (except at 2AM's b/c "When are you coming to bed?" I'm 27, from Finland, and love TBS games and good FPS ones (the Thief series being absolute favorite there). Got introduced to Dominions only this summer, and got the full Version some three weeks ago. Needless to say, it kicks ***.
My other hobbies include reading, cats and role playing (favorite games DragonQuest and Star Frontiers). Edi |

Easily, it's just another hobby, same as playing soccer or icehockey or reading or whatever. I've several friends my age or several years older who still regularly play games. Interestingly, the 20+ crowd of gamers is one of the biggest markets for games, as these are the people who grew up in the late 1970s and through the 1980s and played computer games throughout their lives, and there's no reason why they would just stop all of a sudden.

I imagine most game developers play computer games and are 25+. I thought that most dominion players would be at least 20, probably older. what I find really comforting, is not to find many old timers there (I'm 35 btw), but to find also many teens or young adults playing dominions.

I was on vacation for 3 weeks, then on a road trip for 3 weeks, so I've been somewhat internet impaired. Now, with the power of my computer at my fingertips - I'm a whole person again! Heehee... it's silly, but it really feels that way. I was glad to be mostly away from computers for a month and a half, though. As a CompSci major/gamer/android, immersion in the analog world was quite refreshing! I suggest you all try it, if you haven't for a while; your life can change rather dramatically. Not to generalize, but this anyone who Posts in newsGroups will probably fall into this Category:)
-Cherry P.S. No, it's not really me... I'm, um... Uhhh... a shape-shifter? You know, DomII should have shape-shifters capable of assuming the form of any enemy unit they touch. They wouldn't gain mage powers, of course, and could only assume the form of enemies of the same size class, but would (for the battle) duplicate all the target's equipment as well. This would be a fun counter to super-combatants:) |

Let's not set expectations for anyone's english too high. English is my primary and sole language and I am going to make spelling mistakes more often then not. Plus, my big paws are not ment for the keyboard of my laptop - extra keys will be hit.
