So... hows about a little update?
Still on for going gold the 10th? Any word on when/if a demo will be available? I got a suggestion too... a really big company with marketing people would release a demo before the game.
A small company tends to keep the programmers working on the 400 things can still be improved. THEN chop out a few parts to release the demo. The problem is that when programmers make decisions they will wait till the game is done before cutting out a demo. Even worse, Illwinter has us! These forums. Unless we all shut up and stop giving such good ideas to the programmers IT WILL NEVER BE DONE ENOUGH TO DEMO. It will be... "well then things slow down enough for one of us to have some free time then we will cut a demo" (about that shut up part... About shutting up...
There has been some "funny" updates after some threads either here or in the usenet Groups... For instance, in usenet there was this thread "Suggest new magic sites" and few days later there was an update "added many new magic sites" and "new magic site ability: heal people"(someone there suggested a healing magic site). Few people here were unhappy about depixelated sprites, IW added first depix filter and later they made Dom II draw the combat sprites twice as large in order to reduce pixelation. |

The final Gold load is being tested on as we speak (I believe so, but hey there are so many things going on right now it's crazy http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif ). As soon as it is certified (which means we receive the CD and certify it) we will begin the process to testing the final Gold demo. The demo must be tested, after the game goes gold, before we'll release it to the public. At the rate things have been going I expect that we will release a demo prior to the game shipping. I can't give you an exact date as of yet.

Heh, no problem there, just glad to clear that up for you, so you can get excited about DomII multiple times...
First when they announce its gone gold Second when they announce the demo is gold Third when they put the demo up for DL Fourth when you finish DLing it Fifth when you start playing the demo Sixth when they announce that the full Version is shipping Seventh when you see that your copy has shipped Eighth when you see that your copy has arrived at your local UPS (or other) drop Ninth when you get the package Tenth when you open the package Eleventh when you insall the game Twelveth .... The final demo is being tested just a bit before release. I don't know when the release date is planned, but things are still proceeding according to schedule. I don't see why it won't be released pretty soon now, unless we suddenly find a problem.

Hang in there people...I've tested the demo, and it played just fine. But there are others who play things different in different ways that are being checked on. No one has said anything to the beta testers about dates, but the wait should be getting close to an end.
