Caelum Bug post-patch?
It seems that Caelum is now being penalized in income for cold. I noted that their starting income under order 3, prod 1 seemed very low, so I did some tests.
With cold 1, income was 174. Cold 2, 163. Cold 3, 152. Guess I won't be playing them in the Eye of Chaos game http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif |

Geez! Is THAT why I'm generating NO MONEY in the RyanzEye game? Thanks for the heads up! I though I just happened to be in the lousiest territories on the map.

Whats wrong with decreased income for Ice 3? Caelum still gets 120 points design bonus for just taking his prefered temperature.
Its more difficult to generate money in a land of ice. Even if his citizen prefer ice for well being. |

Because they have a Cold Preference of 3 in the game. They never mentioned anything about it if they intended it. And it's 70 Free points, unless you want -15% Income from all provinces except your home, then you can get 120 Points.

Ok i see. This is a bug!
While choosing Fire/Ice the help text says: Caelum prefers HEAT 3!?! With heat 3, order 3 and prod 1 you've an income of 192!!! Hope they fix this soon as possible. |

Ooops, seems lika an error introduced by the modding part. They will become cold 3 in the next patch, so don't get to attached too the heat loving caelum. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Doesn't the strength of their armor depend on how cold the province is? Or is that now related to heat scale as well?

The Armor is still the same http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif So if you want to be a Dominions 2 badass, play Caelum with Heat 3. Also make sure you have Production 3, because what would be the fun in playing Hot Caelum if you cheated and didn't use their fun, fun troops?

Why not make Hot Caelum a theme? Over time some of the fliers got more accustomed to heat (living in a volcanic territory or something) and now they really dig it. |

I'd go with a "Caelian Ice Age" theme, including polar bears and sabertooth cats. Maybe even sabertooth cherries... rowr! They'd be sacred of course.

The caelum cold fixing mod has been uploaded to
www.illwinter.com/dom2/mods.html New mods won't affect games already in progress, so this is only good for games that haven't started yet. |
