slow PBEM game request
Hi folks!
I am one of those poor gaming maniacs, who has only limited time available for his hobby. There is a job, a wife, two kids and some friends to be satisfied. Got the picture? I am looking for games scheduled to run only 2-3 turns a week. Anyone else interested? DonOlms |
Re: slow PBEM game request
I'm interested ... it could be nice for me ... I could also ask one or two people of my dom2 group if they like to join a slow game ...
write me at ligaATtreemme.org good play! Liga |
Re: slow PBEM game request
Sounds good to me too, I'm in a similar situation. Feel free to let me know should you have a slot open. Would sort of prefer to have the game windows-hosted, but whatever.

Re: slow PBEM game request
I would join too. When do we start?

Re: slow PBEM game request
I will also join. In fact, if nobody else can do it I will run the game myself.

Re: slow PBEM game request
I am all for slow games, since my other slow game is sort of stalling at the moment. The fate of slow games, it appears. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
I'll play anything but Jotunheim, Caelum and Abysia, if something's free. |

Re: slow PBEM game request
Two or three times a week sounds good, I would be interested.
May I suggest something, based upon my SEIV experience? Could we set deadlines, by which time the turns will be submitted and the turn MUST advance. Slow games tend to have more people asking for a day extra here and there and do tend to grind down to nothing. If we stick to the schedule, we will all miss a turn or two, but play will go on. Also, at two turns a week, we would do eight turns a month. Are we all available for the next six months (turn 48)? Anyone got annual leave planned where they will be unable to play? I just got back from mine Monday, so I am free for a while. Three turns a week is much harder to keep up with, but we do 12 turns a month and hit turn 48 in four months. The fewer the players, the easier it is to keep rolling, so I would argue for a fairly low number of players. Also, we may wish to discuss up front what happens to anyone who drops out and for whom we can not find a replacement. This situation can seriously imbalance a game. Is it possible to turn the AI part way through? I do not know. Any thoughts on all this? |
Re: slow PBEM game request
It is possible to switch AI on part way through, so no problems with dropouts.
I'm interested, and should be able to do turns even when I am on leave (end June/early July). Have experience of very few races though, so might be playing one for the first time ...! CC |
Re: slow PBEM game request
Is there still some place left?
If thats the case, I'm with you (well, in fact I'm against you, but never mind). |

Re: slow PBEM game request
I just reviewed my time & I do NOT think I will be able to commit my time to the game. Maybe some other time.... Thanks...

Re: slow PBEM game request
Bob, I sent you an email about joining.
here is part of it for open discussion: "If we get enough players, I think the Orania map would be good. Victory with # of provinces. I think it would be most fun, if everyone was assigned a random nation rather than his/her favorite choice =). If we do make choices, I'd like to play Caelum, Jotunheim, but anything except Mictlan (which I already play in another game) is fine with me. For hosting days I'd prefer Tuesdays, Thurdays, and Sundays." Rollo |
