Sweetback Over. Victory condition error?

as title

on turn 8 or something, a true god ascends. I don't know what the victory conditions were actually set at, but what a total waste of time.

It must have been one foreign VP or something, and ermor must have taken a whole neutral territory http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/rolleyes.gif

It does seem a bit unclear how Victory conditions work in such a game, at least as set up in Mosehansen. It wasn't clear to me what the VC were, and, in fact, it still isn't looking at the condions.

Proof positive that Ermor is over powered!!! Winning an Orania War scenario in 8 turns!

But I can only guess that you're right that Ermor claiming the lone VP province is what caused this...

Maybe this is a glitch of the command line implementation overriding stuff it's not supposed to in the scenario?

Heh! I think this is great news myself, given what befell my Pretender.

A veritable Prince of Death, his first conquest of a province was one containing 20 lizardmen. No problem, right?

Except for ... I think it was a Shaman - who cursed my Prophet, cursed my Pretender, and several others. The Prince of Death, after some turns of battle had already passed, rushed up to put some Fear of God into the nasty little lizards.

Probably because of the curse, proceeded to pick up 5 or so battle afflications almost immediately. Almost as quickly, probably because of the battle wounds, he died.

So, I think I was facing the grim prospect of a game in which my conquests had stalled (because of the need to concentrate on calling the god back from his true home (Death)), and with a supposed SC Pretender - who would return from death still cursed, still with 5 or 6 afflictions, 1 of which might've been Feebleminded. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

All hail Ermor indeed!

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Bad idea. Lizard provinces almost always have at least one shaman, and you can almost guarantee that it _will_ curse you .

Ya, those lizardmen provinces aren't something you want to play around with.

As the guy who set up the game, I can honestly say I have no idea what happened. The scenario .map file should have set the victory conditions for the game and I don't believe I mucked around with them otherwise.

I'm sorry, although I'm not sure what I'm sorry for at the moment... Anyone have any idea of why this happened?

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">All I can see is that Sweetback did have some Victory Point conditions set on the game, while the others I'm in, which are still ongoing, do not.

Re: Sweetback Over. Victory condition error?

Well, I haven't seen an Orania War game being run, so I don't know where the problem lies. I've seen plenty of Orania map, but none using the scenario. The specifications I set either a) should NOT have led to a Turn 7 victory or b) should have been overwritten by the .map file.

Weird.

(*sigh* somehow this initially went in as a report, not as a reply. Ignore that, mods. I'm having a banner day.)

Nyar. Arch, I liked your original topic name better. It was more catchy.
