Favorite artifacts

What artifacts are your Favorites to have or just make quick so your opponents can't? I think i'd go with The Chalice for healing, The soulstone of the Wolves for the free spells and summons, The Gate Stone for instant transportation, and Nethgul because he's cool.

I like the sickle whose crop is pain, (the title alone is worth it, but getting to name your death gems is even better! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon6.gif )

the Hammer of Infinite Booster forging http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

and the alchemist stone http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/blush.gif as well.

That unique robe that boosts magic paths and gives a ton of protection for no additional encumbrance (Robe of the Sorceress? Can't remember). Très chic. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Skull talisman is a good one. Every commander who would otherwise sit on his *** (especially Tien Chi generals) should have one.

Well, the chalice is a given... but aside from that Boots of Antaeus are pretty sweet... regeneration, reinvigoration and an earth magic bonus. But I think my favorite has to be The Harvest Blade... hitting an entire square, chopping legs. Great fun.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Robe of the Magi. I thought it'd be slick until I forged it dropped it on my pretender, and found the downside: it makes you horror marked!

I like Nethgul, the Pocket Knight, and Krupp's Bracers a lot. That Al Akhazim djinni you get from the lamp artifact is pretty darn cool, too:
5f/5a/3e/3s, 75HP, flying, ethereal, amphib, 100 SR, 100 FR, size 6 trmapler

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Actually, I was both right and wrong. It is the Robe of The Sorceress. The one you normally have to Wish for, unless you find and kill the special character (Satina) that has it. But, it gives +1 to Sorcery, not all magic. And, to everyone else, the subject says favourite "Artifacts." As in, only one in the world. Things like the the Corpse Candle shield and Boots of Quickness are all fine toys. But they aren't artifacts.

My absolute faves are the Boots of the Planes and the Gate Stone - instant travel ar will, no lab needed = priceless.

I also like the Aegis and the Chalice. But the absolute funniest to use is the Horror Harmonica.

The Forbidden Light. Style, power, and suicidal blaze of glory. I mean, wow. It's a chunk of the sun, the epitome of Power Man and Even God Were Not Meant to Have, and everything in the cosmos, including the Horrors, wants it. It's also one of the few items that really conveys a sense of Godlike power. "Right, men, fall in, lances at the ready, we'll just be cresting this hill here and OHSWEETPRETENDERMYEYES!"
On that same note, the Unquenched Sword. Free Heat From Hell!
The Sword of Aurgeimer is practical AND stylish, as is the Armor of Virtue(The better part thereof, apparently).
Kurgi's Gift is pretty sweet. When better targets fail to present themselves, I use it to strike at Undersea provinces which I can't actually conquer, out of sheer spite. Then I send a water mage in to claim the unoccupied land, but that's really more of an afterthought. It's the spite that counts.
Caractor, Nethgul, and both unique eyes are useful AND amazingly fun, as is Percival the Pocket Knight, though he does seem kind of sissified, considering the lower level Bottle of Living Water. Still, protection 30 is nothing to scoff at.
Last of all, the Chalice and Gate Stone are absolutely, positively indispensable.

Chalice, Soulstone, Gate Stone, Magebane, Aegis, Sun Slayer (Area DEATH), Amon Hotep, Hammers of the Forge Lord and the Cyclops are lovely.
The Soulstone is particularly nifty during storms as its one of the few ways for a non-Air-strong nation to get troops instantly to the enemy's flanks, and they're great distractions.
Armor wise, Monolith Armor is fun for a 0-enc fighter, and Asfetik's is spiffy for those that care about both high prot and MR.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">I've never understood the use of Kurgi's Gift. How exactly does it work that you can use it to clear out an underwater province?
