Illwinter, please fix this bug!

There is a bug in the game that I'm sure you're aware of but for some reason you don't get around to fixing. In almost every game I play I end up wasting gold because the game lets you buy troops at your castle even when it's under siege. In the heat of gameplay, I forget that you don't get troops at a castle under siege. Please fix this!

Do the troops dissappear from the build queue in the next turn? If not, then it isn't a bug, since there are occasions where they could have been built, and you can still remove them from the queue for a refund on the purchase price.

So what is the desired behavior? Just not to lose the gold? Or not to be able to spend it in the first place?

I ask since some players might want to be able to order recruitment that will take place if they win back the province the next turn. I agree they surely don't want to lose the gold, though.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">IIRC, national troop recruitment occurs before combat, so it would never work. All troop types should be greyed out when you're under siege, IMHO.

This bug has been around since before patch 2.06, and has been reported numerous times in various threads, and IW knows about it. That said, and caveat emptor aside, it really is past due for being fixed. Perhaps because the bug is so easily avoided (just by remembering not to recruit during seiges) IW has devoted their attention to more serious bugs and game tweaks.

Are you sure you loose the gold? I was quite confident the troops were removed from the queue and you got your gold back. I suppose I'll better take a look.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Although it's a while since I tried this, I think there is also a problem with overspending your resources.

While you're there, perhaps you could try recruiting just a commander, whose resource cost exceeds that supplied by the province (I don't think he'll ever be recruited).

Its even worse: I cant remember exactly (and it was under v2.08) but I recall that I could loose money without even hosting! I guess it went somehow like that:
If you click on troops during siege you pay for the queue. If exit recruitment and return to it later, the queue is reset and the money is lost. Had to start my turn over again to avoid that turn without money, so since I noticed it wasnt a problem at all. (I'm not sure whether i reset the queue manually - but iterating the process ended me up with ~10gold, while I was supposed to have ~400 at the beginning. No Mercs, no buildings - and no troops)

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">He will be, but it will take more than one turn to recruit him. This will also screw up the resources-used display on subsequent turns.

Example:
You hire 8 units costing 16 resources apiece and two units costing 34 resources apiece in a province with 98 resources. After the first turn, you will receive 6 of the 16-R units. After the end of the second turn, you will receive the rest of the units you ordered (196 resources total). This will occur in spite of the fact that at start of the second turn, the resource display is incorrect, showing -2 resources used.
