How about xenomorphs-aka the black slimey things from the movie Alien?

Just find a way to NOT make them too strong because they are heh.

Surely they breed at exactly the same speed as whatever they are using for hosts ?

So in the case of beast X which breeds at Y speed the alien Z would breed at an initial rate X * Z then at a reduced rate of X * Y until eventually all you had left were Z.

At that point. Z will go something like 'oh'

and X won't be doing much of anything and it certainly won't be getting up to any of the fun that precludes Y.

Id rather see Xenomorphs addes to Space Empires IV (another very moddable game available here).
But then I also cring when I see that the SEIV people are bored enough to start modding fantasy races for that game. *sigh*

Considering how fierce and tottally excellent face huggers and aliens are, its probably a good job that we do have a strong god such as His Divine Majesty Arnold protecting us.

I think I will mod a pretender up, called simply

'The Arnold'

ok, so what would he have......

All the survivals, swamp, forest, mountain, waste.

He's tottally stealthy (see predator)

Hes tottally ruthless and badass (Commando, and he would say, 'Alien Queen, I'll Kill you Laaast')

he would have ultimate Awe, a mortal could never dream of assaulting him (See Twins)

He would have a low leadership because he only ever leads elite units of total badasses (predator again)

His statistics would be like Soo ! Awesome ! because hes so larger than life (see everything hes done)

Hes tottally immortal as he will always 'be back'

Ok, Magics..Death, because you never cross him and live..

What else ? comments welcome.

Maybe the Aliens from "ALIENS" aren't that fitting for DOM, but a "magic bugs race" (StarShip Troopers ?) may be quite interesting:

Hive mentalitiy: new pretender

no/few magics, but lots of innate abilities and lots of different critters, and maybe even auto-recruitment.

Or, to get rid of the not really theme-fitting gold economy, give some of their Queens orders to actually breed new, upkeep-free units.

Definitly something to think about ...

I meant this thread as a joke because so many people put "READ THIS!" in the title of their threads, but thinking about it seriously.... it would be a nice addition. I dont think the graphics would be that hard.... slight modifications to alot of the existing graphics would do it, you wouldnt need that many new ones.

I have to say, It would be excedingly hard not to make them too too hard, being as they are SO hard. I mean, damn, there Xenomorphs....can anyone possibly say what they think might be harder than a Xenomorph ? except for possibly another larger and harder Xenomorph ?

I for one have no clue.

But I accept with total conviction that were I to come face to face with a Xenomorph, it would be harder than me.

personally speaking, I was taking the piss. Its a terrible idea, Dominions is a fantasy based strategy game not a film conVersion which are universally ****e.

I draw my veve from Lovecraft, Moorcock, Howard and any number of other older school writers.

perhaps they should be unique summons which are very expensive .
but all in all i am no big fan of the alien series .

hmm, so the Predator is harder than the Alien...accepted...

Arnold Schwarzenneger (sp?) is harder than the Predator...so lemme map this out....

Premise 1 - The predator can completely beat an alien.

Premise 2 - Mr Schwarzenneger can completely beat a Predator.

Conclusion - Therefore Arnie is harder than BOTH a predator and an alien.

Looks valid and sound to me.

The devil wasnt part of our initial enquiry and so cannot be placed into the logic of that argument...but how about his.

god beat the devil sometime during the 'biblical period'

Arnie also beat the devil in the end of days...

So !

Premise 1 - God is more powerfuil than the devil..

Premise 2 - Arnie is also more powerful than the devil

Conclusion - Arnie is probably as powerful if not more than God..

Or we could spice up the validity somewhat with a supressed premise

Premise 3 - It requires a God to beat the devil.

Conclusion 2 - Arnie could be a God.

Yeah, that could work.
