Registration Date

You know, despite what it says about the date I registared, I can clearly recall making Posts before then. I thought for sure I was making Posts in Novemeber, the month the game was actually released, and I do remember being a bit bent about the delay of the game release, and the cost of shipping.

Yet my offical registration date is 12-18-00.

All is good, I got my game, it was great, and I was a happy bugger for many months. Then talk of gold started to surface and this place exploded with in a frenzy of activity as every one worked to get their projects included on the new Gold Game CD.

SEIV Gold was literally the best money I have ever spent on a game, even beating out Tribes. (And trust me, that was hard)

Well I guess it really does not matter when I registered, most likely my faulty memory, but still it game me something to post about and that makes me happy. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Are the member numbers just for this forum? Or the whole board?

http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif the member numbers mean nothing unless your searching for something. Just make sure you now have the members new number.

At first I thought you had forgotten your name changes of the past. You were 'PCP Atrocities' originally. The old name used to be searchable in the member records but I bet now it is not.

But yes, when I check my own profile I see that my member number has changed, too. I was #295 and now I'm #291. So I guess they removed invalid/inactive accounts when they did the conVersion and that bumped all of us up a bit.

Actually, the search now takes user names, not member numbers. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

He registered both of those on the same day so that noone else would be able to steal his usual internet aliases...

Hmmm...I'm now member 4285 instead of 4298. Gained 14 places!

Re: Registration Date

I gained only 13 places. Before I had #3500, now #3487.

Re: Registration Date

That's interesting. I gained 7 places from #638 to #631. If the theory is true that it has to do with inactive members, and Renegade13 is #4285 and gained 14 'positions', then this forum has a tremendous 'retention ratio'. That is (if the theory holds) there were only 7 out of 3650+ forum Users that 'went away' or became inactive for some reason.

If that's true, that's gotta be some kind of record. Think about it a little http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/shock.gif.

OR...

they used extremely lax criteria for deciding which entries to remove. It might be people who haven't logged in within the Last year. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Hmm, I wish I remembered what my old member # was. I don't remember so I can't say how much it has changed.

I *think* my old number was 3449 but I'm not sure. If correct, that means I went up by 8 because now it's 3441.

This is a good idea to thin the database. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Well I seem to remember I was member 4000 and something. I'm still #4000 and something, so not much has changed.

A sure sign that you post too much: if you actually remember somebody else's previous member number! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif
