MP Game - Faster Game

I appear to have abruptly inherited the stewardship of the mosehansen game Faster Game to be played in Orania with no house rules. See the game page at www.mosehansen.dk for details.

Being in Orania, I would suggest we want at least 12 players to start, but I'm open to being out-voted on that. Oh - the turnaround is set to 24 hrs with quickhost, but we can increase that once we get into the middlegame.

And following recent events, there's no need to ban anyone http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
All welcome (please claim your nation here and identify yourself on the game page at mosehansen).

yah orania is huge and can handle 17 nations w/out problem.

having just survived the ordeal of eventually crushing all the false gods beneath my (somewhat ethereal) boot on Crowded_Lands, I'd really recommend using victory points, to avoid the absolutely grueling massive endgame. give everyone's capital a VP, and toss in a few extra, and make victory half the total http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

I think I'll withdraw, actually. My plate is looking pretty full. Is there someone else who will volunteer to take ownership?

just for future reference.. how exactly to you identify yourself on the game page??! On all the 'open' games, there's just a bunch of tables with the game info and the current registered players, and a 'submit' button and 'reset' button.. what am i missing?

After you upload a pretender an entry appears for that nation with the name "Anonymous". Over in the "Confess" column, there's a checkbox labelled "That's me". Check it and click "Submit".

He might have cretaed his pretender with an earlier Version of the game. Is he using the Vampire Queen?

Re: MP Game - Faster Game

Yes I had a VQ for Man from 2.11. I actually noticed the problem Last week and thought I uploaded a valid pretender. Have no worries my prentender is now an archmage with no magic.

What do people think about restarting the game on the server, so that it will run 2.14?

Mark the Merciful September 17th, 2004 06:24 PM

Re: MP Game - Faster Game

Oh, I assumed it already was...

I'd rather do it now, in that case, rather than wait for a restart I might not be aware of when it happens.

Not sure how many of the players monitor this thread, but I need to let everyone know about my upcoming absence.

I will be getting married, then travelling and away from my computer and the internet on my honeymoon from Oct. 1-10.

I have solicited a substitute for this period, but have had only one POTENTIAL taker.

If a substitute does not work out, I will have to go AI, unless everyone wants to pause the game.

I am Maringon, btw.

Mark the Merciful September 27th, 2004 12:14 PM

Re: MP Game - Faster Game

I'm inclined not to force a race to go AI in these circumstances; but I'm not one of Marignon's neighbours. What do they think?

Re: MP Game - Faster Game

I won't mind pausing the game if Zombie's sub doesn't show up.

Hm, wrong game. Actually I AM one of Marignon's neighbours.

And actually, I want Reverend Zombie to stale as many turns as possible, the bastard!

As for the game, I'd rather you get a sub; barring that, I'd rather pause the game; barring that, I'd rather you went AI. My $.02...

Well, to be totally accurate, I started the war with Ermor before the sub took over, and pretty much botched the job.

Pangea and Mictlan are just being opportunistic, I guess. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smirk.gif

That's why i posted i would like to see the game pausing during your holiday .

I was preparing the war against you since about 8 turns and unfortunately the attack date just fell on the day you started your holiday .
I really felt a little sorry http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif .

Re: MP Game - Faster Game

Hi folks.

I've submitted my first turn after what must be nearly two weeks of staling. So fair warning to my more hostile neighbours who may have got too used to the undead sitting around and doing nothing; I'm not attacking any of you this turn, but that may change very soon. I'm posting the current explanation/apology in a number of game threads and e-mails at the moment.

I seem to have overloaded myself with games, but done it in such a gradual way that I didn't notice until I went abroad on holiday. The holiday was very nice, but I found when I came to settle up that I'd run up an internet access bill that was bigger than my bar bill in trying to keep up with my games. The rhythm I'd got into pre-holiday was completely disrupted, and I missed a large number of deadlines in different games during the week after I came back.

I've now, mostly, got my game schedule re-organised and running again. I'd apologise to my allies for my lack of attention, but no-one ever wants to ally with me (sniff).
