OT: Final Fantasy VII movie

Has anybody else seen the new trailer for this?

Wow! Looks to be an awesome movie!

I'm just hoping Square learned from its mistakes with the first film they did in 2001. But the graphics in this one is a lot better - but the lead looks like a girl...

Yeah, but that's kinda typical for anime.

Here's a link for anyone who hasn't seen it: http://www.animesuki.com/ . Just scroll down a little and you'll see a BT link for it.

I can see it is actually referred to as FFVII, but is it actually that particular game or another FF movie?. I finished FFVII and so know the plot all the way through, and I doubt they could get it all into a movie.

A Final Fantasy VII movie? That would be wonderful! I have spent a LOT of time playing and re-playing that particular game... (well, not quite as much as I played FF VI but still many hundreds of hours) ! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Yes it is FFVII and takes place a couple of years after the game. If you haven't seen it yet check it out!

Re: OT: Final Fantasy VII movie

Hmm if it is indeed FFVII a few years later than the lead should be male. The game starts out with 2 female characters but I suspect only one of them (for reasons apparent to anyone who has played it) could be in the movie.

Edit: I won't view the trailer though. It's too big and I don't use P2P.

When is the movie coming out?

And if Aeris isn't the movie, that's OK. Tifa has always been my favorite. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/heart.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

It's set about two years later dealing with the aftermath of the game's climax.

Re: OT: Final Fantasy VII movie

Darn, never did finish playing that game. I got about halfway through it, to the point where the girl dies, but that's about the same time I got my pc, and the computer won over playing the PS1. Maybe one of these days I'll get it out of storage and pop it in my PS2 and play it. Of course, by that time, the PS3 will probably be out. Maybe I'll give my 4 year old the PS2 and buy the PS3 for me. Just depends on how much it is when it first comes out.

Speaking of this movie, other than this thread, I haven't seen or heard anything about the movie. But if the graphics are the same or better than the Final Fantasy movie, I'll definitely go out and see it.

The game series up to VII (I haven't played any of the newer ones) was one that elicted a real emotional response, something usually reserved for movies. FFVII in particular was a great game.

Here's some links for more info on the movie:
