Last Man Standing End Game discussion
Need a new player for Last man Standing. This is a well developed game that is at an interesting point. 3 main Empires perfectly balanced. 3000 ship fleets and large map with fully developed Empires. About to test 2000 ship clashes(each side). Thousands of units. If any one would care to join or help with Large game management comments and tips it would be welcome.
Situation: 6 Empires are locked in a titanic struggle for the Galaxy. Two large Empires and two smaller Empires have Joined Forces against Aganst a Crystal Empire and another smaller empire. The Crystal Empire's fleets are high quality and the Empire well defended And have about 20% of the map. The other Empires have 80% of the map but only Huge numbers have kept the Crystal Empire at bay. Star systems have been destroyed and rebuild 1000's of ships lost Trillions of beings destroyed. This game looks to continue for awhile. Not for the Faint of heart. |

Tempting...
...But I'm trying to stay out of mammoth games with the incredibly tedious micro-management, in favor of small scale games. You know, the kind where a fleet of 50 LC's rule! |
Re: Last Man Standing End Game discussion
Hese has kept me updated of what is going on in the game. Unfortunately La'Veins were not strong enough to survive... Unfortunately I can't take free place for I have more than enough work in my current games.
Some tips for managing mammoth games you can find in RTH discussion. At the end, when you do it right, you can lessen your work considerably. Btw. I wish there comes a victim counter in SEV. I would like to know which quality of mass murd.. eh, conqueror I am (How it was? If you kill one, you are a murderer. If you kill ten, you are mass murderer. If you kill a million, you are a conqueror). http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif |
Re: Last Man Standing End Game discussion
I believe the precise quote, attributed to good ole Joe Stalin was 'To kill one is murder. To kill a million is a statistic.' Lovely chap, him.

So. Good old crystal strikes again.
Didn't you try using null-space weapons. Holy cow. Brian |
Re: Last Man Standing End Game discussion
Null space suck. Yes, they do pass crystal but even so, they are ineffective. To break crystal, you need a one good high damage shot through.

Re: Last Man Standing End Game discussion
Really could use a new player. This is a chance to see end game results and huge fleet battles an answer the question which is the strongest warp point defense or attack. Also I hope that thread can become a good discussion on tip for dealing with huge Empires

Re: Last Man Standing End Game discussion
LordAxel: i belive, that you took wrong empire over. Swarm is minor empire, which will have no effect to the outcome. Church of mind is empire to be replaced, but his player is still logged to the game.
Sigh.. There goes easy victory. Without that's races 2000 talismanships that remained after i broke free his blockade i would only face about 3000 normal ships and less than 1000 talisman ships from another player. Now powerbalance swings back to the alliance. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif |
Re: Last Man Standing End Game discussion
And hello to you too.

Re: Last Man Standing End Game discussion
Hello Lord Axel
The Church of the mind is the empire to take over. The Church is allied with the Chin The swarm And Magramar in a nobel crusade to wipe out the crystal vermin and the Hadels. So far the war has been fought to a stalemate with the crystal vermin pushed back into their own cluster of about 20 systems. Billions have died on both sides of the conflict. Currently each side has about the same number of ships about 4000. The Chin Empire has over 1090 planets and one Sphereworld to administer. This is a game of epic porportions. This is why I am eager to see this thread discuss practicle ways of playing this huge game. Currently if I rush through a turn it takes about 2-3 hours to play. I I carefully do a turn it's on the order of 5 plus hours a big undertaking. Anyway welcome to the game If anyone desires to observe the game close up as it were taking the Swarm could allow this to be accomplished. Have fun and lets get this game going. |
