OT: Mystic Wars: (IT HAS BEGUN!!!!) Join Up
Ladies (if there are any here) and Gentlemen, as I said I would have the board war up by tomorrow, well it's tomorrow and here it is, as you may have gathered by the title this is going to hopefully be a series of BoardWars all taking part in a fictional, fantasy world.
The Way it works: The way this works is rather simple, you will set up a kingdom (example below) and when I say go everyone will start playing....Travel between kingdoms takes at least two Posts-yours someone else's and on your next post your there- (unless the guy's kingdom is on the totally other side of the continent of yours)in which case it may take longer. This is a game but it is also a story, so please don't be soo overly concerned with "winning" that you totally screw up the game for everyone else. The Default species and their advantages Humans: General humans Elves: Lesser Versions of the LOTR styled elves High Elves: Warhammer Style Elves Dark Elves: Evil Version of High Elves Orcs/Goblins: Warcraft style are called Orcs LOTR style are goblins Werewolves: They are stronger then man and much nastier, though they have a habit of killing anything in sight be it friend or foe (you can NOT have an entire kingdom of Werewolves, they would be a special unit for evil only) Creating a Species: I will allow you to create a species as long as you don't go overboard I.E Kingdom of giants or the like. To keep it in check: Population: Alright to keep people from raising a billion and one troops you WILL HAVE a population that you can raise into your army your starting population will only be 100,000 men: You will get more people per 15 Posts (1 page for me)depending on how many cities you control (you start with 1) here is how the city+population: will work: 1 City= 10,000 people per 15 Posts 2 Cities= 20,000 per 15 Posts Etc Etc Gold: GOLD is the "money of the realm" so to speak, you will spend gold to build cities and to raise troops, the process of raising troops will be explained later. GOLD is the lifeblood of your society, you get 100 gold for every 1,000 persons not in the army per 1 (15 Posts) page so if you have 10,000 citizens in your cities you will gain 1,000 gold. (it’s a 10-1 ratio obviously). Building more cities gets you more people each city starts with 10,000 persons but costs 8,000 gold and 1 page to create. You can also pay other kingdoms or receive money from other kingdoms of course, depending on how you like spending your money or whatever deals you make that’s up to you. Troops: OKAY so here’s what you’ll be spending your money on, when your not making shady deals or building ships these are the general “troops” Category (this is all based on averages): These are all “average” troops basically no special features or anything else just the general everyone is equal soldier of it’s class: Peasant: poor quality, basically just given a low quality weapon and no armor (10 gold produces 200) Light Infantry: These are the general light infantry forces armed with varying weapons depending on race/kingdom (15 gold produces 100) Medium Infantry: (20 gold produces 100) Heavy Infantry: (30 gold produces 100) Archers/Skirmishers/Javeliners (10 gold produces 50) Light Cavalry: (32 gold produces 60) Medium Cavalry (45 gold produces 60) Heavy Cavalry (50 gold produces 60) (for every +1 point you devote to any of these categories your gold cost will increase by 2 per unit If you give a +1 to a general Category (for example armor) all troop types go up by 2 gold per unit) Points: Well you’ve seen me discuss the points so here’s how that works: Your kingdom starts off with 20+ points and 20- points, for every +1 point you spend to give yourself an advantage of any kind you must spend a -1 You can give yourself an advantage in just about any field you see fit, it all depends on your personal preferences (you can even use points to create a new species as stated above) Examples of things you can put points to: (either to a specific troop type or to your military overall) Troop skills-increases the fighting skill of your soldiers and increases their chances of winning Troop Armor bonus defense for your soldiers Troop Weapons: High quality weapons are better against other folks’ armor Gold Per Page: For every 1 point you get to this you will get 10% bonus to your income Population Per Page: Same as Gold And many other things J it’s all up to you as long as it is within reason The Kingdom: Every kingdom starts out with 3 cities, 40,000 citizens, and 2,000 light infantry/Archers and 1,000 Gold: Here is what your kingdom should look like: Kingdom Name: Ruler: Heirs: Major Species: Minor Species: Population: Gold: Name says it all Troops: List all troops you have/type of troops here: # of Cities: History/Bio: Special Unit (You can have 2 specialized troops to your kingdom I‘ll dictate their costs depending on how you describe them) Advantages: 20 pts List all your advantages Disadvantages: 20 pts List all your disadvantages |

Cost(40 Gold Per 100) Elvish Rangers; AN ultra elite archer unit they can take down an enemy from great distances with ease and do so unseen. (Cost= 20 Gold per 50) Advantages: 20 +4 Heavy Infantry Armor +2 Heavy Infantry Skill +2 Archery Skill +4 to income +4 Light Cavalry skill +2 Population +2: Produces Eldornethi Steel (mix of Elvish craftsmanship with dwarven steel) Disadvantages: 20 pts -2 Light Infantry Armor -2 Light Infantry Skill -4 Medium Cavalry cost (+4 gold per Medium Cav unit) -4 Magical Offense -2 Magical Defense -2 Poor Trade routes (increases time for trade caravans to move from Eldornethi to another kingdom) -2 Medium Cavalry Skill -2 Medium Cavalry Armor |

Re: OT: Mystic Wars: The Boardwar Part 1
Kingdom Name: Slianthia
Ruler: Ethsia Cardain (I'm going to have to use advantage points for this guy, methinks) Heirs: Ethsia is about a thousand years old and never married Major Species: Custom lizards, the Ssia Minor Species: None Population: 40,000 Gold: 1,000 - special unit costs Troops: 1,300 skirmishers, 500 engineers, 200 lifemages # of Cities: 3 History/Bio: The Ssia live deep underground and are little known to outside races, a fact that doesn't really bother them. Special Units Engineers: Lightly armed and armored, engineers can make underground tunnels, traps, catapults, balista, and various mechanical things. Lifemages: Lifemages can entangle enemies in thorns, spread or cure poison and disease and help make things grow. Advantages: 20 pts Esthia Cardain - Perhaps the greatest lifemage to ever live, Esthia has guided his people since around the beggining of the Last chaos wars. 10 points (I think it's fair, since if I loose this guy, those points are down the drain.) Light armor - 2 points Running speed - 2 points Lifemagic (So they can manage to grow things underground) - 2 points Thrown weapons - 2 points Stealth - 2 points Disadvantages: 20 pts Calvery cost: 5 points Heavy armor cost: 4 points Heavy armor skill: 2 points Really bad trade routes: 9 points Is that ok? |
Re: OT: Mystic Wars: The Boardwar Part 1
Edit: Esthia is a duel-class 60% lifemage, 40% wizard.
|
Re: OT: Mystic Wars: The Boardwar Part 1
Except that 9 points on the trade routes is kinda cheep yeah http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif try and spread them out more, because if you don't care about trading it won't much matter. I do have tradeable resources though so -2 is pretty good http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
Those Ssia about how strong are they physically? |
Re: OT: Mystic Wars: The Boardwar Part 1
Aside from listed parameters, they are the same as humans in stats.
I see no reason why Esthia couldn't sell spells. 6 points of plant growth or 4 points of faster armies, anyone? (If that's ok with the GM) Any suggestions on diversifying the -9 trade? |

Re: OT: Mystic Wars: The Boardwar Part 1
Kingdom Name: Republic of Elantris
Ruler: Two consuls elected annually from the plebian masses and nobility, elections to be held this year as the current ruler was assassinated. Heirs: None, Republic with reigns of power held by the Senate and the two consuls who serve for several years. Separation of powers is fundamental to their society, and there is much bureaucracy and wrangling before any decision. A charter of rights protects the common man, although the noble classes still wield the true power in society. Major Species: Humans Minor Species: Elves, Dwarves, Halflings, Half-Orcs Population: 40,000 Gold: 0 - Elantria will be collecting tax this upcoming season to refill its coffers. Troops: Republican Citizen (Peasent 10/200) : Never before has the Republic had such a dire need that they must call on the average citizen to defend the homeland -- nevertheless, should Elantris be invaded, the Consuls and the Senate have the power to call on the citizenry... Republican Conscript (Light Infantry +1 17/100) : Raised in times of war, the equivalent of well-armed militia, the Republic's "reserve" force, currently 1760 in full combat readiness. Dwarven Axemen (Medium Infantry -3 14/100) : The Republic occasionally hires mercenaries. Most of these come from the Dwarven foothills of Ironside. Although plentiful, the Dwarves hardly substitute for a standing army, and their barbarian self-glorism cannot even equal the Republic's lowliest conscripts. They are mostly used as "brute squads". There are a hundred dwarven axemen, mostly used as police on Elantria's roads. Republican Legionnaire (Heavy Infantry 30/100) : The Republic's standing army is made up of highly trained, highly motivated legionnaires. Armed with a short sword, a large square shield and banded armor, they are the Republic's first and Last line of defense. Currently the Republic fields two thousand legionnaries. Skirmishers (Light Skirmishers +2 14/50) : The Republic's skirmishers are used in battle to throw spears at charging enemies. Their spears are soft and have a special point designed to make it impossible to pull out the spear from a shield -- or a body. There are five hundred skirmishers in the Republican army. Elven Scouts (Light Calvary +1 34/60) : The Republic's scouting arm is made up of low Elves who long ago moved into Elantris seeking refuge from an unknown evil. The condition of their settlement was that they provide an amount of elvish bred horses. The Elves, loathe to give their mounts to foreigners, instead opted to join the Republic's forces. There are four hundred Elven scouts in the Republican army. # of Cities: The capital Elantris, the Dwarven foothills of Ironside, and the Elven settlement of Q'solth Special Units : Republican Engineer Corps : A unit of a hundred highly trained soldiers, masons, engineers and artisans. The Republican Engineer Corps supplements the normal standing army and is responsible for the planning and construction of aquaducts, cities, roads and monuments. These are not the actual labourers, but the intellectuals and officers who direct whoever is placed under them to construct wonders. In times of war, they are responsible for maintaining and constructing siege equipment, ballista, catapults, traps and fortifications. Villagers are usually glad to see them, for they measurably increase quality of life. +4 Construct Fortification Skill +2 Construct City Skill +2 Construct Siege Weapons Skill +2 Construct Artillery +2 Morale Boost to locals Republican High Guard (Heavy Infantry) : These are the Republic's most powerful infantry units, armed with Dwarven plate mail and Elven sword steel. Unlike the Republican Legionnaire, they are dressed in purple, signifying their connection with the royal family. +2 Armor +2 Weapons Advantages: +6 Heavy Infantry Skills - Republican Armies are unparalleled in their discipline and motivation. Their legionnaires fight in formation using their deadly short swords and interlocking shields. When on the march, each night they stop to construct a highly fortified camp. Republican armies also have superior battlefield tactics, such as locking their shields together and putting their shields above their heads in a "tortoise" formation. Republican generals study Elvish, Dwarvish, Orcish and Human history, and are well versed in both maneuver warfare and attrition warfare. A tale among Elantrians is that once, a famous general caught one of his soldiers without armor on digging a trench. When asked why he was unarmored, the soldier replied that it was easier without the armor, after which the general drew his sword and cut the man's head off. +5 Communication and Trade The Republic is crisscrossed by highly maintained roads. Distances and locations are marked on signPosts. There are resting houses at regular intervals for messengers to switch horses and ride at full speed. Their roads are also highly defended, for if an invader were to enter Elantris, he could take advantage of the road network and spread swiftly. This means that bandits and pirates are non-existent on Elantrian patrolled roads. +5 Gold Income : Elantris is an incredibly rich society with gold coming in from the Ironside mountains mined by the Dwarves. Add to this the Elantrian famed road network, and Elantrian tax incomes are greatly increased. +4 Diplomacy Skill : Elantris always relies on its diplomatic prowress rather than force capabilities, despite its formidable military. The military is often at odds with the nobility, the former who prefer a more aggressive approach to dealing with other states, the latter who believe in maintaining the status quo and thus engaging in trade and peace talks. Only time will tell which side gains power. Disadvantages: -7 Heavy Calvary Skill : Heavy Calvary is practically an unknown concept in Elantria, and they have yet to master the stirrup, the saddle (their Elvish scouts ride bareback) or the lance. -5 Archery Skill : Ranged weapons too are practically unknown, and bows are still drawn to the chest and utterly despised by the military despite being favored by the Elvish minority. -2 Naval Skill : Elantrians are not close to any major bodies of water, and thus the idea of naval warfare or transport is unknown to them. -2 Bureaucracy : Laws and changes in codes of conduct must pass through many barriers before being accepted, the price one pays for a government which separates powers. -4 Magic Skill : Magic is treated in Elantria as a fable, and children are taught to grow up disbelieving in wizards and witches. Education focuses on debate, science, physical fitness and Languages. Brian |

Love your kingdom Brainy http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif Only problem, your standing army currently would be light infantry/archers http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif so just make that 2,000 troops the conscripts instead of the legionaiires http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Re: OT: Mystic Wars: The Boardwar Part 1
I can't use my gold? (I got 0 starting gold, I put all that into my army).
<edit> Oh and I made my conscripts number 1760 rather than 2000, I took 2000 and multiplied by the base cost for the original cost in gold, then divided by the more expensive cost since my conscripts are +1 rather than +0, so I have around 300 less guys. </edit> <edit 2>Here is the breakdown so you don't have to sift through all that text above, I made my conscripts +1, and made myself start with around 300 less of them. I used 600 gold, at 30 gold a piece that means for 300 I get 1000, so I have two thousand heavy infantry. I used 200 gold for my skirmishers, around 100 for the axemen, and 100 for the scouts. I think I rounded down in all cases, if you want I can calculate to the gold piece and give exact figures. </edit 2> Brian |

"Yes," the raspy voice said, hand still curled around the misty globe, "Chaos indeed approaches." The cowl turned towards a dimly-seen figure. "We must prepare. Take the census, Skaldron. Make the levies ready."
Just a little prologue post. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif And meta-game greetings to the Roman Repub...I mean, the Republic of Elantris. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif |
Re: OT: Mystic Wars: The Boardwar Part 1
No gold is to be spent until the game starts http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif and the advantage points are only to specific catagories you can't just go around giving + to any unit you want.
Look at my kingdom for example my heavy infantry OVERALL are superior to the average while my light infantry are LOW quality overall. Understand? Yeah if we don't get one more guy by wensday then I'm just gonna start the bw http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif |
Re: OT: Mystic Wars: The Boardwar Part 1

Re: OT: Mystic Wars: The Boardwar Part 1
Hey all just to let you know there is someone else joining up later, but for now go ahead and start I will:
IC: The capital city of Eldorneth was a golden paradise of civilization and power, twenty thousand citizens of Eldorneth called it home, and 1,000 soldiers stood watch at the walls of this great city, the steel gates that protected the entryway to the city were engraved with protective runes and images of the greatest king of Eldorneth in history. Meanwhile the camps of the Eldorneth military were busy with recruits, 1,000 men and elves of Eldorneth had been selected to join the Golden Legions and protect the Kingdom's honor, meanwhile the archery ranges were busy training the future marksman of the kingdom. Dwarven smithies formed the Eldornethi steel bands for the legions armor and weapons, while their elven counterparts used the valuable steel to produce arrowheads for their Ranger kin, the Kingdom of Eldorneth was arming for war should the time ever come for them to fight. (Units Trained) 1,000 Golden Legionaires (400 gold) 500 Elven Rangers (200 gold) 240 Horse Archers (Lt Cav) (128 gold) total Expenses= 728 gold Money Left Over= 272 |
Re: OT: Mystic Wars: (IT HAS BEGUN!!!!) Join Up
Kingdom Name: The Kingdom of Heodai
Ruler: Princess Cyrene Heodai Heirs: none Major Species: Humans Minor Species: none Population: 40.000 Gold: 1, 000 Troops: 2000 -1500 light infantry man 500 in each city. -500 archers all in the capital city. Cities: 3 city’s with outlining villages and beautiful acres and stuff. (and one ruined, burned, destroyed, etc city, see the bio for more information) the capital city: Astra. The great harbor city. it lies next to the great ocean, from where traders and diplomats may come and go. Population of 20.000 people east of Astra lies the city of Epheus 8.000 people live here south of Astra lies the city of Meteora 12.000 people live here. the ruined city of Milid lies east of Ephheus (although it is a ruin and not really under my command I still think I should mention it) History/Bio: of the Kingdom The Empire of Jacinda was once the jewel of these lands, great cities, golden acres and lots of people jewels and other beautiful things. The Empire was protected by a professional army and a mighty navy. And all was well… Alas these days are over, for decades the empire was attacked from the outside and from within. And the empire crumbled. Now there is only a fraction of what once was. The leaders of this remains wanted to break the Last tie thy had with the empire, the name... witch was something that died so thy said. And we should not carry the name of a dead thing…. so after a long debate witch Lasted days thy changed the name of there realm. It would be called the The Kingdom of Heodai, after the family name of the protector of these cities a strong and proud man, one of the few royalties who survived the Last days of the empire. He would be crowned the first King of Heodai... a small note on the new and the old capital. who now lies in ruins. the capital city, Astra was not always the capital city of the kingdom, it used to be the second city in the kingdom, but the and old and wise King Philipus IV the father of our queen moved the capital to this smaller city 5 years ago cause this city was easier to defend. The Late king ordered everyone to evacuate the old capital city when a large host of thousands of werewolves marched against the city 2 years later. his instincts to change capital city where correct since he could see things before it happend. The king stayed behind with an army to make sure no one was left behind when the Last people ran in fear, and in hope of defeating the attackers or to go down with honor he marched against them. No one has ever seen the old king or the army ever since...The old capital is a ruin these days. Hordes of werewolves live there and no one dares going there. Not even the rumors of the great treasures being told in taverns won’t make anyone go there. these days: So at the age of 19 his daughter Cyrene came to power, and now 2 years later she is still there, and she slowly gains respect of her people. not that she has much power, only 2000 troops under her command of the once massive armies, and a nation in despair. She only want what is best for her people but she lacks her fathers courage and experience. Time will tell if she will grow to be a cunning leader…. Special Units: Livana: the remainder of the once legendary Amazon corps. These female warriors are well trained to work in Groups, following orders, but thy can also operate alone and show initiative. There armor is usually a breastplate, a small round shield, and leather to protect the legs. Things like helmets are usually not worn cause it limit’s there mobility. There weapons usually are: a sword, and a javelin to throw at there enemies from close range. Thy are till now mostly used as diplomats and royal guards. +1 speed / mobility +1 endurance. and an iron discipline. In combat, there lines won’t break easily Pelagia: these man are tough sailors like there fathers where and there grandfathers where. strong and proud man who sail on the great ocean to fish and to trade with villages on the coast, but in times of war thy are called upon to defend the capital city from the ocean with there ships. These man are sailors so there weapons and tactics are especially good at sea, but on land thy are not much more then the average militia. There weapons are mainly 2 one hand axes or spear but the commanders of the ships are equipped with swords and large round shield. All men are equipped with chain mails. And a small helmet. Fathers knowlage : there are always at sea, since thy where Childs thy where at sea so dad thought ‘em everything. so thy are good sailors who are good in boarding and repelling boarding parties. Thy are veterans in sea warfare. +10% naval warfare. ? Revenge: a sailor has only one love, that is the ship he sails on. Don’t ever make the mistake of sinking his ship cause the sailor will be furious and will go into a blind rage. +5 % attack -5% armor / defense. But thy have a disadvantage on the land cause there not used to land fighting. -10% ?land warfare. Also the Revenge thing is only on water. Not on land. Advantages: 20 pts +4 Naval building Skill : our future is the sea and the islands, not the hostile continent. our craftsman are skilled in building everything from small rowing boats to the mighty trireme, the largest and fastest warship of our navy. (quicker / cheaper building of good warships and transports) +3 Communication and Trade: our nation is hard to reach by land cause of the many dangers inland like the werewolves, but our fleet managed to keep the communication and trade going across the oceans. +2 Medium armor +4 Medium infantry speed +4 strength of heart: the royal family still possesses magical abilities, although the magical powers are failing, wise man think that in two or three generations the magic will be gone for ever. But our young queen still has a magical power, she has the ability to boost the morale of her own and her allied troops over great distances. +1 trading item: Clothing clothing made in the kingdom is of magnificent quality, it is beautiful, and diverse, from clothing for simple peasants and serfs to clothing fit for a royalty. It is made of a light material, but it is quite strong. Rumor has it that Prince Jadivan (1.5 century earlier) Survived 3 bolts from an armored piercing crossbow because of his heavy armor and his specially made clothing that he whore underneath it. Although the bold pierced the armor and the wool underneath the armor, but it had no power left to pierce the first class clothing the prince wore. (add extra armor to wearer (0.5 – 1?) +2Greek Fire : our nation being in peril for so long has developed the Greek fire to be used on her warships. Using fire as an first attack often ends a battle before it begins. Giving them an attack bonus in combat (how much is reasonable?) However if the wind changes the Greek fire cannot be used cause it might burn our my own ships. Disadvantages: 20 pts - 10 heavy infantry is not a part of the army of Heodai. The concept of heavy armored troops is been abandoned after the fall of the empire (I took 10 points cause having no heavy infantry is a biiiiig disadvantage) + 2 building cost heavy cavalry -2 heavy cavalry speed. -2 combat vs. werewolves and orcs. The people of Heodai are afraid of werewolves, thy will face them but thy will suffer a big penalty of -1 to offence. There are many tales of great and brave warriors who broke and fled in fear when an small and almost harmless werewolf child appeared. -2 archery. Archers are only armed with bows, but thy lack the training with the weapon. thy are less effective / less range (can’t aim and thy don’t have the physical strength to use the bow optimal) -2 siege warfare. Laying siege is something for great heavy infantry armies, not for the armies of Heodai who prefer to torch the earth, take all thy can find and moving on instead of building great siege equipment and attacking well defended cities. -10%? attack when laying siege Peasant: poor quality, basically armed themselves with knifes, wood axes and clubs and no armor (10 gold produces 200) Light Infantry: These are the general light infantry forces armed with a spear and a small wooden shield. On the shields are personal symbols of the man who carries the shield. But all the shields have and yellow and blue color theme. (15 gold produces 100) Medium Infantry the medium infantry is armed with short swords and broad shields. Thy are all armored with chain mails. And thy all wear large helmets with large yellow feathers on the helmets, thy also wear yellow and blue capes and flags. (20 gold produces 100) Heavy Infantry:) cannot be trained. Archers/Skirmishers/Javeliners the archers / skirmisher force of Heodai are non regulars, thy lack discipline and training to fight well. Thy have good weapons but thy lack the training. (10 gold produces 50) Light Cavalry: the light cavalry consists of small horses with only light armed man or woman. The light cavalry is mostly deployed as an long range scouting force / border patrols / messengers / diplomats. Thy can ride far and fast. Thy have no standard uniform but thy can be identified by the flags thy carry, usually the royal colors. (32 gold produces 60) Medium Cavalry the medium cavalry consists of large warhorses with great man armed with pikes on em. Although the horses are armored the riders wear no more then some leather to protect them. (but since the horses are armored it is even powerful as the normal medium I just tried to give my army a special look ) (45 gold produces 60) Heavy Cavalry: the heavy cavalry is a magnificent sight, great warhorses with capes and chain mails and even a small pike on there heads so thy resemble unicorns. And the rider evenly beautiful, a great knight armed with an lance and a great sword. And wearing great armor and a medium sized shield. thy also wear long capes, in the royal colors (yellow and blue) (50 gold produces 60) Since I wanna be a partial sea nation (reading the other empires I thought it was a good idea, but we still have to class em / prize em etc) |

"Centurion!"
"Yes, mi'lord." "Are all the troops gathered?" "Yes, mi'lord." Septimus looked from his balcony at the conscripts below. No, no, this would not do. The recent fight with the barbarians had depleted Elantrian ranks. Now the army was only a shadow of its former self. Septimus even thought he saw a man carrying a farming implement as a weapon. Many of the flags denoting now depleted units were torn and tattered from battle. "How the mighty have fallen." "Mi'lord?" "We must recruit men." "I agree Septimus." Octavian moved beside Septimus. Since childhood, Octavian had been his trusted advisor. Now he was an old haggard man, with nothing left but his wits. That suited Septimus perfectly. He knew where his weaknesses were, and surrounded himself with men like Octavian to compensate. Balancing weaknesses and strengths was what his father had taught him. "Who do you wish to be charge of the recruitment?" "I will, personally." "You will your highness?" "Yes. Send messengers forth to Ironside, Q'thos, and criers in the city. We seek men willing to fight and die for Elantria." "That will be difficult. There may be no men left. They may be unwilling. And the Senate..." "Give them gold. Give the men gold, give the Senate gold, give the people gold. There is enough gold to go around now." "As you command sire." The army below marched out. Septimus clenched his jaw. The fools in the Senate would not get in the way. He knew Elantrian politics, and knew how to manipulate. "Oh, before you leave Octavian, make sure to send messengers to Eldorneth, Heodai and the Lizard people." The three cities of Eldorneth:
Eldorneth City: Population 20,000: The grand city of Eldorneth is the strongest city of the three in the kingdom of Eldorneth, it is a large fortress like city with towering walls and Eldornethian Steel gates which are heavily guarded by Eldornethian magics. Hibran: Population 15,000 The trade city of Hibran is populated mainly by humans and dwarves as most Eldornethi elves hate trade and prefer the arts, music and craftsmanship any merchants seeking buisness with Eldorneth come here first, from here the trade ships of Eldorneth also dispatch towards foreign lands beyon the horizon. Sige Nolonith: Population 5,000 Sige Nolonith is often refered to as "The Forge" by Eldornethi citizenry, for indeed this city is devoted entirely to the production of metal goods such as armor and weapons, though it is the smallest city of Eldorneth SIge Nolonith is one of the second most heavily fortified city and it lies in the heart of Eldorneth defenses to ensure it's vital work is never interupted. IC: Princess Sanowin sat brooding in her large apartment in the east wing of the fortress like Palace in the capital, she had so wanted to leave her homeland and explore the western fringe with the hunting party, yet her father would not allow it because she was his only daughter and he didn't want her injured by one of the dangerous beasts that Eldornethi hunters saught during a hunt. She sat staring out the window, reading an ancient Elvish book when her keen ears heard the sounds of footsteps running down the hall, the sound she noticed came closer and closer to her apartment until they stopped outside of the door, where she heard the sound of her guards stopping the unknown person, the code the guard knocked on her door let her know it was safe and she gingerly stepped off of her daybed and walked to the door, when she opened it a young sweaty boy awaited her, a scroll in his trembling hands which told her instantly that he was a palace messenger, she allowed the boy to come in to rest while she read the scroll, he stood frozen in the corner and she thought with some amusement that this was probobly the first time the boy had seen an Elvish woman as most of the women elves of Eldorneth wore light vales over their faces while in public to prevent "distraction", afterall elvish women had sent most human men into a trancelike state just by their beauty, unless they were used to seeing elvish women, which of course most men were not. The scroll interested her greatly, apparently some of the scouts had detected that the neighboring kingdom of Elantris was mobilizing military strength and that aparently they had dispatched a messenger to the trade city in an attempt to make contact so far that messenger was not being answered as the king thought over the proposal. "Inform the Santari horse squadron I want a horse readied for me in a half an hour, as well as a suitable bodyguard fo me understood?" She said sweetly to the young boy, he nodded and waited for her to write down the offical order and mark it with her seal on a scroll. Moments later the boy was running towarsd the stables to make the preperations his Princess had ordered. Meanwhile the training camps of Eldorneth were still busy as more soldiers were trained for war: (Recruitment): 200 Archers trained= 40 gold 600 Heavy Infantry (Heavy chinese style armor, chinese streight sword, plumed helm and round shield)= 192 gold Gold Left= 40 |

OOC: Given the cost set on my lifemages (50 gp for 1), it would seem I would have to change my current army composition to 1,500 skirmishers and 500 engeneers (20 gp for 50).
Skaldron stopped at the edge of the circle of light in the center of Esthia's working room. This was a wise precaution, as Esthia was researching. Research, with a mage as powerfull as Esthia, this time, took the form of strange shapes in a globe, appearing and dissapearing in a way that suggested, to Skaldron's untrained lifemagic sense, hidden dimensions. Skaldron waited silently. Even the least trained knew that the consequences of interupting a mage's experiement could be dire - And not as a result of anything Esthia would never do. Slipping back into reality, Esthia loosed his hold over the multiply-dimensional energy, letting the peices fade back to the places they came from. Slowly, he became aware of the local standard-dimensional space, aware of Skaldron waiting patiently and aware that Skaldron had been waiting for two hours. E: "I apologize, my friend. What is the days news?" S: "No need. The lifemage accademy graduation occured today. Twenty. Combat-trained, of course. The council has set them to repairing the thornwalls." E: "That is good news. What is the margin of the vote, this time?" S: "Sixty-five to thirty-five. The council also decided, by the same count, to convince as many lifemages as possible out of retirement." E: "So. Five councilers have discovered wisdom. Or at least prudence." S: "Not entirely. Three were recalled when the populace found that we have not been entirely forgotten. Elantris sent a messanger. We have them in the visitors warren." A wise descision, that, if not entirely friendly. The visitors warren was basically a pleasent-seeming maze outside of the city that had seen many well-trained assasins wandering untill the guards, who knew the entire layout, found them. Usually swiftly. "The council respectfully asks if you would interview him." E: "Of course. Tell him he will be granted an audience, but do not say with whom or how he will arrive." Esthia, too, knew the value of prudence. OOC Now, I just need to know the content of that message. Thanks for the unit costs. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif About the rulership of Slianthia: Both the council, who are elected, appointed, by rank, by wealth and with nearly as many different methods as there are councilers, and Esthia hold the powers of government. There are specific documents stating who has authority over what; generally, the council governs matters internal, monetary or the army; Esthia governs matters external, magical and scholerly. This leaves the lifemage accademy in the odd position of being run by Esthia but having it's recruitment set by the council. In this case, the council had, by a vote of 60-40, retired all the lifemages and set the recruitment too zero, hence Esthia's comment about '...wisdom. Or at least prudence.' |

Ic 02:
General Briareus walked slowly across the training facility of the infantry: the Royal Academy of Pentekostys. His mind was troubled, he just heard some interesting but yet disturbing news, farmers in the borderlands reported that there was an increase of strange folk, even riders of a strange nation have been seen, informing about directions,The queen thought it was nothing to be worried about… but Briareus knew better, strange folk would mean trouble, and trouble was something we could not afford... he had to do something! The General moved quickly to the main recruitment centre of the academy. where he went to the academy commander. ‘there are problems ahead, I can feel it, this is time for action... send word to all our cities that new regiments of soldiers will be set up as soon as possible. but the capital defence has priority‘ ‘yes General…is there anything else?’ ‘yes, not only do I want to train another infantry unit, but I also want selective recruitment for the Amazon corps, and prepare the sailors, take only the best you can find for this, here are the specifics for the recruitment of that and of the other troops’ ‘but’… the man hesitated… ‘what about the queen? Does she knows about this? I don’t see her royal sign on it’ ‘ oh… don’t you worry about that... now get ur men together and start recruiting more troops! Oh and start battle drills, I want the Medium infantry Phalanx up and running when I get back!’ … Hours past, and General Briareus tired of waiting, and the news of the riders of another nation worried him… what would thy want from us? ‘assemble the light cavalry, we’re riding out in an hour, we’re going to patrol the borders, I have a strange feeling that we might run into something, or someone… make haste!’ Ooc: Elantrians are not close to any major bodies of water, and thus the idea of naval warfare or transport is unknown to them…. Therefore I figured your diplomats / messengers have to travel quite some time before thy actually reach my cities since I’m at the coast… ( Units trained) In capital city: 200 medium infantry -040 gold 500 Pelagia sailors -200 gold 200 Livana guards. -080 gold Population remaining in capital: 18.980 Gold remaining: 126. Sanowin and her escort of riders came across reached the borderlands of Elantris undiscovered, they knew how to be stealthy and traveled rapidly for miles a day, only traveling by night, they scouted many of the smaller villages outlying the major cities and even now her and her riders patroled the foreign land along the borders that faced her homeland, to discover whether these myths of military mobilization were true.
On the Borders of Eldorneth the entire current military strength (other then the 1,000 light infantry guarding the capital) was mobilized on the frontier and the badlands that seperated Eldorneth and Elantris: (Mobilized Army) 1,000 Golden Legion 500 Elven Rangers 180 Horse Archers 200 Archers 600 Heavy infantry total Forces= 2480 Remaining Population= 37460 Total Incom per turn= 4,700 (I think I got that right) |

"Psst. You'd better take a look at this.", said Bato. "What's that?", murmured Bitus. "Wake up you bonehead. Take a look." Bitus sat up. They were sitting on high observation post several hundred feet from the ground at the border between Eldorneth and Elantria. These observation Posts dotted the Elantrian borders at regular intervals, manned by men like Bitus and Bato who lived for months at a time. They were quite large and spacious, and had food and drink regularly delivered to them. Bitus peered through his dwarven telescope. "So what, a small fire, probably the Eldorneth's having a picnic." "You idiot. Look at how many fires there are. That's not the paper thin guard that normally patrols the border you dope." At that moment, the small bell attached to a string that ran down the tower rang. "[censored]. Someone's here. Stand up, get your helmet on, it might be an officer." "Who disturbs the men of the watch? Speak!", shouted Bitus through a horn. "Valerius Severius. I command thee to provide meal and drink for a representative of the Senate!" Bato nodded to Bitus. Bitus picked up a large bucket filled with rations and waterskins. They started lowered it down a rope. "Think we should tell him?" "Tell him about what you moron?" "You know, about the fires." "You mean about the increased activity at the border?" "Yeah, that." "Nothing to say. Let him go. Not our concern." Bitus curled up. Bato kicked him. "Its your turn to watch, my turn to sleep." Down below, the sound of a horse moving off as the messenger left. "Uh, Bato?" "What." "The messenger is heading straight for the border." "Well that's his problem. Maybe he'll run into a few Eldornethian patrols that will straighten out his attitude." == Brian |

He had found another dead end. Flavius swore. The lizard people insisted that he go through this maze every time he came. He did not know the intent or the purpose of the maze, other than to delay and irritate. Despite being here several times in the past, Flavius could never remember the layout. It was as if every time he left, he had the memory of the maze erased. Or perhaps the maze actually changed. However they did it, Flavius didn't like it. He had been chosen for this assignment because his father was one of the leading diplomats to Esthia. He had tried to protest, but had been overriden. Somebody had a grudge against him. Now he was stuck as the messenger to Esthia, a land of trickery and magiks which made his skin crawl. Flavius turned a corner. He had been consistently preferring the right. Logically, Flavius would eventually reach the end of the maze. If the sorcerers didn't change the rules in the middle. A rustle. Perhaps they had tired of the game. Flavius turned around... == |

Whoops. Lack of data on that maze. There's plenty of rooms and resting places. Of course, they all look the same to someone not trained... Skaldron slipped through the hidden archway and through some bushes to where the guards reported the guest was currently. Finding the messengers back turned, he coughed politely, satisfying his minimal demands of diplomacy. "You have been granted an audience. You will be summoned at the fourth hour." Pointing at a discreet, but visible, water-clock. Skaldron cocked his head to the side. "In the meantime, use one of the side rooms to rest and refresh yourself." Pointing at a door. "Ring the bell inside for food." OOC As a side note, the 'only turn one way' rule only works if there are no circles. This maze works by repitition. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif Also, the only doors lead to rooms. Diplomatic Messages seem to take more time than the actual getting an audience and talking would. Shall we assume that most of the time is actually taken up with travel? |

Flavius shot off a fake smile and bowed slightly. "Of course, I respect your traditions." He crossed his arms. "How many times have we done this Skaldron? Is it really necessary to change the maze every time I come here? And why cannot I ever seem to remember the layout of the maze, despite my most excellent ability to recall all five thousand one hundred and eighty pieces of Elantrian law?" Not waiting for a reply, Flavius headed towards the door. Once the door shut behind him, Flavius gently rang the bell. Seemingly alone, Flavius opened the pouch secured at his belt. He had long ago figured out how to circumvent the royal seal without giving himself away. Five gold crowns. Enough to bribe his way into the Senate, hire a hundred whores, and live like a King for the rest of his life. Flavius sneered. The fool Septimus was an idiot for wanting to bargain with the lizard people. Flavius sealed up the bag. No, there would be a time and a place to get rich. But not now, while under invisible eyes. He cursed himself for not checking the bag earlier. Now with the lizard sorcerers around him, it would be impossible to take one of the coins. == Brian |

The man representing the Elantrian senate began to draw upon the Eldornethian position, the Eldornethi camp looked almost like a small city from this distance a several large campfires in cetnralized locations with a network of tents laid out in a grid pattern for almost a mile, armored figures stood watch at the "entrances" that led to the long pathways that would act as killzones should any raiders attack the camp during the night, several of the tents were large enough to be a complete temporary stable for the prized elvish warhorses of the Eldorneth Kingdom.
As the Senate rider drew closer to the camp the sound of running horses would have most likely startled him, he peered around seeing nothing but darkness even as the sounds drew closer almost before he noticed a few dozen yeards off he saw fast moving black shapes within the darknses, a small glint of metal the size of arrowheads sparkled in the moonlight, as he listened longer the man noticed that there was another group of horsemen coming at him from the opposite side, quickly the mounted warriors arrived in bowshot but instead of firing the two Groups of riders formed a circle around the man and stopped. A tall man dressed in the black robes of an Eldornethi horse archer dismounted from his beautiful brown steed and placed his bow at his side, an arrow still noched, the other archers all pointed bow and arrow directly at the man, should he try to do anything. "Who dares tred on Eldornethi borders without the permission of his most glorious highness the King?" the voice hissed softly behind the mask that covered the speakers face. The other archers froze in place and simply stared at the stranger that strode so bravely near their camps...some of the eyes had the shimmer of elvish appearence behind the robed faces, which explained why they saw the ornately dressed man so easily in the moonlit night. http://www.vroma.org/images/mcmanus_images/helmet.jpg The man on horseback drew his weapon -- then threw it on the ground with a powerful flourish. The sword dug deeply into the ground. "I am Valerius Severius. I come under the protection of the Treaty of Lucius and am a messenger from the Elantrian Senate. I desire an audience with his majesty." Serverius handed a rolled scroll in a round tube. The tube bore not the seal of the Elantrian Senate, but the personal seal of Septimus. Serverius had taken great risks accepting the bribe from Octavian, but despite Octavian's clout, duplicating the seal of the Senate was impossible. They had settled on using the Consul's personal seal. Serverius stared down the masked man, hoping he wouldn't recognize the difference, or at least would not care. == OOC : I need some clarification on the "gold" and "city" thingy. IC: The masked rider looked at the scroll case carefully, looking over every inch of it, then opened it-rather carelessly-and inspected every inch of it for weapons, poison or creatures that may try to harm the King.
"You will not ride to see the king this day, however I will take you to his son, the commander of this army." The rider spoke in a tone that allowed no retort or appeal and mounted his fleet footed horse without another word, the other riders remained in a circle around this stranger and rode towards the camp, leaving the sword behind them to be picked up by one of the lower ranking amongst them. Moments later the riders stopped outside of a tent that looked like all others except for the coat of arms upon it baring the symbol of Prince Kalathin. The captain of the riders led the Senate reprasentative past the two golden legionaiires into the well lit warmth of the Princes' tent, it was not an ornate thing, a simple desk in the corner, a cot not unlike that of an average warrior's the prince himself however was a startling contrast to the average warrior, he was tall, had long golden hair hypnotic green eyes lit with a fire of intelect and whit, he wore the Eldornethi steel banded armor of a legionaiire but his was far more ornately forged, additional bands added for his increased protection were also present, his helm which lay on the desk had the same face guard as the standard legionaiires but a wonderous plume of many kinds of feathers sat atop the proud peice of craftsmanship. "What does your senate wish of me guest?" he asked in a calm wise and youthful voice as he poured the stranger a cup of fine elvish wine. "I will hear your reasons before I send you on to my father, if of course I choose to send you on and do not turn you back to your homeland after hearing your reasons." The prince handed the man the wooden cup with a polite smile and sat across from him waiting for this "Senate representative" to speak. "Are we at war?" "Mind your business." "Senator, you call up every able bodied man in Elantria..." "I said mind your business. Unless you want to be replaced." "Of course not." "Then ask less questions. Be ready for tomorrow's inspection." Gaius waited until the Senator left, then spat on the floor. "Politicians...", he muttered. They had no idea the amount of training, discipline and time needed to raise such an army. The Last war was fought and won by men like himself, who sacrificed everything to turn weaklings into disciplined fighting men. Now all the Senators were interested in were parades and uniforms. Strange that only one Senator had visited him. Perhaps the expansion didn't have the support of the Senate. Gaius shook his head. No, scheming and politics was best left to others. OOC: I've expanded on your breif sketch of Flavius, hope you don't mind. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
Skaldron tapped an amulet hidden beneath his tunic. There was one simple reason he played this game on Flavius, he mused as his suroundings transposed...He didn't like the treacherous little backstabber. The first time he had come, an expensive ornamented brooch had somehow 'fallen' into his pocket. If Flavius hadn't accidently tripped on some low-lying moss, he would have gotten away with it, too. It was against certain signed treaties to search a messanger without risking grave offence. Unfortunatly. And it wouldn't be worth it to arrange an 'accident'. He was no threat to the realm. Unfortunatly. At the appointed hour, Esthia transported Flavius to his working room, making sure that Flavius arrived without dizziness or nausea and without the slightest delay. Never mind that a mind like Flavius's couldn't understand why, even were Esthia human. 'Responsibility' probably equalled 'fool' in his mind. For that matter, he probably thought Esthia had a cowl on his cloak to look mysterious. Fortunatly for him, Esthia was never even tempted to take it off. Yet. "Flavius. Welcome to Slianthia. I understand you have a message for me?" OOC Heh. A clue to Esthia's cowl. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif Of course, I just put it in to look cool. But the real reason is...Budda Budda BOOM! What, you didn't hear over the drums? I havn't decided yet. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif As you may have noticed, Skaldron is not entirely nice. Army and money stuff tommorrow. I've got a headache and my stomach is bothering me. |

Briarus pauzed to see the reaction on the face of the man, to his delight the man seemed to be a bit shocked by the news "therefor I cannot and I will not give you protection in name of the old treaties. couse thy no longer apply in this realm. However I shall not deny you passage since you are a messenger from the Elantrian Senate, and the old the empire was on friendly terms with yours." Briareus thought for a while and then he continued: "I will grant you passage deeper into our realm but you cannot go alone, fifty of my horseman will go with you as an escort. Thy will protect you during the remainder of the journey, but thy will kill you if you endanger them or the Kingdom. do you understand this?" Briareus waited to hear the reaction of the man. ooc (Naval construction) 30 triremes. 2/3 ready 20 transport vessels 2/3 ready |

Kalathin stood silent for long moments before turning to Flavius "You tell me that this news is unhealthy and dangerous yet you expect me to take this message to my father? The king of this entire realm, do you honestly think me a fool Elantrian?" Kalathin snapped harshly, and his guards drew their long curved swords awaiting their lord's order to strike this man dead.
But Kalathin did not give that order he placed the scroll on his desk and looked strongly into the man's eyes "Answer for yourself now or you will not leave this tent..." |

"Your highness, the matter is dangerous only to those who are not protected by royal privilege. I assumed it would be dangerous to you your highness, but perhaps I was in error. Do you want to know? I cannot promise you safety, but I can promise that the protection so far extends to the King and his direct heirs, and perhaps those who would do you harm would make a distinction between first in line and Last in line." Flavius grew serious. "I cannot stop you if you desire to slay me. Indeed, I have already given up my weapon. But slay me, and you break ages old dipomatic protocol. If I do not return, men will be sent to find my fate. I know that my warning of danger has been ambigious, but it is only out of concern for your royal highness. If you wish, I can tell you now and you may take your chances. That is the most I can offer without endangering your life. And before you misintepret my remarks, the danger does not come from Septimus or his allies, but his opponents." Thousands more soldiers arrived at the camp along the Elantrian border camp two days after the prince had ordered their "visitor" placed in a comfortable tent until a message arrived from his father.
Three days had passed and a message had finally arrived, the King of all Eldorneth would see this man, the Prince sent an entire squadron of cavalry to guard this "senate representative" and to travel at speed. The journey was swift on horseback and when they arrived in the palace the Elantrian man was taken to a chamber filled with guards and inspectors and stripped naked, he was searched for weapons, even his hair was shaved off to ensure no poisons or weapons of any form could be hidden there. "Stay 100 paces away from the royal throne or you will be killed instantly, without question, do no forget this." The Captain of the guard said before a fine robe was placed on the Elantrian man with a great deal of ceremony and pomp. Finally the Elantrian was taken to the doors to the throne room, 10 guards stood at attention there, all wearing Golden Legion armor and carrying the sword and shield of their office. The doors opened wide revealing a grand golden chamber of light and glory, somewhere could be heard the drawing of many bow strings which brought the reality of 'Killed Instantly" down upon the man's head. A strong voice echoed throughout the hall as the Elantrian approached within the 100 paces, "You have traveled far to see me, and no doubt the ride was difficult, so I do appologize for the need to shave you, but as you can guess assassination attempts have been launched on some of my predecessors. But non of that now, why do you come to speak with me?" OOC: Sorry for the brief post but I have been busy this past week. |

Briareus walked closer and picked up the sword from the ground. "this is a good weapon, you should not toss it away like that. And your intentions…. We’ll see about them" Briareus turned to one of his man; "lieutenant?" "sir?" "take 50 riders and escort our guest to the capital city. you will leave right now. I will remain in these parts for some more days with the rest of the riders" "yes sir" Briareus turned back to the messenger. "here is your sword, carry it with honor" and the messenger and his escort rode off again. and after half a day the arrived at the capital. slowly the riders rode towards the crowded city, the riders passed the main bridge to the city, there where no walls to guard this city, the city was surrounded with some massive cannels. wide and deep. there where five wooden bridges across, that could be burned when an enemy was near. every bridge was guarded by a massive guard tower manned with only the most loyal soldiers. after the bridge came the city, slowly the riders rode across the city, everywhere ya looked ya saw small merchants selling and buying goods in the crammed streets. after some time the riders reached the military part of the city, again thy had to cross an large bride with massive guard towers next to them. This was off limits to civilians. only if you had to go to the harbour ya could go across this erea after being searched. the main academy with her training grounds and the main barracks where on the right, ya could see some platoons of medium infantry conducting drills every hour of the day. and the royal buildings where on the left. it was not a great fortress, but it was an elegant building made out of white marble. with only a few towers for defence. these towers where the highest buildings in the entire city. straight ahead ya could see an large fleet in the harbor, consisting of large warships and transport vessels, but also fishing and merchant ships. The cavalry lieutenant: “ we’re here, I will escort you to your room. There you can rest until u are being summoned, thought that might take some time... would you please follow me?” Without waiting for an answer the lieutenant dismounted his horse and walked inside the building. The inside was also made out of white and grey marble, every few meters there stood an guard. The lieutenant walked quickly to the west wing of the building, in an rather large room he stopped and turned around. The room furniture was simple, an large bed, an sofa, two simple chairs and a table with some fruit and water in a bottle. On the walls where some paintings, but also two crossed swords. The floor was covered with light red carpet that felt really warm. There was a small fire in the fireplace. There was one small window watching over the city. “this is your room Sir, I hope all is to your liking?... I must return to my men now, but there is an small bell on the table if you need anything like food or wine. An personal servant will come right away and ame sure ya have everything you need.” the lieutenant bowed and walked away, closing the massive wooden doors behind him. Cyrene said at a table, writing some notes and signing papers, when suddenly someone knocked at her door.
‘come in’ she said while she laid down her writing equipment and rose from her chair. The door opened and a messenger come into her room, he bowed and gave her a letter. ‘thank you’ Cyrene said. After the messenger left she opened the letter, it was a short note from one of the guard posts at the entrance of the city. it said that an small group of cavalry just entered the city, thy seemed to escort someone who looked like an messenger. “A messenger?.... where did that messenger come from? what news would he bring? Will it be good news? Or something bad?... well… I guess I shall find out soon enough” Cyrene walked to a window, overseeing the piazza in front of the palace, she could see the messenger the note spoke about and an soldier dismount and walk into the palace. He would be brought to an special room where he could rest and get some refreshments, Cyrene knew this. And she loved that tradition, that gave her some time to prepare for the conversation. ‘I’m not nervous….I’m not nervous ’ she whispered… ‘ ah damn it why didn’t I pay more attention when thy told me this when I was a kid?.....well it is to late for that now’ Cyrene walked to the door and opened it. Near the entrance where a handful of personal guards. She summoned one of them. ‘please go and tell my maids that I need them immediately, after that you must go to the kitchen and inform them that I expect the dinner to be extra good today cause we have an guest, I want to make an good impression on the messenger. From the looks of him I’d say he comes from some lands that lies inland. So tell the kitchen that besides our dishes I do want some things from his lands, so without the sea fruits or sea fishes. if we have the ingredients that is. perhaps that will make him feel more at home. Go quickly now’ She closed the door again. And she felt some excitement, this is the first messenger that managed to reach her kingdom ever since the battle of Itachola* and the fall of the Empire … perhaps the dangers in the lands are decreasing? Nah the last reports she had of the outside world where reports of chaos and disorder, there must be chaos , the Empire did not last, so how could any other nation survive? ‘but the reports are old, from my fathers reign. Perhaps things are changing for the best she whispered’ *History of the empire: *the battle of Itachola: (I wrote this in an attempt to create more of a background of these lands) An huge battle fought in the Empire, the Emperor, seeing how his empire was crumbling for years tried to regain the control of the rebellious cities. So he spend an year to gather an enormous army.. City after city was taken and burned to the ground, if thy chose to try to resist him. But the last rebellious cities formed an army and marched against the emperor. The two armies met at the plains of Itachola where a 5 day battle was fought. the Emperor and the rebel leaders both had there victories and there defeats in that battle because both armies and leaders where evenly matched. the emperor had a slight numerous advantage, but the rebels had an superior position and thy had an ally, werewolves, although the werewolves also managed to kill an large portion of rebel troops thy did manage to turn the battle in favor of the rebels… So In the end it was the rebel army that won the battle. The emperor was torn into very small pieces by an werewolf, and his personal guard fought to the death… records say that an enormous number of people died on that field. (afterwards no one dared to came there and the once great plain turned into a swamp. Ooc: I felt like posting something after being crushed on Atro's SEIV mod (I really hate klingons! Thy are mean!!)
