Some one posted that at work five years ago and it was funny. A small group of women of course filed a class action lawsuite for discrimination over it, and it was settled out of court. One lady let it slip that her and her lover, Shelly, got 10k each.

(The thing is, it was put up by Shelly.) http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

Re: Homelife secruity

You know this topic came up on another forum about how many professional jobs that deal with kids are seeing record attrition rates. Many people are simply not willing to take the risk of working with children, especially teenage girls, because of the off chance that they might be accused of something. In most professions, such as teaching, an accusation of sexual misconduct is instant death to your professional career and your personal life is ruined. Even though it’s just an accusation and the odds are it’s a false one at that, you will most likely be terminated, on the very least investigated, quite possibly arrested, and most assuredly embarrassed to the point of suicide by the media. It does not matter that nearly 95% of all alleged accusations of sexual misconduct are proven to be false, just being accused is a death sentence.

I know that if I were offered a teaching job, I would turn it down. Why put your self at such risk. You have to pass every kid, no matter if they failed the test or not, just out of fear that if you did not, they would accuse you of misconduct and poof there goes your life.

Cops, doctors, priests (Ok bad one), and a whole host of professional jobs are at risk for money grubbing liars who are to self absorbed to realize that they are hurting innocent people, and legitimate claims of misconduct with their cry wolf, now pay up bull****.

When it comes to accusations of misconduct, especially sexual in nature, your arse is hung out to dry long before you ever see your day in court.

My former employer had a policy that a lawsuit never filed was a lawsuit won. They forked out millions while I worked for them on bogus sexual discrimination, assault, and misconduct charges. It was a win win situation. Hell one girl was hired, worked two weeks, and said a co-worker improperly touched her and poof he was gone, and she was promoted into a new department. (Made the Training Tech at Lv 14 pay.{At that time $16.60 an hour}) She was a worthless worker and did what she wanted, which was always nothing because everyone, including myself, were to afraid of her to say anything. The co-worker sued and was eventually reinstated but the damage had been done. After word got out about what she had done and gotten away with, there was no closing Pandora’s box. It was a free for all. It became so commonplace that people, include myself, started avoiding female co-workers and carrying pocket recorders. Thank God too. I was hauled off to HR one day and accused of talking negatively about a co-worker, female, while in the break room. The HR rep, a not so friendly shorthaired women, was very nasty to me and accusative. I recorded the conversation and later used it to save my job. The employee who had accused me did so because I took “her” parking spot. Back then we had a small parking lot and if you wanted to get a good spot close to the door, you had to hustle during shift change. I hustled and beat her to a good spot one day and ironically it was the same day she accused me of talking about her in a demeaning and offensive manor while on break. She had a few of her female co-workers back her up, but one of them, I don’t know why, told the truth and the whole matter was “forgotten.” It got so bad that we started to see a huge turn over in employees. The company was hemorrhaging workers and the temp companies could not keep up. As the turn over continued we began to see fewer and fewer settlements as new management took a hard line to the false charges. I was called to HR once more on BS charge, which was proven to be false after an internal investigation. In that case the employee who brought the charges was let go. A few cases went to court and the company won each time. Their new doctrine helped to stem the tide of false claims while the legitimate claims were settled and there were a few of those. (Not all claims were sexual harassment.)
I honestly believe that the reason our bonuses were so low over the course of my tenure with the company was because the company was shelling out millions under the table to keep from being sued for bogus sexual harassment claims. So no, it’s not really that funny when you think about it.

You know somedays, I think we should just let terrorists do what they want, because they would be doing us a favour

Too many greedy people in this world, and its costing our future
After all, its greed thats screwed up our planet so bad, and its greed that is prevent the powers that be from actually doing something

Anyway, this is starting to turn into a political thread, lets get back to the humor that I'd intended it for http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Re: Homelife secruity

I live in America. If I lived in CA, then ya it would really be screwed up. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif To many of the califorians are moving north and bringing with them, their mucked up way of life. There was a time that if your car and you were along side the road someone would ALWAYS stop to help. No a days, you could be bleeding to death and not one person would even waste the air time on their Cell phones to call 911.

The people have grown selfish, heartless, corrupt, greedy, self ceneted, igotisitcal, vain, rude, mean, and on and on. At time I find myself wishing for a phased poloron beam.
