MP Game (started) - Terror of the Deep

This is a mosehansen game (so it's v2.14) played in the Desert Eye with no mods. Independants 6, sites 50, rest default. Initial turnaround is 24hr QH. The only house rule is the victory condition.

The first nation, other than R'lyeh, to occupy R'lyeh's home fortress wins the game. R'lyeh only wins by eliminating all other nations. Atlantis and Ermor are excluded from the game. Declare your registration here at the forum, as well as www.mosehansen.dk

No mods? You should turn Lobos into Aqua Secctoids to be thematic. No reason why Illithids shouldn't meet Sectoids in their travels...

At the very minimum, you should rename Crab Hybrids as Lobster Men and give them approximately fifty thousand hit points http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Does the houserule imply that you have to fight vs. all other participants ? I.e. that all others are allied against you ?
If that's the case i join as jotunheim , otherwise i probably also join but likely with another nation http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Don't expect too many Allies Boron. If Neif Jots start next to MIctlan we might get froggy.

Although I've obviously painted a target on my chest, this is not a co-operation game. There is only one winner - either R'lyeh or the first nation to occupy its fortress. If someone else is going to beat you to the fortress, you will need to take them out.

Catquiet - could you identify yourself on the mosehansen server? The checkbox works, even though it's struck out.

I hereby declare that Catquiet's avatar is my favorite on the board.

Too bad I am caught up in too many games. This one sounds fun.

(Thus, ends my comments from the peanut gallery.)

Bump. Hmmm - there's not much interest with only 5 registrations so far. I'll give it another 48 hours, then start the game.

It looks like Azhur staled the first turn http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/Injured.gif
If he stales again, I'll use the master password to put him to AI.

Well Azhur....
I think if you had patrolled with your mages to defend with the PD, it may have gone differently. Who can say. Good fight in any event. -Zap- just showed up on your coast anyways, so it goes frombad to worse!

I can't connect today; I can see the mosehansen web-page just fine, but not the game - which is too bad, because I was savoring the universal beatdowns I was about to administer (in my infinite and loving mercy).

Zapmeister April 11th, 2005 11:15 PM

Re: Terror stalks the night

Yes - I just noticed.
I've restarted the game, which has cleared the problem and given Arco another 24 hours to play.

Re: Terror stalks the night

Pythium has suddenly appeared at my gates with a 180-strong water-going force of arch theurges, theurges, knights and his water-9 pretender.

It could be game over in 2 turns unless a miracle shows up.

He's here and the gate is down. It's not over yet, but it's not looking good. Watch this space.

Hurry up, take your turn - I've got some of that infinite and loving mercy for you.

It\'s over!

Well, the Deep turned out not be as terrifying as I hoped http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smirk.gif
Congratulations to Dr Praetorious, whose sieging force reveals that he's been focused on the winning criterion from turn 1.

Despite losing their pretender to Vengeance of the Dead, the forces of Pythium easily overwhelmed the embarrassingly weak defense stationed in, and teleported to, R'lyeh. I blundered the previously turn by accidentally setting units to patrol instead of defend, but I don't think it would have made any difference.

Pythium has won the game. Thanks to everyone for playing.

YellowCactus April 19th, 2005 09:52 PM

Re: It\'s over!

Awe shucks.
I had 6 fully equipped Ice devils two provinces away and would be there in two turns. Hoping to catch Pythium at the gates. Too late, and probably would have been MInd controled. Hey Pythium. If you want to see how you'd fair against 6 ice devils move to the land province north east of your current position. I'll meet you there next turn. (Probably get mind controled, but it'd be academic to see.)

Good game fellas!

Re: It\'s over!

I'm not really equipped for ice devils (they fly, right?) - I could've made a Staff of Storms but haven't bothered.

Nonetheless, here I come - province 120, correct?

Hmm, I'll try an attachment. For some reason, the forum doesn't allow a .trn extension so you'll need to rename rlyeh.txt to rlyeh.trn

The password is "xxx".
