Problem with the peolpe\'s mod
I can't get any missions from HA after I completed the first one. The mission is marked as completed, but when I go to the manhattan starbase in the epsilon system, the contact window is empty. Starfury version 1.15.

What version of the mod do you have? I understand that in the 0.2.1 the first three missions should work. (not that I have tested them myself. I'm busy enough trying to get all the models converted to the mod)

Hmmm. Well I have to take a look. I'm not specialist though so I won't necesserily get it working. I have an idea where to look for the error though.

Can you tell me what file contains exactly where you get the missions? I mean the campaign missions. And by the way, what is the difference between version 0.2.1 and 0.3.0?

Well officially we haven't released the 0.3.0 revision. Just some team development versions that will eventually lead to 0.3.0. Confusing isn't it?
The real difference between them is that the starting ship, Falcon, has new textures, Manhattan has new textures, Ghost (buyable ship) has new textures and so on. Though to get the 0.3.0-pre2 working you need to get the fix patch. http://koti.mbnet.fi/sfhaven/downloa...030pre2fix.rar The 0.3.0 pre version was compiled in a hurry so it has few bugs. Also 0.3.0 should have the first four missions coded though if I remember correctly GandalfTheWhite said that the 4th mission isn't working. And I believe that the mission data is in Main_Events.txt or in Main_Missions.txt It might be that the mod doesn't change the second mission start available after completing the first one or something like that. I can't start the version 0.3.0 even after patching it.
The game creation stops at 90% and I have to terminate starfury in the task manager. Version 0.2.1 loads without problems. |

It still won't work? That's strange since it does for me. Maybe there's some file missing in the patch then. Hmmm. Can you tell more of what the problem is? I know that when the game stops loading everything is black but there is actually an error message on the background. It just doesn't show because for some reason it's in black against black background. But you can select the text with your mouse to see what it says.
Anyway, seeing that there seems to be so many problems with TPM I have to try and hurry to get the real revision 0.3.0 released. Currently I'm in the middle of an exam week and after that I still have two school projects to finish but after that I can give TPM some time. |

Take your time. Real life is important after all and you already did a great job with 0.2.1!
I have to check about some error message, but at the moment I am still at the beginning of playing the standard game. I just downloaded and checked the different mods. Probably the easiest way would be that you post your current version of 0.3.0 including the lastes fixes and then we see if the error still occurs. |

Thank you for your compliments on the 0.2.1 but I can't take all the credit. GandalfTheWhite, Deadzone and Ayvar also made a great effort on that revision.
As for the 0.3.0...it isn't going to be as easy...my current copy is somewhat far away from 0.3.0-pre2 that is available. New comp type, new enemy appearances including some civilian traffic, convoys, etc. I hope to get a full "bug-free" (read mod starts without crashing the game) revision 0.3.0 out at the beginning of June. And I think I know the reason what causes your game to crash at 90%. In the Main_Enemies.txt there is a two empty rows somewhere in the file. Starfury thinks that the file ends here even though it doesn't. Delete the extra row and the mod should load without a hitch. hmm. I've never got that. Are you sure you copied all the files from the repair patch? Because the older versions had problems with the satellites. The update has the fixed satellite model. (hasatellite.x) |

Yes I checked it twice that all files I have got from Spaceempires.net 0.3.0 patch replaced the original 0.3.0.
As I said version 0.2.1 loads without problems. I did not have yet the time to play a lot with it. Still getting to know the basic game. From the few locks at the data files I can imagine how much work such a mod is and I appreciate your and your co-workers effort very much. The same is true for the other mods that are published. I think if starfury will getting more popular it is because of this work of it's fans. I would be lucky if I only created a new campaign for the stock game. Take your time and good luck for your exams. |

ok, then I just have some error in the patch. Most likely I forgot to copy some file over to the directory when compressing it.
...Time passing... And I did some checking and indeed I forgot to copy the Main_Enemies.txt to the patch which was the key file for the fix. Hurray for me!!! And of course I cannot give it to you now because I've changed it too much for it to work with your current version. I'm truly sorry about this. Well, enjoy the 0.2.1. 0.3.0-pre2 just brings better looking textures on the starting ship and few more maps. That's about it. Also if you edit the CampaignData.txt and change the Starting player ships file from Main_StartingPlayerShips.txt to Main_StartingPlayerShips_all.txt you can test almost every custom ship in the mod. Same goes with the map. There are two files for it too. One for testing and one that is actually meant for the game. |
