Do you mean ARC-170? Advanced X-Wing dont have nothing more (at least what I know) but better weapons and systems. But still I like those images. I like second group more than first. It look like more action.

Re: X-Wing Fighters?

Great stuff! Top notch!
Maybe you could make the small fighter the forerunner of the X-Wing (like in Revenge of the Sith). Or a Y-Wing, and X-Wing and a B-Wing (forget the A-Wing, that thing is as ugly as hell)?

Edit:
Or better yet, first a Z-95 Headhunter, then the Y-Wing and then the X-Wing.
Ah well, it's great stuff anyway.

Actually I do mean the ARC-200 - Its a later version of the ARC-170. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif I called it an X-Wing advance because I did not have a name for it, I guess it could be called an X-wing Raider or something. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Yes I hope to make a Y-wing, B-wing, and A-wing fighters as well. Perhaps more as I get the time.

Gorgeous models. What system did you build these with?

(Uh... "with what system did you build these," he corrected himself...)

I like those fighters. Exept headhunters, their weaons just dont look right. They aren different than in x-wing.

Re: X-Wing Fighters?

I can change the weapon on the HH no problem. I used an AMD XP 2400, 768 DDR Ram, 200 GB HD, Nvidia Fx 5700 Ultra 128 DDR Ram (Dr - 7.1.8.4), OS-XPsp2, DirctX 9c. The program was DOGA L3 v2004 12.08 beta with - custom parts pack and textures from Todd Z's site. (Both are linked to in the DOGA Models Thread here and at SE.net)

A little small to see detals, but looks good. A little flat, but I imagine that's the design.

Re: X-Wing Fighters?

The size is 128x128 and ya, the A-wing ship in Star Wars is a bit flat. It is a small fighter to be sure.

I am thinking about making a Snowspeeder as one of the troop images. Any thoughts?

I haven't poked my head in here for awhile,.. it's great to see you're still having fun AT, great model work, awesome, beautiful, wonderful, and your wallpaper trench run battle scene is inspiring.

Keep up the fantastic work.

Cheers!

Yeah from one of the screen shots of the gamespot SEV article...these ships are about 100 times more detailed...

Re: X-Wing Fighters?

The ships in SEV are 3d rendered X formated models with skinned detail. Mostly they are just like they are in Starfury.

The fighters I made would NEVER work in SEV because the polygon count is too high. However, I can make a basic model, do a skin for it, and see what happens. Skinning art work is something that I am not at all able to do. I have no skill in that regard.

Hi AT,

Great work again,

Can you send me the fighters with Mini's, So I can implement them in the SW-Rebellion Mod. (need those fighters for better visual scale.)

Indeed, they look terrible.........
But are used by some Corellian factions in one of the trilogies I read (forgot the name).

Re: X-Wing Fighters?

I think the person who concieved of this damnation, this brother sister abomination, this out right ugly *** design did so because they were not creative enough to come up with a new concept. I mean how bad of a writer to you have to be to want to cross a Tie fighter with an X-wing????? Thats just play ewww!

Intimidator August 6th, 2005 08:53 AM

Re: X-Wing Fighters?

Agree again, but concept was bunch of pirats that used parts of different ships to get 1 ship/fighter able to fly.

Inti,

Re: X-Wing Fighters?

Oh, well that explains it then. In that case it was brilliant writing and I stand corrected.

BTW, kill all humans!

Re: Rebel Fighters

I think it looks nice, it looks more like a "fighter" to me than the X-Wings or TIE Interceptors that were the origin of its major parts, or than any SW fighter for that matter. It just looks cool.
