Re: Member’s requests
Stuff I've got on the boil from the DOS gmae, that I need to trasnfer over:
1. a UK Campaign in September after the withdrawl of Italian troops from Iraq. 2. I started on a Team Yabkee campaign, however that's ground to a halt so far. 3. Continueing My work on a Series of games around a future conflict between the UK and Spain bassed on the rock of Gibraltar. 4. getting MObhack to listen to me on OOB's.. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif |
Re: Member’s requests
My current "solo" project is an attempt at a hypothetical campaign set in June/July 1961. UK opposes the threatened invasion of Kuwait by Iraqi forces. This is based on real events (Operation Vantage) but the crisis never went "hot". This assumes it did. There is a possibility that I may introduce a "surprise" guest of some soviet forces if things go bad for the Iraqis.
First "demo" scenario has been released. This is my first attempt at any scenario design, so will be a long and (hopefully) educational road. If anyone has info concerning this operation, then info would be appreciated. |
Re: Member’s requests
Here's a request linked to this project (i.e. Vietnam).
If you, while reading etc, should stumble across anything interesting that has to do with Vietnamese terrain, weather conditions(monsoon?), cultural features (ruins perhaps) or anything else that could have an impact on map design I'd be very glad to receive a heads up. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/cool.gif |

This is something we might have to weigh in when we get to start making the actual scenarios I think. "Tank unfriendly ground", be it swamp, mud or mountainous areas, is possible to do but it also becomes infantry unfriendly making infantry movement slow - one hex/turn. I would suggest that battles taking place in tank-no-go areas are fixed as much as possible through scenario design rather than map design - this for reasons of playability and player interest. |
