Why no Venezeula?
 

Seems that with the likes of Pat Robertson making US foreign policy now ( , all kinds of hypothetical scenarios are possible involving Venezuela.

Since WinMBT comes with OOBs for Paraguary, Bolivia etc, why no Venezuela?

I suspect because nobody pushed hard for Venezuela, and nobody did a Venezuela orbat.

Exactly right. At the time there were 90 nations ( there are 92 now ) and Venezuela didn't make the short list.

Green does for Central/Southern nations not specifically given an OOB.

Don, Andy, are there plans for adding new countries in any foreseeable future?

Out of curiosity, what was the criteria for putting Switzerland in?
I have heard that the soviets had contingency plans for invading them (the sort of stuff which begins to make sense after the third bottle of Vodka, I suspect) but apart from that I do not see much else.Why them instead of let's say Kuwait or Mexico?

Maybe because there are alot more Swizz players of the game than people living in Kuwait or Mexico?

The fact that Sweden was in the game got me interested and evntually hooked on SPMBT. (Besides the fact that I had been playing all other SP installments for ages. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif )

Well,Sweden would have surely been involved in WW3 and they do peacekeeping.A lot of stuff can happen.Switzerland on the other hand seems to be there pretty much for "what if the germans try to steal our chocolate" sort of scenarios.

Nobody has messed with the Swiss for a few hundred years. Not many nations can claim that. It was included becasue I wanted it included becasue I figured if it was there somebody WOULD try to mess with the Swiss and no one disagreed ( well... maybe Andy a bit).

With "only" 92 nations there would , of course, be at least one that somebody would say . "why A and not B ??"

Life it's always "fair" to everyone. If Venezeula had of appeared on someones to-do list when the OOB's were being created it probably would have been included but it wasn't. On the other hand, how many games, let alone wargames, include all the nations we do include?? SP2 "only" had 43 so 49 additional nations isn't chump change.

And as OOB-editing is rather easy in WinSPMBT, anybody who feels like, can make Venezuela, or any other country for that matter. I have produced a couple of modifed OOBs for Norway in SPWW2. Mainly because I had aviable info that was not easy to com by. Like a training-manual for infantry tactics, listing ranges of weapons. From that book, tip of the day: "If defending a line of forest, place your troops eiter somewhat in front of, or behind that line. The enemy will usually think you are in the line, and fire at that position."
