Crown Map Icon
 

Pretty new to this game. I have a crown icon in one of my captured provinces. What does this indicate? Its not listed on pg 7 of the manual.

It means that province earns you a victory point, IIRC...

It's a victory point province.

... which is only relevant if you are playing a victory condition of amassing VPs. In the default setup you have to conquer the entire world, so the crowns are irrelevant.

Except that they help spread dominion, so not totally irrelevant.

I didn't know that. Does that mean if I control the province the crown spreads dominion like a temple, or what?

Yeah I didn't know that either - is this true on all maps, in every province with a crown??

The dominions.pdf file says that victory points spread dominion only if you are playing with the "victory points" win condition.

What is this "dominions.pdf" you are talking about?
Seems to me it isn't anything official. Now if I could only find my manual ... ok, manual does not say the crowns are only working when vic conditions active, and there's nothing mentioned in the patches fix lists either.

it's a pdf file about dominion (candles), kind of the only f.a.q. which explains how dominion functions.
