Whoops..... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
Helmsman: "Captain Sir! Borg signatures detected!" Captain: "How many?" Helmsman: "About fifty sir!" Captain: *faints* |
Re: OT: Dropping out of warp
Unless
Helmsman: "Wake up! Don't worry sir, they're the noncy Voyager Borg." Captain: "The ones about as tough as a baby kitten with a cold?" Helmsman: "Yes." Captain: "That's a bit of luck." |
Re: OT: Dropping out of warp
Smile for the Borg!

Re: OT: Dropping out of warp
What game is that? Did you survive the encounter? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/eek.gif

Re: OT: Dropping out of warp
What game is that from? I don't recognize the interface.
|
Re: OT: Dropping out of warp
That's star trek Armada 1 or 2
|
Re: OT: Dropping out of warp
That's Star Trek Armada 2. If I remember, that back there is a borg supercube. 8 borg cubes connected together. I remember making 8 of those, and seeing if I could make one big freaking cube to pwn the AI... Ah, good times, good times.

Re: OT: Dropping out of warp
yes, you're right ST Armada II http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif
Yes the Fusion Cube & Tactical Fusion Cube http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif, actually that were my ships waiting for the AI drop out of warp (for some reason they always attacked on the same place), they don't really have a chance http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif |
Re: OT: Dropping out of warp
Heh depends on what verse happens to drop out FTL on the borg here's some other possibilities:
[WH40k] Helmsman: "By the Emperor those are wierd ships." Captain: "How many are there?" Helmsman: "Fifty Excellency" Captain: "Is that all.....how boring." few hours later borg fleet = drifting wreckage as I don't think they could adapt to void torpedoes or Lance weaponry. [Babylon 5]: Helmsman (Human): "Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God." Captain: "Oh my God oh my God oh my God." Borg: "We are the borg you're too primitive to assimilate come back later....." Captain: "Uh.....okay." [Honor Harrington] Helmsman: "Uh Admiral there are about fifty huge ships out there and they don't look friendly." Admiral: "Run AWAY!" Honorverse ships accelerate to speeds beyond anything in ST and leave the borg in the dust. [HW Beast] Beast: "WE are the beast prepare to be consumed" Borg: "What the f*ck?" |
Re: OT: Dropping out of warp
LOL, that was really good http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif
I for one would like to see a battle between the Borg and the Beast..... both trying to assimilate/infect the other..... |
Re: OT: Dropping out of warp
Quote:
A. Engineering officer B. Disposable bridge crew (seveal of these) C. At least one person Honor is buggered about D. A huge chunk of the crew. Then honor will lose an eye, leg, something like that. Then she'll win with some fairly basic tactical trick which, never the less, shocks the hell out of the Borg. Borg. "What is this 'Pincer' movement? We've never encountered it ever and so we are unable to respond. Lo! We are undone." |
Re: OT: Dropping out of warp
I ran out and bought Armada II back in 2000 and was utterly dissapointed by it. The graphics sucked compared to the previous game. I later learned that the graphics were reduced in quality so that older machines could run them. BOOOOOO!
Never played it again after the first day. |
Re: OT: Dropping out of warp
Who cares about graphics? the possibility to play with the borg or species 8472 is great!
|
Re: OT: Dropping out of warp
Well, those graphics aren't bad. Those Borg cubes are a bit hard to see when there's too much light reflecting off the monitor. What are those bluish planet-looking things? Are they ships, too?
|
Re: OT: Dropping out of warp
Well as you said, bluish planets! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif actually the zoom is a bit far maybe thats why the borg cubes are hard to see. light reflecting off the monitor??? where? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/confused.gif

Re: OT: Dropping out of warp
The glowing blue things are minable moons or some such planetary body.
|
Re: OT: Dropping out of warp
They are planets as the borg you can assimilate them (or colonize, oh, yes you can colonize planets, with the fed. or other races you can only colonize them i think), and mine them for metals, there are also dilitium moons (not on the screenshot) but are smaller i think they are also blue, there's also latinum (i dont know how to write it) nebulas.
