Whats your favourite/least favourite magic path?
 

Out of the good (and evil) magic paths which ones are your favourites/least favourites?

My favourites (from most favourite to least favourite)
1.Nature (I like nature spells)
2.Astral (The path is so...flexible)
3.Death (I see dead people....I see LIVING dead people!)
4.The Elements (I have no liking or disliking to any of them)
5.Blood (Blood slaves are hard to get for most nations.Except Mictlan that is!)

Not really, anyone that finds sages (or has cheap national randoms) should, unless they are quite unlucky have a comparable blood income with any other gem type. This is aside from nations like Abysia, Jotunhiem Base and Niefel, BF Ulm, DF Marignon, or even Base Pangaea with national blood mages that should easily get you more blood then you know what to do with.

yea, all you need is a province with a good population and 0 taxes. also if you can get wish and wish for blood slaves you get like 250 of them

you should try it with mictains priest kings and if you see an enemy army coming then a: run away, b:summon things with slaves you have or c:start capuring slaves and hope the big looking army makes him go away

Favorite: Air. Fear my elite electric mad skills. *does a little mad raving jig*

Least favorite: Blood. Never got around using it.

I like death magic but a lot of the commander summons seem to be of the 'yet another death mage' variety. Mound Kings, Demiliches, etc.

Favourite is Blood....I play Mictlan pretty much exclusivly so its a requisite.

I like Death but its based on how fast I get Mictipoctli as to how much I get.

Astral is cool....Angels.....

Fire.....nyeh.

Earth...nyeh

Water....love it, never play it.

Wind...no fricking idea, never used it.

Mictlan does get great blood but hell do you spend a lot sacrificing.

I've always had a liking for Earth. It has some unique, highly focused combat spells, loads of buffs, effective items and a worthwhile selection of summons.

Least favourite? Fire. Just plain weak, IMO.

yea and i would also say that fire summons arent the most helpful, my favourite really depends on who im playing but lately ive been leaning towards earth and astral

fire lions are by far the best elemental spirit summon though. fire has its strengths

but there are much better options for that ammount of gems ( get me enough vinekings to cast vine ogre 25 times ) but yes fire has its merits. but this is simply about favourite paths, not which is best so for now i will stop

I started to like Blood after I stopped feeling sorry for my population and created some Blood Factories (Red Amazons w/ dousers and a lab). Usually before that I stuck with Nature and Earth. I guess I got sick of moving dirt and lil' shop o' horror plants.

As an example of why fire magic is poor, take Marignon.

Now imagine them as 'Iron Faith' Marignon, identical to base Marignon, except they have earth magic in place of fire.

Much, much, better, IMO.
