Random Game (RAND) - (Slot filled with Ygorl)

Hello:

I am the host for the PBEM random / no diplomacy game (which has its own thread). One player (Teal) will be leaving and the end of this week. So, we are looking for a replacement player.

Any takers? We'd prefer to have no AI in this game.

what nation? what condition is he in?

Re: Random Game (RAND) - looking for replacement

The rules of the game (secret, random assignment of nations) means that we don't know. Pasha knows, because PASHA KNOWS ALL.

If you really want to know before committing to stepping in - send pasha a PM.

Hi shovah:

You did not respond to my PM to you, and so I assumed that you had decided against joining the game. Are you still interested? Since you were the first to inquire, I figure that you have first dibs. If you would prefer to pass, then the slot will go to Ygorl.

i responded and asked about the pretender and if you replied to that i didnt get the message

Re: Random Game (RAND) - looking for replacement

Problem is, if he tells a replacement about the nation & pretender, then he has to keep track of whom he has told, because if the player says "No", then they'll know that nation and the player who did take over the nation.

It's things like this that make the logistics of a 17 player anonymous game a nightmare, since someone is always needing a temporary substitute or a replacement player. Many thanks to Pasha and Alneyan for doing it.

Hi Shovah:

I actually responded to your PM days ago.

I will send you another.

Ah! But the dynamic is quite fun to watch as the "disinterested" but omniscient host. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif

Please let me know by the end of today (Friday) if you're still interested, because I'd like to fill the empty slot by tomorrow. Feel free to send me an email. (See above). http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Ok. Given that shovah has not checked in here for days, I will assume that he is no longer interested.

Ygorl! You're up, if still interested. I will send you a PM.

You should rate the nation which is open:

Is it cool or lame, rate it from 1 to 10! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Re: Random Game (RAND) - looking for replacement

But, every nation's a 10! Except mine, which is an 11.

No, seriously, correlating with graphs you could then glean estimates on who's who (assuming you could guess on how Pasha rated the nations): specifically, which nation is being played by a sub who supposedly lacks information and other assets a regular player has, thus making him a prime target for aggression.

The nation up for grabs provides an excellent opportunity to squish Griffin and Jurri. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/stupid.gif

Alneyan October 1st, 2005 03:13 PM

Re: Random Game (RAND) - looking for replacement

I so want to cut Jurri up! Besides, I already know what nation he is playing, so that would be perfect. Give'em to me!

(Warning: I am not being serious - as is usual)

Hmmmm... maybe I WILL give it to Alneyan. We'd all like a taste of roasted Jurri. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
