Updated to v1.3 on 9-29-2005 = Updated AI, Replaced EMP files, New Base images, new troop images added, replaced Troop Huge image.

IMPORTANT If you have already download previous versions, please download this new version and replace the old EMP files in Empires folder with the new ones from this version, v1.3.[/b] Otherwise you may get errors.

The set was updated for those who are interested. I replaced the base images with some that look more Imperial. Also I replaced the Huge Troop image. I did not like the look of it and the new one fits better. I replaced the AI and EMP files to give the set a more aggressive nature. Also I added a couple of extra troop images for those who like to have a choice in these things.

The Battleship is supposed to be the Imperial Star Destroyer?

What happened to;
-the Venator SDs and derivatives?
-the Nebulon-B medical frigates? (Don't forget, the Rebs stole them from the Imps)
-the Eclipse?

Bah, keep the nebulon-b frigates away. Imperials have nice angular ships, rebels have ovoid ships.

The set had to be converted from Imperial standard to SEIV standard. After all was said and done the ships all been sorted by SE IV standards and placed in approprate SEIV ship size slots. These slots differ from those in Star Wars. Feel free to arrange them in any manor you wish though. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

I just uploaded the latest version of the SW Rebellion mod in the SW mod thread, and I (think) scaled the ships to Star Wars proportions offcourse ussing a lot of AT's ships from both the Imperial and Rebel shipsets..........

It is called the Rebellion Mod I think. There is no Star Wars mod as of yet. I started to work on one, but quickly got bored with the idea as I could not concentrate.

the rebellions mod on spaceempires.net? It is seriously deprecated it seems? I tried it some days ago, the map crash, the components weight (life support etc.) at least 200 kt whereas you start with a 80 kt escort as the rebels, etc.

Anyone know why when I add Atrocities Imperial Shipset to the Devnull 1.71 devnull mod I get a windows load error window for 'Imperial 2k.emp'.

I added the 2k, 3k and 5k .emp Imperial files to the Devnull Empire folder as asked of me by the readme and I dropped the imperial.txt into the Devnull Dsgnname folder. The imperials load on the standard game, but not with Devnull 1.71 mod.

What do I need to do to get them to work?

Simple. Don't use EMPs.

Just let the game generate AIs randomly, and create your own empire yourself.

wait... when the AI generate an empire, it doesnt seek first if an emp file of the corresponding budget is here?

Well, yes, but EMP files are usually geared towards either stock or another mod. That means that some (or all) racial traits might not be included in the mod you're using. The game doesn't like that.

EMP files are only used when you add the empire manually. Random generation uses the AI_General.txt file, which very likely is just as incompatible with Devnull as the EMP files are. If you want an AI player to use that shipset in a Devnull game, you should copy the AI files from some other race that was designed specifically for that mod.

while we are talking of shipsets, will SE 5 features sublist names for various ships classes? I mean having a scout named " Juggernaut of Oblivion" and a DN named "Black Sparrow" can be funny, but well... I would prefer to have a more coherent auto-naming procedure.

Ya, I just have to find the time to add them to the set now. I think I will replace one of the exsiting ships with the Victory since it is pretty much a SW cannon ship.

I have added the two new ships to the set and re-arranged a few of the ships to fit in the Victory. The Victory is now the cruiser. I have other Imperial ships in the works, so whenever I get around to completing them, I will post them. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

I am kicking around the idea of making a simple Star Wars mod for SEIV Deluxe. To that end I creted a few more ships for the Imperial ship set.

I think these new ships might make it into the mod as carriers. I don't know yet. I know for certain that the new Rebel Ship will be a Carrier.

Imperial Lancer Frigate - mainly a light support ship that has superior anti fighter weapons.

Rebel ship - most likely a large carrier. (The imperials have a version of this ship, but it look more like an imperial ship.)

Actually it is not self invented. The Rebellion has this ship, its called the Liberator. As for the Empire, well it would stand to reason that they too would have a version of it.
