Re: Well, I just pulled another all nighter

I just downloaded it from my site without any problems. Are you on dial up faster?.

If on dial up, try this, its what I did just now. I opened it in a new window,( right clicking on the download link) and had it open it from location. (The top choice in the file download box.) You might try that, and then just unzip it into a folder.

Past that, I don't know what the hold up is. God you just have to love your ISP. (?)

Good luck, and let me know how it worked. Thanks. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif

You should use my Klingon speech file.

I was at work when I was trying to download the file (yes I know, company time... http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/ima...ons/icon12.gif ). At work I have a OC3 connection. If you are not certain what this means I usually get around 400 to 700kbps, fast, really fast. When I did finally get the file the average DL speed was around 5.5kbps, slow, really slow. Could be angelfire (the host) was performing some kind of maintainance...

OC-3 is a 155.52 Mbps SONET (Synchronous Optical NETwork) connection; if you're only getting 400 to 700 kbps, either you're sharing that connection with lots of people or the remote site is only allowing you that much bandwidth. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/ima...ons/icon12.gif

Sorry; couldn't resist showing off my knowledge of real-world stuff...

Right you are, I am sharing it with lots of people, a good section of my province in fact... http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif

Thanks for the Klingon Speech file. I have added it to the zip and reloaded it. Thank you. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif

Hey, if you have a good ability to download large files, download this, and watch it. Its kinda depressing, but never the less stirs the fire for space combat.

DS9 Music Video to Knocking on Heavens Door

You'll have to go to my site to download the video. A link to it is posted in the News Section. Enjoy.

Well, I just pulled another all nighter

Last Friday I was in an car accident, and had to take a few days off this week as vacation to get things in order. In addition, I get two day off in the middle of the week any ways, so it worked out fine for me. On Sunday I started another game of SEIV this time with the intent of actually finishing it before I change something around and screw it all up again.

I am playing as the UCP Dominion, and having a great time of it. I have the UCP Fed, Klingon, and Rom as computer controlled advisaries in addition to the EA, Narn, and The Borg.

All in all, the game has progressed well. I gave the AI good bonus and started on low tech with high cost. Somewhere between turn 120 and 160, the Borg were defeated as were two of the neutral empires.

Right now, I am stomping the crap out of the UCP Federation, but they are doing a grand job of keeping me on my toes as they work into a defensive posture. The Romulans and the EA just declared war upon me and attacked. The EA's first assualt took out one entire system. (Very impressive AI here Mephisto) The Romulans, using a variation of Mephistos AI, are intelling the hell out of me. I have had to beef up my intel 10 fold over the course of the Last 20 turns.

The Narn are just hanging back as are the Klingons. I wonder what they are up too?

Stay tuned.

(Oh ya, like I really have a life! http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif )

The Narn and Eee were rocking in my game as well. Eee were first for quite a while and the Narn have risen from 18th position to the 2nd spot. The modded AI's provide quite a different order of challenge that the original.

You can download the borg from my site. Just click on the address at the bottom of my signature. The Borg were set up to be aggressive, but I think the AI needs some help. I orignially got the borg from Warp_nines site. I have a link to his site in my links page. You could always reset up the borg to be really BA's if you wish. I have not worked on them that much. I have plans to tweak them both in the AI department as well as in the ship sets.

But they do offer a nice balance, and have a good speech file. I highly recommend them.

Thanks, I was just there. I read your post in the mods section of the forum. There seems to be a problem with the download though, I keep getting stuck at 24% oddly enough. I will keep trying though...

Ok, I got it and will try it out. thanks again.

I liked it. I'm gonna email the creator in a second and send my compliments. Very high quality. Great job!

I'm not really a huge fan of DS9, but that guy did a really nice job of synching his video clip with the music. I was impressed, going to try the Borg video, guess I should find out how that is in oh another hour or so. Wish my darn DSL supplier hadn't declared bankruptcy.
