Re: LZ-Xray topo map

Excellent job on that map Pyros!

Thats kind of how I do it except I put a level 10 hill at each grid connection where you put the digit grid coordinates. I haven't done it for a while and so am kind of rusty. I'll have to get back into practice.

Wow, gotta admit that's very impressive http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/shock.gif, I love the way you did the contour lines.

Re: LZ-Xray topo map with dense forest - stage 1

Stephane,

The bad thing is that with all the vegetation on it (dense forest) the curves won't be visible...

Re: LZ-Xray topo map with dense forest - stage 1

Pyros, you need to write a map making tutorial at some point and use this map as the basis/example.

Re: LZ-Xray topo map with dense forest - stage 1

Perhaps we could make this map tutorial a joint effort! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

I added some rough in the mountain to make somehow visible the slops and topo contours ( i think the LZ X-ray is visible in this part of the map (huge map with other LZs as well) http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

I guess I was lucky since the refinement stage has not yet started... I don't really know how much time should I spent on this phase? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/confused.gif

Re: ZOOM-IN of LZ_X-ray with color

That looks really great.
If we're going to spend this much time and effort (including playtesting) on all parts of the campaign though we may need some more help or time! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Re: ZOOM-IN of LZ_X-ray with color

Hi Remco,

No, Actually the LZ X-ray scenario should be released as a stand alone scenario as soon as possible (ASAP).
Although it will be included in the campaign, the stand alone scenario should depend on just historical units, deployed in the historical locations and we have to achieve the maximum historical accuracy (leader names, modified experiences, weapons etc...)

All needed modifications (of the units, etc) should be made in order to achieve the best possible historical simulation.

This is why I insist in this one so much.

After we finish it we may promote it http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/cool.gif as a 99% historical simulation of the battle of LZ X-ray.

So far (I think that there isn't any game in this engine or other PC game) that will have acquired this kind of historical (and map) accuracy...

After we finish that scenario, we will resume normally the campaign.
Of course this scenario (the map and most of the NVA & US formations) will also be used in the campaign; ToO No1 / chapter3).

Anyway, this stand alone scenario will be our first test to find out what is the level of professionalism (quality of work) that we may aim at... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif

cheers,
Pyros

In the next few days there will be a major revision of the map.
