Red Alert The Caspian\'s Are Here

I have had this set on the back burner for a while and am finally getting around to finishing it. Take a look

The name of the set will be changed and yes the ships do look familar but they are differant enough for me to say that this IS not a star trek set. (Ya right).

Any ways this set is just something that I wanted to make for myself and use in PBW games exclusively but now that I have had some time to think about it, that would be really pointless since I would have to release the set in order for others to be able to see my ships. Duhh.

Any ways, let me know what you think.

Nice set... but is there any difference between the baseship and the baseship-heavy? I don't see any difference... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/confused.gif

Look at the primary hulls. The soucer sections. (I could always add two more nacelles to the BaseshipHeavy....

Oi. Those ships are awesome. Even though i like all your ships a lot, those ships there look more "realistic", while still maintaining a good sci-fi look.

The surface reflectivity of your space-going vessels is appealing.

Looks great, and I can see the Excelsior-class influence, but if you don't mind my asking, why is this thread named "I have imploded!"?

I've imploded was just meant to get you to look at the thread. But since you have, here is a nice screen cap from the STM.

That's a screen capture from the Star Trek Mod? I wonder how you got those models to all appear to those various scales in the game? That's not an *SE5* screen capture is it??? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/eek.gif

Nice looking stuff, AT. And Strategia, an archaic meaning for the term 'implode' is 'to motivate into action' ergo AT saying "I have imploded!" could be read as "I have been motivated into action!"

Just saying is all...

Re: I have imploded!

Awsome! Now if someone would do a Dahak/5th Imperium shipset I would love them http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif as a matter of fact don't I'm off to do that right now!

BTW the proper "Inspiration" for those ships is the Excelsior block B construct (Also known as the Enterprise B class) because the extended "cobra head shape" on the main hull was brought about with the ENT B and introduced in "newer" Excelsior type starships.

Funny though the good ol' E's aren't built anymore http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif and according to one ST book I read the last one rolled off the line 20 years before Next Gen

Anyway I'm off to go make the 5thI a reality http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

When I first saw the ship in Star Trek III I thought it was ugly. Then when I saw it in VI I fell in love with it. Originally it was called the Ingram Class (Prototype).

When I got a model of the ship as a gift and assembled it, that was when I knew I had truly fallen in love.

Make that a third http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif .

Problem with making a 5th Imperium/Dahak shipset is that...well aren't the ships all just planetoids? Freakin' massive ships but mostly circular, no?

Starhawk October 26th, 2005 11:32 PM

Re: I have imploded!

Yeah that is one problem.....Fighters could easily be covered as their "Parasites" however with the larger fighters being sublight battleships and destroyers and cruisers.

Their planetoids are all well just that Sphereical Brass-Gold Planetoids with the main differences being purpose and size.

There are also a rather limited amount of Planetoid classes I know of:

Utu
Asgerd
Trosan
Vespa
Imperial Terra

I know there are at least two others but I can't remember their names at the moment.
I also think out of the above listed it the Asgerd and Imperial Terras are THE most powerful warships which would make them the Dreadnoughts/Baseships.

Re: I have imploded!

People really seem to be turning away from accepting new star trek sets. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif I said a long time ago that I was done making them and well I have held true to that statement.

I have update many of the sets, but I have not made a new set, aside from the Terran Empire, in over two years. (STM Federation sets don't count as they were on the books since 2002.)

This latest set has been half finished since last year and I just want to get rid of it. I started it back in 2002 and have done nothing with it since.

Once its done, I am done. I will update sets as needed, work on the sets that I have in queue now, and work on special projects for people but otherwise I plan not to make any more ship sets for SEIV. There really isn't a need now that SEV is coming out.

Starhawk October 27th, 2005 09:30 AM

Re: I have imploded!

Nah AT we like those ships I was just struck by inspiration for the 5thI ships as they could totally OWN just about every other sci-fiverse except Culture (So I hear I don't actually know Culture capabilities).

I just started reading the book and it's a Feddie wet dream lol I mean if star fleet had just ONE ship with the abilities of an Asgerd or Imperial Terra they could conquer the entire Alpha quad, then the Delta and kick the crap out of the borg http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Not sure I agree with you there. I think SEIV will be around for a very long time. I don't think I will have the money to go out and buy SEV anytime soon. Plus, I still really enjoy SEIV. SEV sounds wonderful, but it also sounds different enough from SEIV to allow both games to co exsist. I could be wrong about this since I have not played SEV yet.

(OT Will making MODs and shipsets be harder for SEV or just different? This may also determine how long SEIV remains a major player in gamedom.)

Mods will probably be easier; the game will use formulas.

Unfortunately, those of us who know how modding is in SE5 can't say, and no one else knows!

The Caspian Empire v 1.0

To View Race Click HERE

The Caspian Empire was founded in 2061 following the end of the Great Galactic War which left the galaxy in ruin and many colonized worlds isolated and presumably alone for all eternity. The deployment of the Armageddon Device forever changed the face of known space as it permanently ended faster than light travel within the Galaxy. The deployment of this doomsday weapon was the only way to permanently end the conflict that had brought about the collapse and the out right extinction of many great societies. Space travel was thought to be lost forever, but the wonders of the Universe chose otherwise. Slowly, almost methodically, a mysterious thread of pure energy ribbons began to grow between star systems. A virtual spider web network of interconnecting filaments began to establish themselves throughout the galaxy. These micro filaments grew into massive neutronic conduits for which man and machine could pass from system to system. These "warp points" become more and more stable as the years went buy. Finally, some 360 years following the end of the great war man was once again able to travel the stars.

Odd, I could never figure out MOO3's back story. It was so thick with manusha that there was no story.
