It's in the tutorial right under the line "Now take a moment to run your cursor arrow over the various buttons on the right of the screen. " You'll see a box with all the buttons described The green box beside the national flag is the replay button. Pressing " V " is the keyboard shortcut Don |

Go to your game data folder and open up the file Game Preferences.ini. Cut-and-paste the entire file and paste it into your reply to this post. I want to see what you have your preferences set to. Are you playing full or basic security ? Are these really large games or just small ones? Does this happen every turn ? Does your opponent see his arty? Which player are you...1 or 2 ? Don |

is this in-game fires, or is it pre game bombardment? is it HE fire, or cluster munitions ? Andy |
Re: Turn playback?
He says when he sees his arty..which is katyusha rockets...it lasts a long time, so he must have fast arty off....Mine is 105 priests and 60 mm mortars...he says he sees my arty fire but I do not..I see his rockets fire...this is from turn 4 on..no turn 0 arty was set.
I am player 2, fairly large game... how can I tell if it is basic or full security?? This is NOT during VCR playback by the way...just at end of turn.. I have not tried VCR playback yet...I will and let you know what I see. hope this helps [PREFERENCES] PREF_HIDDEN_FIRE=1 PREF_MUSIC=0 PREF_OBJ_FLAGS=1 PREF_SOUND=1 PREF_ID_TAG=1 PREF_HEX_SIDE=0 PREF_AUTO_RALLY=1 PREF_ANIMATION=1 PREF_MOVE_RADIUS=1 PREF_USER_PREF=1 PREF_BREAK=1 PREF_AMMO=1 PREF_COMMAND=0 PREF_MORALE=1 PREF_SPOTTER=1 PREF_MOVE_SHOOT=1 PREF_MINES=1 PREF_COUNTRY_EXP=1 PREF_SOUND_VOL=4 PREF_ANIM_LEVEL=4 PREF_DELAY=0 PREF_SPOT0=90 PREF_SPOT1=90 PREF_HIT0=100 PREF_HIT1=100 PREF_ROUT0=150 PREF_ROUT1=150 PREF_TROOP_QUAL0=75 PREF_TANK_TOUGH0=100 PREF_TANK_TOUGH1=100 PREF_INF_TOUGH0=100 PREF_INF_TOUGH1=100 PREF_ARTY_EFFECT=150 PREF_MAP_WIDTH=60 PREF_FAST_ART=0 PREF_POINT0=3500 PREF_POINT1=4250 PREF_AIR0=-1 PREF_AIR1=-1 PREF_AITKHVY=1 PREF_MAP_HEIGHT=40 PREF_TROOP_QUAL1=75 |
Re: Turn playback?
One thing I forgot to mention or ask about..
He is only sending me 2 zipped files the CMT and the DAT files. I notice the manual mentions 3 files?? Is he supposed to be also zipping the PBEM registry Dat file? |
Re: Turn playback?
Hi Alby,
I'm not sure if I understood you correctly but just to be sure, you do realise that in the CAMO games your own artillery always lands at the end of your opponents turn, never at the end of your own turn (unlike the spwaw versions). Narwan |
Re: Turn playback?
Yes,
As Remco noticed this is probably the problem. Alby's question is why he don't see his artillery after he hits the "End Turn" of his phase. So in order to make it clear: Artillery (0,1 delay) in WinSPMBT hits at the end of the next player's turn, while the same delay (0,1) in SPWAW hits at the end of the actual player's turn. Also, a 0,0 delay will deliver a full barage (for a 81mm mortar; 8 HE shells) while a 0,4 delay will deliver only the aprox 50% of the full barage (for a 81mm mortar; 4 HE shells). cheers, Pyros |
Re: Turn playback?
ok during vcr playback I do see my arty hit
But...why would I see his arty only and not mine at end of my turn? He sees his arty hit. I also see his strike aircraft attack too don't know if this matters or not. Man I am blind missing that big green platyback button at the top... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/eek.gif |
Re: Turn playback?
This is normal,
You should see his artillery missions at the end of your turn and he should see your artillery missions at the end of his turn. Now, if he is able to see also his arty missions at the end of his turn then perhaps this is the "special weapon" of Jad (his sixth sense http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif ) or it is something that I miss... cheers, Pyros |

The PBEM registry Dat was to be used for an idea when never implemented but may someday and has no ( current ) use in the game Don |

Pyros explained this in another post ======= Artillery (0,1 delay) in WinSPMBT hits at the end of the next player's turn, while the same delay (0,1) in SPWAW hits at the end of the actual player's turn. Also, a 0,0 delay will deliver a full barage (for a 81mm mortar; 8 HE shells) while a 0,4 delay will deliver only the aprox 50% of the full barage (for a 81mm mortar; 4 HE shells). ============= Different games handle arty different ways. We changed the arty routine in both SPWW2 and SPMBT some time ago while they were both still run in DOS to make using arty more of a challenge otherwise it's just too easy to use especially when you can shift three or four hexes so easily. When it lands at the end of your opponents turn you have to think ahead a bit more Don |
Re: Turn playback?
And when it lands at the beginning of your turn, it means you get the supression effects of the barrage without the opponent having a chance to rally away your shelling effects.
Cheers Andy |

so I am relearning all over again. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smile.gif here is a couple of sections of the manual that reference 3 files. All our found under the PBEM section, one starts out mentioining 2 then changes to 3. "In a remote game, player 1 now sends the 3 zipped up files to player 2, who places the zip file somewhere safe (remember to keep all the zips in case of need to reload) and unzips the files contained in this to his [WinSPMBT]\Saved Games or [WinSPMBT]\PBEM Games (if secure) directory under windows." "These 2 files are what we transfer to the other player, however, these can be rather large, and so it is best to zip these up using WINZIP, ensure that both of you use the same file compression utility, whichever you choose (negotiate this between yourselves as part of your battle setup emails). Winzip comes on the front cover CD ROMS of most decent computer magazines usually under the utilities section. It is the premier zip package, also at www.winzip.com. With winzip installed, there is a right mouse click extension to zip the files, select the 3, right click with mouse, select zip and enter a file name." |
