Screenies!

Quote:

Endoperez said:There are nations that have only one or two national spells such as Ulm. There might be some without any national spells, and there are few that are now the only ones capable of casting certain spells that were previously available to every one. As an example, Illwinter is restricted to Niefelheim/Jotunheim/Utgård. So, all nations don't have new national spells.

Oh, and MORE!

Show Caelumian stuff next. Or maybe Dreamlands R'lyeah...or..or...the evocation tree. Ah, anything will do!

Oh, and thanks for the pictures. I forgot to thank you on the first time around.

It's resistance, and it's on one of the three tribes. They are only resistant against cold, though, and thus don't have any immunities.

An insatiable thirst for forbidden knowledge? I know what I want to show, but I'll have to work a bit to get a proper screenshot. It will have something to do with the new insanity mechanic. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Re: Screenies!

Sorry, it seems I can't get a picture showing just what is happening. I'd have to show the commanders themselves, and the strategic view of what they are doing, and the unit view of the units that have appeared. I'll give you a description, instead.

I made a simple test with R'lyeh Dreamlands. I went through it a bit too quickly, and had Ghost King with Dominion of 1... Any way, I prophetized a commander and set him to preach, and waited. After about 10 turns, I have:

Snireth Co, a Cultist with S1H1
Antu, a cultist with H1
25 Atlantian/Mermen Dreamers. They are insane, fight with daggers, and have good magic res and morale. They dream and dream, never sure of what is real, so they are rarely afraid of things like fights or death.
12 creatures from void. In this case, 8 Lesser Othernesses and 4 Vile Things. Some appeared on their own, and I think a cultist summoned some.
24 Madmen (Atlantians and Mermen). They are mindless, insane, and need magical leadership.

The two cultists are insane, too. I never gave orders except for the prophet, but the two cultists have searched my capital for sites a few times, one of them was on "Call God" for a few turns (my Ghost King was just next to him, but hey, he's insane), one of them researched magic for a while (but he wasn't a mage, so it didn't help), and one of them entered the Void Gate for a few turns but I don't know if anything happened (except that he was eaten by a common Size 6 horror on the last turn), etc.

Enemy commanders also go insane in R'lyeh Dreamlands dominion. They might prech (perhaps even if they aren't priests?) Dreamlands dominion, they might get this strange command called "Fhtagn", they might defend the area and not take any other orders, they might study the stars, etc etc.

This was with only my capital. Few provinces here and there, and R'lyeh gets armies of insane or just plain mad creatures, and insane commanders that will usually lead them but might also look at the pretty flowers (or algea, or whatever) if they happen to want to do that.

Hmmm, Endo, do you know if it would be possible to mod the Void Gate to be above ground..?

I have never tested it, but I'd expect underwater sites could appear on ground. The aquatic Void spawn would drown the moment they are summoned, of course.

Isn't there a random site which acts as a Void Gate? I don't think I've ever found it myself, but I seem to remember reading about it. House Of Strange Lights? Strange House on a Hill?

Yes, there is a special site what acts like a void gate if I remember correctly, however I've never found it in my MP games.
Btw Endoperez, which one is the strongest Doms 3. creature what can be summoned? [According to your opinion] Can you post a screenshot about it if you can? I can't. I don't know enough. I could go for most expensive high-level summon, but Iron Dragons, Tarrasques, etc aren't exactly exiting.

The most powerful creatures are probably the new horrors. I'll show you a special ability of one of them. This particular power is from one of Umor's three forms. Umor is the Eater of Gods.

http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/thr...42543-temp.gif

Needless to say, Umor has pretty impressive magic resistance, and quite an array of abilities.

Nerfix, it's not a goat, and it's not for me. IIRC, Illwinter accepts orders in sacrificial virgins. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif

During one of my picture-hunting games, a Ninja tried to assassinate my commander. A picture of something else coming in a moment.

Here, you see a masterpiece of sword-forging. Samurai aren't really that exceptional, but their smiths sure know how to use those resources:

Also, the mages of Jomon have most interesting randoms, which is clearly influenced by the Way of the Five Elements, a type of magic originating from Tien Chi. Their two more powerful mages both have these randoms in addition to Master Shugenja's E1N1 and Onmyo-Ji's S2.

Actually, it's quite simple. In my mouse, one of the extra buttons is keyed as 'Enter'. I start up Dom3. New game, then clickclickclick to choose the map, era, nation in that order, then enterenterenter to get past pretender design, game settings, something, and to get to the game. It's much faster to start a new game now. It's REALLY nice for things like these.

If you don't have any more requests for today, I'll go to sleep. However, first I have to show off my contact in the police force. Decimus's a nice guy, and got a bigger, shinier badge just recently. He's in command of a group of the best border guards for the last 50 years. Most of them are in top notch, though, although some of the undead guys have a broken bone here and there. It's 40 living and 80 undead legionaires if you're wondering. A full regiment! They don't get higher in that, except in Foreign Affairs where they get more field experience.

I'll show you the description. There's a bit more information in the descriptions of e.g. Chiefs, Warrior Smiths, Shamans and Iron Warriors. Every tribe is lead by a triumvirate of a chief, a smith and a shaman. The chiefs lead in matters of war, shamen in ways of the spirits, smiths in judicial matters. Iron Warriors are sons of the smiths who don't follow the path of their fathers, but war with mauls and heavy (for Early Age) armor.

Not that I know of. They do have better equipment than most nations in LA. Imagine the world of Bronze armor a la base Pangea and Golden Era Arcoscephale, with occassional drop down to Mictlan and then few better-armed and -armored races. 14 is a respectable protection value in EA, even if I don't remember how it's divided between body and head. Good helmets sometimes raise the prot value quite a bit.
