Re: Screenies!
Nice! But what's up with the astral symbols?
Oh, and MORE! Show Caelumian stuff next. Or maybe Dreamlands R'lyeah...or..or...the evocation tree. Ah, anything will do! |

Re: Screenies!
Interesting, Caelum, err, Spire Horn gets shock resistance. Fitting though.
R'lyeh next? Oh, and thanks for the pictures. I forgot to thank you on the first time around. |

Yes! Forbidden knowledge! Gimmie!
Thank you very much Endo. |
Re: Screenies!
Sorry, it seems I can't get a picture showing just what is happening. I'd have to show the commanders themselves, and the strategic view of what they are doing, and the unit view of the units that have appeared. I'll give you a description, instead.
I made a simple test with R'lyeh Dreamlands. I went through it a bit too quickly, and had Ghost King with Dominion of 1... Any way, I prophetized a commander and set him to preach, and waited. After about 10 turns, I have: Snireth Co, a Cultist with S1H1 Antu, a cultist with H1 25 Atlantian/Mermen Dreamers. They are insane, fight with daggers, and have good magic res and morale. They dream and dream, never sure of what is real, so they are rarely afraid of things like fights or death. 12 creatures from void. In this case, 8 Lesser Othernesses and 4 Vile Things. Some appeared on their own, and I think a cultist summoned some. 24 Madmen (Atlantians and Mermen). They are mindless, insane, and need magical leadership. The two cultists are insane, too. I never gave orders except for the prophet, but the two cultists have searched my capital for sites a few times, one of them was on "Call God" for a few turns (my Ghost King was just next to him, but hey, he's insane), one of them researched magic for a while (but he wasn't a mage, so it didn't help), and one of them entered the Void Gate for a few turns but I don't know if anything happened (except that he was eaten by a common Size 6 horror on the last turn), etc. Enemy commanders also go insane in R'lyeh Dreamlands dominion. They might prech (perhaps even if they aren't priests?) Dreamlands dominion, they might get this strange command called "Fhtagn", they might defend the area and not take any other orders, they might study the stars, etc etc. This was with only my capital. Few provinces here and there, and R'lyeh gets armies of insane or just plain mad creatures, and insane commanders that will usually lead them but might also look at the pretty flowers (or algea, or whatever) if they happen to want to do that. |
Re: Screenies!
Dreamlands sounds like a lot of fun (and potential frustration). http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif
|
Re: Screenies!
Sounds very, very cool. I especially love the randomness of the insane commanders, and the "Fhtagn". http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif
Hmmm, Endo, do you know if it would be possible to mod the Void Gate to be above ground..? |
Re: Screenies!

Isn't there a random site which acts as a Void Gate? I don't think I've ever found it myself, but I seem to remember reading about it. House Of Strange Lights? Strange House on a Hill? |

Btw Endoperez, which one is the strongest Doms 3. creature what can be summoned? [According to your opinion] Can you post a screenshot about it if you can? I would like to see the spell itself and the monster if it is possible. Thanks in advance. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smile.gif |
Re: Screenies!
Oh. My. God. (Great lord Cthulu.)
That is the coolest game mechanic ever. |

The most powerful creatures are probably the new horrors. I'll show you a special ability of one of them. This particular power is from one of Umor's three forms. Umor is the Eater of Gods. http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/thr...42543-temp.gif Needless to say, Umor has pretty impressive magic resistance, and quite an array of abilities. |
Re: Screenies!
Vote for more R'lyeh Dreamlands screenies here as well. Lovecraft = teh good. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
*sigh* What I'd give for a review copy. |
Re: Screenies!
A heretic has recently spread lies about the self-chosen martyrs of Caelum, the noble warriors who gave up their freedom. Kneel before the faith that has willfully chosen the wingless existence of a Temple Guard!

YAY! That temple guard looks SO much better!

Endo, if you ever wind up visiting Hyvinkää I'll offer you a sacrificial goat. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif
|
Re: Screenies!
Ladies, Gentlemen and unidentifiable monsters, let me present you to a living, breathing Deep One! From the deepest gorges, from the bottom of the largest sea, from their great city of basalt, this rare visitor has arrived to, err, dine. Any volunteers?
http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/thr...42558-temp.jpg Nerfix, it's not a goat, and it's not for me. IIRC, Illwinter accepts orders in sacrificial virgins. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif EDIT: Was Goat Sun already present in Dom2, or is he new? I'm not very familiar with the infernal lords. |
Re: Screenies!
Is that a R'lyeh unit? It looks great. Awesome.
Endo, but can't I do any favours for a dedicated fellow fan? And sacrificing virgins is illegal. |

Also, I'm afraid I'll have to stop answering all your questions and image requests and try and give others some chances as well. Not that I'm worried that you'll start to stalk me or sacrifice goats on my lawn or anything, you know, but... let's call it "a strategy preemptive decisions" http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif |
Re: Screenies!
I'd like to know a little more about Jomon. What can you share?

Here, you see a masterpiece of sword-forging. Samurai aren't really that exceptional, but their smiths sure know how to use those resources: http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/thr...42575-temp.jpg |

EDIT: Hmm, it seems ninjas were the first thing that came to mind for both of us. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif |
Re: Screenies!
Ninjas!
But what does a ninja do with a chainmail? |
Re: Screenies!
Also, the mages of Jomon have most interesting randoms, which is clearly influenced by the Way of the Five Elements, a type of magic originating from Tien Chi. Their two more powerful mages both have these randoms in addition to Master Shugenja's E1N1 and Onmyo-Ji's S2.

No, you see you were supposed to gripe and moan about how much time you were putting into this, that you hadn't bathed in days and the police had come to the door looking for the dead body.

These are awesome. Can you give us anything for early R'yleh? They're the aboleths, right?
|
Re: Screenies!
If you don't have any more requests for today, I'll go to sleep. However, first I have to show off my contact in the police force. Decimus's a nice guy, and got a bigger, shinier badge just recently. He's in command of a group of the best border guards for the last 50 years. Most of them are in top notch, though, although some of the undead guys have a broken bone here and there. It's 40 living and 80 undead legionaires if you're wondering. A full regiment! They don't get higher in that, except in Foreign Affairs where they get more field experience.

BTW, I just realized Umor is the FIRST new creature you'll see after installing Dom3! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif Some kind of an eater of dreams or consumer of time would've fit a bit better for an icon, but he should do quite nicely. It's not like just seeing him would be dangerous!

Re: Screenies!
Moved from The Unforgiving Princess. Early Ulm is Enigma of Steel, a barbaric nation.

Thanks for showing early Ulm :-). It is something I am really curious about. You wouldn't show the statties on that hulking ubersword of Ulmness, wouldja? Do you know if in early era Ulm there is any mention of stuff we get later, like smiths or blackplate?
=$= |
Re: Screenies!
I'll show you the description. There's a bit more information in the descriptions of e.g. Chiefs, Warrior Smiths, Shamans and Iron Warriors. Every tribe is lead by a triumvirate of a chief, a smith and a shaman. The chiefs lead in matters of war, shamen in ways of the spirits, smiths in judicial matters. Iron Warriors are sons of the smiths who don't follow the path of their fathers, but war with mauls and heavy (for Early Age) armor.

Re: Screenies!
Early Ulm seems pretty interesting, and kind of...un-Ulmish with the sneak attacks.
|
Re: Screenies!
Ulm description made me wonder does Ulm have special "national items" to forge? Something made of steel?
