A Slavemage, Starchild and a Starspwan priest...
...went to a lab. But which one of them is the most cost efficient researcher?

Re: A Slavemage, Starchild and a Starspwan priest.
Late Age id go with Starspawn priests
The insanity takes over the slavemages, and starchildren fast compared to the starspawn and you'll lose alot of research turns and the annoyance of putting them back on research.. |
Re: A Slavemage, Starchild and a Starspwan priest.
True true, for the LA.
But what about MA? I'm somewhat partial to Slave Mages because they can get Astral/Nature combo which allows you to make use of the commonly found nature gem sites on the seas. Totem Shields and later on Moonvine Bracelets and then Clams, Hydra Armors, Thistle Maces and so on. But Starspawns are cheaper and they are sacred, thus they cost less, and they can be sent to the Gate. Hmmm, decisions decisions. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif I like buying couple of Slavemages to see if I get a nature one and then use him to search around while the others do research. |
Re: A Slavemage, Starchild and a Starspwan priest.
havnt played MA if the mages are basiclly the same id prolly have a bit of both.
Priests in capital since ill need an endless line of em to go die in the void gate. And then at the next underwater fort i built. Id start recruiting Slaves looking for a nature one as you talked about. But id have more Priests. |
Re: A Slavemage, Starchild and a Starspwan priest.
Yeah the mages are identicaly same.
Sounds not only like a plan, but also thematic. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif |
Re: A Slavemage, Starchild and a Starspwan priest.
I thought this was gonna be a joke thread along the lines of "So, one day a Slavemage, Starchild and a Starspwan priest are in an airplane..."

I was waiting for the joke, too, AMF.
A Slavemage, Starchild and Starspawn walk into a bar. The bartender says, "What'll you have?" They say, "Your soul!" They eat him and walk out. |
Re: A Slavemage, Starchild and a Starspwan priest.
Perhaps they should walk into the Void Gate. Slavemage goes in and comes out with a group of Lesser Othernesses following him. Starchild and Starspawn tell him he's very good for having gathered all of them. Starchild goes in and appears somewhere else a month later, very much insane, and with a Voidness he calls Mr Fluffy following him everywhere. After he becomes a prophet, Slavemage and Starspawn congratulate him but he doesn't seem to understand. Starspawn throws the Slavemage in, he dies, and after a short war against Ulm (which was won thanks to Mr Fluffy) and another, longer war against Vanheim (during which Starchild died trying to assassinate a Dwarf) a Visitor appears and tells that Slavemages taste like tuna.

Re: A Slavemage, Starchild and a Starspwan priest.
Relative efficiency depends on magic/drain scale, yes?
...and I was definitely thinking "...walk into a bar." when I saw the thread title. |
Re: A Slavemage, Starchild and a Starspwan priest.
A Slavemage, Starchild and a Starspwan priest walk into the Void Gate.
The Slavemage goes first and returns with no summons. The Starchild goes second and returns with no summons. The Starspawn goes third and Fthagn. |
