Hi Folket, sorry to be a pain (already), but I am already playing Caelum in another MP LA game. Could I have any other random nation in LA please?

Not played any of the others, typical my bad luck to draw the only nation I have already played... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

Well, take your time, we are not in a hurry to start the game, it would be fun to have ten or more players.

I will post IP/port once/if Ironhawk get a server up for us.

Please let Zebion be my neighbour, please let Zebion be my neighbour... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif, just kidding http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif.

The settings on this game r unusual, do a quick run through with yr nation, then design yr pretender...

Everyone should survive a long way into the game as u start with 5 provinces (a ready made buffer zone), will have lots of cash/resources so recruiting troops will be easy and indies 0, means u can conquer provinces with any old army (even bigger buffer zone), good game for someone of limited MP experience.

I'd like to join as well. Since Man is not taken yet I would love to play them.

Kydorias is Patala.
Zebion is Pangaea.

Saarud, I think you have missunderstod the thing here. It is all about randomness. You are not suppost to choose nation yourself. I got that you are to play Then Chi if you are still in under those conditions.

Saarud November 1st, 2006 05:17 AM

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

Ahh ok. As usual I was posting way to fast, I should have read the initial post better. Tien Chi is alot of fun as well (what nation isn't http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif ). So if its ok with you I'll still like to join.

Folket says:-
Since version 1.01 is coming any moment, we will not start the game before it arrives.

Just noticed this. I assume this game will be played with v1.01. Will I be able to play given I am already playing 4 other MP games with v1.00? Or will I after finish them before upgrading? I only have 1 pc, errm...perhaps installing again on different hard drive/same computer ie Dom3 v1.00 on C drive and Dom3 v1.01 on D drive. Is this possible?

Folket November 1st, 2006 03:51 PM

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

My guess would be that all games should be upgraded to v1.01 and continue.

Dexlyn it is random pick, you can't pick your nation, And yes it is random nations.

So when does this thing start? I would love to be handed back my pans on a platter.. Mmm, what would a pan taste like anyway? Deer, goat, person?

Folket November 4th, 2006 05:44 AM

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

Dexlyn, you are lucky, I got Ermor when I randomized for your nation.
FAJ is Abysia.
Teraswaerto is Mictlan.

I think we have enough players for this game now.

Folket November 4th, 2006 05:47 AM

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

Since the patch is out now we should be able to start the game any moment, but I'm waiting for a confimration from Ironhawk.

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

Sweet. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif Funny that this will be more or less the first Dom3 game I play, apart from the demo of course.

Seems like Ironhawk and his friend has problems with running dominions 3, but Ironhawk will contact me as soon as the problems are resolved.

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

Are we going to use the horror-nerfing mod to protect us from the bug?

Saarud November 8th, 2006 04:51 AM

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

As 3.02 are coming out in a week or so I think we are waiting for that patch. But I might be wrong if so then please correct me.

Btw since it was a few weeks ago we applied to be part of this game I guess plenty of players have already started in other games and might not be interested to join this one, when it starts, anymore.

Teraswaerto November 8th, 2006 07:28 AM

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

Don't really see why not, after all, the more games, the more games. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

I don't think there's any reason to wait for the next patch, but I'd like to know if we'll use the Hunter of Heroes nerf of not before I design my pretender.

I would just like to get this game off the ground

If there's still room, I'd like to play this game as well.
This will be my first multiplayer Dom2/Dom3 game...

Folket November 9th, 2006 05:16 AM

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

I would also like to start the game. If someone else is able to host then step forward, otherwise we will have to wait for Ironhawks friend to get dominions 3 working on the server.

If we start under version 3.01 we should use the horror mod. In other words, we will use the horror mod unless there is a new patch coming out before we get going.

I'm sorry but I would prefer if this game does not grow without bounds, if it grows bigger chances are good that I grow tired of it. Why don't you three start up a new game?

Sheap November 9th, 2006 07:11 PM

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

OK, server is ready to go. Will start it for uploads tonight.

I was not planning to use 3.01 due to the horror bug, and the fact that there is another game on the server already running under 3.00.

No idea when 3.02 will be out but hopefully soon http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

I will, as usual, also be available to sub for players who need a few turns off.

Can you just use the doom horror weakening mod? I don't have the cd to reinstall my game for 3.00

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

I don't think there are any compatibility problems using a 3.01 client with a 3.00 server. On the other hand, mods are a bummer to set up.

Is there anything in 3.01 that's actually worth having that makes it worth the effort?

FAJ November 9th, 2006 10:31 PM

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

Its the newest version, so most people are using it. It also fixes abysia for me http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif. (Blessables had their prec. and enc. switched by mistake, leading to super fast fatigue).

Sheap November 9th, 2006 10:43 PM

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

Given Abysia's encumbrance and precision it's hard to see that it would matter http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

I just don't like making everyone download a mod, but if a majority of the people support it, I will go along.

FAJ November 10th, 2006 12:38 AM

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

the mod takes about 15 seconds to download, put in and explain its function. Worth the time.

Unless that 3.02 is comming out this weekend, i see no reason to wait.

Teraswaerto November 10th, 2006 03:18 AM

Re: Late Age game random settings, random nations

It fixes many bugs, including ones that cause crashes, and using the mod is not at all hard. So IMO, we should use the latest version.
