R O T F L M A O

The Dead file. LOL - I thought DO did well in sales. Can you tell us how many copies sold?

Re: R O T F L M A O

We cannot disclose figures as per our contracts, but my title "the dead file" really had nothing to do with sales of any of our old titles and all about giving serving our past customers. As our company has gotten older, there are more titles "out-of-print" for one reason or another. Typically when a title goes out-of-print we archive the game forum for that particular title and remove it from view. However, people who bought the game previously then have no where to go to find other players or to ask game questions because the forum is gone from view. In order to show those past customers that we value their purchases we've decided to provide this area as a place they can still post.

The two subforums listed in this area used to be listed in the archive area at the bottom of the forum for users to browse. It made more sense, because they are both "out-of-print" to just move them into this forum so that it takes up less real estate in the forum (i.e. less scrolling). Who knows, we may resurrect other old forums and put them as locked subforums here as well. For now though, I just cleaned up the existing visible forums.

Lol, I started laughing too when I saw this, but can I make a suggestion, could this forum "The Honorably Discharged" as "the Dead File" sounds like some dark folder in a NSA desk. lol

But you know what, it goes to show that shrapnel supports their products and past developers and the fans of those product lines.

Ah I like The Honorably Discharged, sounds alot nicer.

Atrocities I think these forums are for games that are out of print but just never had a big community. DO might have sold well but almost no one ever posted in the forums.

Re: R O T F L M A O

We may be doing some other reorganization in a couple areas of the forums as well to aid in community development in those areas. And yeah, I might change the name, it's a new area so I am still adjusting things.

Can you comment on the actual number of units of DO that sold?

MUCH better. I was also bothered by "dead file".
Maybe its because Im retired military but I feel that Honorably Discharged is nicely respectful, and also fits into the theme of "Shrapnel" as a company name. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Ya, it seems like it would be nice to have the forums and also some more info (like the product info pages and old press releases) on products previously published by Shrapnel, for historical interest purposes. Shrapnel has published some interesting games in the past that aren't currently available, such as Steel Beasts and Runesword 2! Having some more info would show some more of the neat games Shrapnel has offered in the past.

Honorably Discharged is a great name. It drew my eye right to the forum, as well as being a little less disturbing than the Dead Files, which sounds like a movie with James Woods and Gillian Anderson.

Re: R O T F L M A O

Hey I like James Woods. Did you know he was on a plane with one of the terrorists of 9/11 and even made a positive ID when shown pictures of them before any one else had seen them. Very freaky.

Re: R O T F L M A O

I like James Woods too. I think he's highly underrated.

Alas, I had typed the wrong name though. I meant Christopher Walken, whom I don't normally get confused with James Woods.

I had a teacher once who had hair like Christopher Walken. He once said he knew why Walken's hair looked like that: "It had looked down one day and gone, 'oh, my god! I'm on top of CHRISTOPHER WALKEN!'"

Cool guy, but as somebody once said, he could play Jesus and still make him seem really, really creepy.

Man, I'm getting off topic here. Sorry, Mindi! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Christopher Walken... man those eyes.. those blue saphire eyes! He is one of the most intense looking actors ever.

I love his acting.. I really enjoyed him in Catch Me If You Can and Joe Dirt. Give him a simple role and he will make an oscar worth performance every time. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

I once watch Kevin Spacy (sp) do an impersination of CW as Han Solo. I laughed my *** off. Kevin Spacy is one very talented actor too. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Re: R O T F L M A O

I stumbled across a link to the following item earlier today. It's Christopher Walken's reading of Poe's "The Raven". Very much worth listening to, IMO.
