WINNER: Frank Trollman (Small EA MP)
1 Attachment(s)
I'm testing another version of my "fair start site" creation script. This time it also makes all provinces adjacent to the capitals site-rich and large. There will be six start sites with at least six neighbors each, and at least three provinces between them. This map has minimal ocean and no water start-sites.
The map as a whole will be slightly rich - 125% supply/gold/resource with a site frequency of 65. There will be 1 VP per capital plus 4 provinces worth 3 VP, you will need 10/18 VP to win. All other settings will be normal. The game is called "150mp". I will take Abyssia. There are only *six* slots available. Please claim nations as soon as you do so on the thread. If we could do an early blitz to start the game (I am free late-night, after 8:30 PM Eastern Time, tomorrow and Thursday), that'd be nice. IP addr - 160.39.37.114 Port - 11112 Okay, the game seems to be full. Go ahead and upload pretenders. DrPraetorious Abyssia Havis Ulm Reverend Zombie Mictlan FAJ (pending....) Id be in for this. Im up for a scheduled blitz.
Ill choose a nation by tonight. |
Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich
The blitz - if we do one at all - will be as many turns as people can play http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif.
First MP game is fine as long as you've played SP enough that you think you can manage. |
Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich
I like yr games DrPraetorius, could I join as Niefelheim?
I am free to blitz away tomorrow night after 0830pm EST (day off, http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smile.gif), but not the night after, as that is the about the time I start work! Off work all next week, so could do a blitz, anytime next week with enough notice, cheers. |
Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich
I'd like to run Sauromatia.

Sorry, shovah32, game appears to be full http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif. If anyone backs out you can have their slots - and I don't believe in forcing people not to take agressive builds - skilled opponents can deal with it.

Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich
Whoops, miscounted nations (since FAJ hadnt picked i forgot to count him)

Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich
I chose C'tis. It didn't let me upload my god, I just chose the nation and it said "You god is now in control of C'tis".
P.S. I am good for a blitz weekday evenings. Wenesday 8:30 is fine. |
Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich
FAJ - how many different C'tis gods do you have stored in newlords? If you only have the one, it selects and uploads that one automatically, so you might want to doublecheck that it's really the build you want.
If it isn't I think you can just upload a replacement God. |
Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich
I only had one, and i wanted it. This is my first time playing C'tis in Dom3, so I only had one god. Never played an MP before with a nation I only had one pretender before.

Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich
Sauromatia is up.

Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich
Okay, the game is started.
If we can blitz a few turns tomorrow night - great. I'll be getting home at about this time (check the timestamp on this message). If you want to download the rgb file directly (and spare my poor computer) I'll attach it and the map file to the root post shortly. |
Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich
8:30 tommorow blitz then?
Anyone who cant make it? |

When i try to enter the game i start "receiving map image". When the bar is completely loaded the game quits...i think its not a nice problem...
|
Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich
Download the map directly from the attachment at the root of this thread and place it in your "maps" directory.

Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich
Ok thanx, im in, done my first turn.
Do you know by what my previous problem could be caused? |
Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich
No idea, downloading maps always works when I try it.
What version are you running? You've patched, yes? |
Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich
Yep but i tried to reinstall and its the same without the patch too
|
Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich
bugrep it.
|
Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich
Game will be down until morning while I run some updates and installs and things.
|
Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich
Back up.
|
Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich
Fantastic.
Random events destroyed my only lab, dropped my income to <300 and cursed the few units I had left, after having my 100+ unit army slaughtered to the man by 7 knights and 10 archers. Now my last living commander is diseased with one hp left. This is the first game I have taken a neutral luck scale. I usually go 2-3 misfortune. By the way, what happened to the blitz we wanted to do? |

Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich
Communication may not have been 100% clear - we can try again if people show http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif.
That's some awful luck, FAJ. I got a free warlock lord and a pile of money (of course, I have 3 fortune.) |

Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich
Good news! The rest of my army got slaughtered by a force of bear tribe warriors that I outnumbered! Now I dont have to pay upkeep and can just barely afford to rebuild my lab!

Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich
I'm off for turkey this evening.
Keep on keepin' it real, TNDP |
Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich
We'll keep it real. Also, our counterattacks against the cowardly invasion by the Niefel forces will be swift and hilarious.
You have violated the lands of Pax, Prepare for the inevitable. |
Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich
Oh, he invaded? I claim his left arm!
|
Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich
Quote:
I hope you leave my left arm alone Abysia, I am rather attached to it don't you know! Why attack another nation when you have so many indie provinces left to conquer and thus grow into a even bigger, mighty superpower? While you gobble all the indies, I will bleed Sauromatia, severly weakening a rival superpower to your mighty nation. You can then dismantle us both at your liesure. Much better strategy. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif |
Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich
Despite the incredibly bad luck, and unfortunate oppurtunists, this has been a very enjoyable game for me.
Although i have learned that I don't like C'tis that much, so Im glad Im out of the game so early. |
Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich
I am sorry, what should i have done? Take it easy friend, its not my fault, you could have tried maybe a serious diplomatic approach :-)
I hope you are not angry on me. Exscuse me, the server is 3.00 or 3.01? |
Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich
3.01.
|
Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich
Im not angry, and I wasn't going to bother being diplomatic about it. I would have been playing the whole game at a disadvantage, and living on borrowed time. It was my first time playing C'tis, and I didn't realize 150 infantry could be slaughtered to the man, by 7 calvery and some slingers. That, plus random events, put me about at first turn resources, army etc, on the 10th turn.
No hard feelings. I will crush you. |
Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich
Yeah! That's talking!
|
Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich
OK, so Niefelheim is attempting to be Coy. Well, we aren't buying it. Their troops march up and down the border as some sort of cosmic game of whack-a-mole, but we will find them in the field and destroy them, of that we are certain.
They say there are three routes into Niefelheim. This is not true. You have angered Pax, Prepare for the inevitable. |
Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich
So we decided to invade Niefelheim all over the place, with marching armies hither and yon. The Jotun obediently divided their forces into bite sized pieces which we fed to hydras. It was a great day to be alive.
And in Sauromatia. You have received the word of Pax, Prepare for the Inevitable. |
Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich
Quote:
Have you all seen the VP chart and how close Sauromatia is to winning? Anyway, he is playing a gather gigantic horde strategy, best/cheapest troops he can recruit with 3 hydras per army. He is spamming anything cheap out, vinemen, undead, casting raise dead/skeletons on the battlefield. Currently I am being assaulted by 4 armies each about 120 strong. SO HIS OTHER BORDERS ARE COMPLETELY OPEN TO ATTACK, probably only PD + chaff, so if anyone as got any sense I would pile right in to Sauromatia ASAP. He is going for a rush strategy...in this case a rush to an early victory...not that I am overly bothered anymore. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif I no matter what, am pretty much done for, will fight and try to hold out as long as possible... |
Re: 6 players, 150 prov., early era, slightly rich
The way of C'tis is more soothing than it sounds.
|
And then there was 4...
Abysia has conquered Gol Ryepe (89), the location of Nielfelheim's second fortress and he has taken the province of Florien (10), which contains a banefire forge.
Elsewhere, Sauromatia sieges Nielfelheim (111) itself, it too will soon fall. Nielfelheim's armies have been beaten and scattered to the four winds by the combined might of Abysia/Sauromatia, the sons of winter are no more... Game over for me people, it was rather enjoyable being ripped apart in a perverse way, very different from my other 6 MP games that I am in! Thanks for the game everyone and thanks to Dr Praetorious for being a excellent host. Good luck everyone... |
Re: And then there was 4...
Even as Abysia has stolen our Black Tower, we have our first genuinely good news to report in a while.
Niefelheim's advance into our lands has been turned back completely. We bring fire and death to their capitol in repayment for their ill-timed invasion. Further, Mictlan has for the first time been repulsed from our castle, their Jaguar Warriors and Pegasi heaped in bloody piles so that their skin might be eaten properly. Now we shall have the power of Mictlan, and even now we are preparing a devastating counterattack. Can we prevail against three ravenous empires throwing their sacred troops against our poisoned arrows? Probably not, but with Niefelheim falling soon we may yet be able to pull out a victory. You have heard the will of Pax, Prepare for the Inevitable. |
Re: And then there was 4...
"Tell me if you've heard this one." rumbles Knife Bright Insight, the iron God of the Abyssians.
Malphas wants to scream. Yes I've heard this one I'm a demon from the pits of hell! I've heard them all! Instead he says, "go on, Lord." "Three women, a blonde, a brunette and a red-head, are sitting outside the wise woman's hut since, you know, they're... whascalled... Pregnant?" Malphas suppresses a wince. "Yes, oh Lord of the World." "Anyway, then, the blonde one says, 'I'm going to have puppies!' Wait, did I leave a bit out?" The assembled children of Rhuax, the council of war, laugh obligingly. Malphas manages to strangle out a chuckle. "Hysterical as ever, great one." When the children of Rhuax decided to smelt themselves a new God, a great one-eyed thing of pure steel, they determined that the future ruler of the whole world should have a sense of humor. "So, are we invading Sauromatia yet?" Malphas sighs. "No, oh great one. The armies of Ulm have invaded us from the east. We're withdrawing until that invasion is repulsed." "Oh." says the iron titan, disappointed. "How many Ulmites does it take to hammer a peg into a wall?" "Three divisions of about 350 warriors each, plus an approximately equal number of reserves." Malphas replies. The Great God pauses. "I don't get it." "You'll get to crush over two thousand warriorss with your might and power, Lord." He perks up considerably. "Oh, that sounds like fun." "Yes, it will be *wondrous*," says Malphas, practically drooling over the prospect of the coming carnage. "Make another ring while I go and talk things over with the Prophet, hmm?" The cyclops nods agreeably and turns back to his forge, where he hammers rings of earth and life power engraved, of course, with jokes. "You wish to speak to me of the blood of innocents, in which our pure and noble God will be made to bathe?" asks the Prophet. Malphas snorts. "If you did not need the power of blood to triumph, you would have forbid me to spread my teachings, oh Annointed One." The prophet sneers. "Perhaps. But to corrupt my already degenerate cousins is one thing - our God, whom we have raised to restore our Glory? This is quite another." "The power of blood will return you to your full majesty, my friend. And winged, besides." The prophet snorts. "This may also come to pass. But I will that you stay away from the Great One." Malphas smiles. "We will discuss it again after the coming battle?" The prophet nods. "Yes. Our situation will be greatly clarified." Malphas nods. "As you command, so shall it be, lord." |
