Rules = standard + 15 Hall of Fame + no graphs + 50 magic sites

I'd love to play, especially such a laid-back game! I don't think I can host, though. I'd prefer MA, mostly because the two MP games I've played so far have both been EA, and I'm sick of Helheim being in the game http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

I would prefer nation choice, but I'd be okay with randomly selected nations too.

I'd like to play, any age is fine, but I'd like choice of nation so I can try a new one: Pangaea. Random nations is ok if that's what others want.

Count me in please! A turn a day sounds delightful .. I have only played by hot seat until this , so I'm very excited. I prefer early and middle ages , but late will do as well.

P.S: I would lend a hand on hosting, if I had my setup ready. I'm writing a (series) of Python scripts to automatically host a game/send the turns to the players/backup last turn with a few more bells and whistles. But it's still in the very early stages.

Hi all

Seems we have enough players. I'll try and host it, but I might need to fiddle a bit because it's a first time, should be OK..

- It's Middle Age game
- I suggest we play a medium random map
- standard setting, except Hall of Fame 15 entries
- pick nations

Those who have not chosen a nation yet, do so now. I can also (random) pick for you if you want.
Just name your nation, who's first is first! I'll update the first post with the chosen nations.

What's a medium map, 20 provinces per player? And what will be the amount of water provinces? I suggest using 20 water provinces (or whatever ratio is used in "medium" maps) per water nation.

Since my pretender design depends a little on these type of issues I'll dfelay sending it until we have a more complete notion of the nations that are playing, size of map, etc.

Medium is 15 provinces per player... Latest medium map I checked (for 13 players) had 25 water provinces.

not playing random, so you can choose a nation and post it here. If you see that you are the first, you can send me a Pretender.
If you still want yours to be random, I'll appoint you a nation and update the list on the first post.

Seeing as how one of my other games just ended I am able to play this one and still have room in my schedule for a LA game if one starts up.

Ooh, is there any chance of me joining ? Let me know if someone drops out...I just started my first MP game but one turn per 24 hours isn't enough to satisfy me, so I'm on the lookout for more MP games.

Oops, sorry for the delay guys, forgot I signed up for this. Slim pickings on the nations left, guess that's what I'll get. I'll give the monkey men a try, sending pretender now.

I know that it takes some time to get all pretenders together and start a game, but I do hope the actual turns will run a bit more quickly... I know this is supposed to be a relaxed, casual game, but will there be any deadlines in terms of turns? It always is annoying to wait a day or two on one person.

Yeah, I agree it'd be nice to have a set host schedule, maybe 2 to 3 times a week (or whatever the consensus is of what "casual PBEM" means) that we all try to have our turns in. With a long term game like this and this many people, it's unfortunately likely somebody is gonna be real tardy regularly or just up and disappear on us.

My vote would be for a reasonably prompt baseline schedule (every 2-3 days or whatever), but with lots of flexibility for times when people can't get their turns in on that schedule.

There are limits, though. If one person is consistently being late without warning/explanation, we and our esteemed host may want to deal with that.
