Nice list. You can also wish for a specific unit by wishing for the unit's name and for a specific item in the same way, you have to enter what's in the title bar when you look at the unit/item.

Re: Full list of things to *wish* for

'Vis' is an Ars Magica term, and usually replaced by "gems" in Dominions. IIRC, both "gems" and "magic gems" have the same effect.

"Maker of Ruins" is one of the Doom Horrors, but it can't be wished for. Maybe there's a typo in the .exe and the "Vis.maker of ruins" is meant to be "Vis;maker of ruins" or something.

lch March 11th, 2007 10:18 AM

Re: Full list of things to *wish* for

"Vis" is the same as wishing for "gems", yeah, it gives you exactly 25 gems of everything but blood.

I could wish for "Maker of Ruins" and it made Kurgi, the slave to unreason, appear. So it seems like it is the same as "doom horror". Interestingly, Kurgi didn't appear as normal unit that one had to use Gift of Reason on, but as commander from the start. Unfortunately, he can't break a siege even though he is missing the "Immobile" icon. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

"Nothing" does nothing, I guess.
"Money" and the others give you exactly 3k gold.
"Army" is the same as "troops" etc., it gives you exactly 300 militia.

Re: Full list of things to *wish* for

Can you make the classic wish for more wishes?

Oh, and "artefact" is almost Swedish, the real word is "artefakt".

Re: Full list of things to *wish* for

All of the doom horrors appear as commanders, whether wished for by typing in "doom horror" or by typing in one of their names (you'll get a random one). Kurgi doesn't obey movement orders, but the others do. All of them vanish after some time, and might attack the summoner. However, the last time I tested it, I couldn't get the Maker of Ruins.

Population (which is probably the same as commoners) makes a group of people attack the province, but also increases population.

lch March 11th, 2007 11:16 AM

Re: Full list of things to *wish* for

"Armageddon" and the such are as some earth magic spell cast on every province, forgot the name. But I believe that one third of your population dies, so it might be Volanic Eruption.
"Provinces" gives you some random provinces.
"Gold" is the same as "money".
"Hero" gives you a (random?) hero.
"Food" gives you some bags of wine and cauldrons of broth.

Re: Full list of things to *wish* for

editing list each morning while there are replies...

I never saw any people attack my province when I did populace and the latter, I'll retest it. updating gems, gold and army.
Could someone test enemies? It didn't seem right. And army only gave me one militia but I'll update it as well, could someone confirm?

Re: Full list of things to *wish* for

power gives +20 strength and +50 hp and + 5 to attack, defense, and precision. (stats)

subsequent wishes have half the returns: 25hp/10str/ 2.5 stats
you may be thinking 2.5 stats? whats that mean?

that means on the second wish for power you get +2 to atk/def/prec. on the third you get +3 each, on the fourth you get +2... etc. (the .5 is rounded down for showing stats, but exists to be added to subsequent wishes)

"stronger", "strength", "hit points", etc. are the exact same effect. (stronger gives hp and stats too, hit points gives strength and stats)

Wish March 11th, 2007 08:04 PM

Re: Full list of things to *wish* for

"hero" is not random in dom 3 (i think it was in dom 2) it gives you the hero with the lowest creature number, namely the arcosephale hero named Anthromacus.

the same goes for erinya. you only get the first of the three, who is unique, so subsequent wishes will only teleport her around.

wishing for a djinn is ok, but if the lamp is forged ALL djinns go away.

wasn't there already a thread for this?

Kill <name> doesn't work. it results in "I cannot give you that"

innaccurate. when you wish for an item, if your wisher can equip it, it will show up equpped. (so cursed items are stuck on the caster... until you wish for another item for the same slot)

the item currently worn in that slot goes to the lab, whether it is cursed or not.

if you don't have a slot, then the wished item goes strait to the lab.

Re: Full list of things to *wish* for

Thanks Wish...

I'll retest hero soonish, understood lowest creature count but didn't understand everything after.

Assuming I read the fourth one right.... by the item disappearing I meant that if you previously had the item, the previous items will disappear. Like say you wished for an artifact and got uhhh... super-cool spear. If before the time you cast the wish, someone else had a couple super-cool spears, theirs will disappear.

Everything else is edited. And I couldn't find a dom 3 wishlist, only an incomplete dom 2 version.

I think there has been a thread on this here before. There's a few things that have been mentioned here that I don't remember reading on it though

I was under the impression that most were the same as Dom 2?

Re: Full list of things to *wish* for

theres some new words accepted, for instance wishing for a horror gave you a horror in dom 2, in dom 3 you get the doom horror effect.

Wish March 16th, 2007 05:32 PM

Re: Full list of things to *wish* for

interesting note: wishing for "magic power" or anything with the same result is registered in the game as having used all the gems necessary to empower (even though it takes no more than the original cost of wishing)

what this means is kindly ones will attack a wisher who is using this string, because they perceive that he must have sacrificed virgins to empower in blood.

edit: apparently only on "empowerment" from zero to 1 blood. I am not getting attacked with subsequent wishes. or maybe i didn't notice a vampire count event that turn or something (in which my wisher killed a virgin or two)

Wish March 18th, 2007 12:55 AM

Re: Full list of things to *wish* for

it appears wishing for "population" (and similar strings) actually steals population randomly from across the map - sometimes taking the defending armies as well, which will then attack the province holding the wisher.

What is the wish for the Chalice? Just "chalice"?

vfb April 28th, 2008 01:12 AM

Re: Full list of things to *wish* for

You need to wish for Artifacts by name, in this case "The Chalice".

Lingchih May 11th, 2008 09:02 PM

Re: Full list of things to *wish* for

And the wish for a Seraph? Just "seraph"? Or will "angel" work?

Re: Full list of things to *wish* for

I wonder if you could use this....

If you had only one or few territories.. does it only give you population in one territory...

With one territory, can you steal from multiple territories?
Could you bring lots of armies.. onto a place you were being seiged?

Loren May 12th, 2008 11:51 AM

Re: Full list of things to *wish* for

What's the point in the wish for territory? You get random provinces, not connected to your empire and if there are any troops there it's immediately retaken.

What is the name of the King of Hell?

Re: Full list of things to *wish* for

Belphegor (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belphegor) but you need to summon him by his unit name: http://dom3.servegame.com/wiki/Lord_of_Hell

Re: Full list of things to *wish* for

It you wish for a unit, say the Lord of Hell, and you then wish for the Lord of Hell again, do you then have two Lords of Hell or does the one you already have appear in your laboratory?

Soyweiser January 5th, 2012 09:59 AM

Re: Full list of things to *wish* for

Second one.

Soyweiser January 5th, 2012 01:12 PM

Re: Full list of things to *wish* for

To clarify unique creatures are unique, there can be only one of them. If it already excists iirc it gets teleported to the wishers location.
