Do you anticipate keeping the 24H cycle for the whole game?

Re: Veturi - LA (Looking for Players)

You can count me in. I must warn everybody though, I'm a newbie (in MP, not in Dominions).

I'd like to take C'tis.

Re: Veturi - LA (Looking for Players)

Man, please.

tibbs June 18th, 2007 05:37 PM

Re: Veturi - LA (Looking for Players)

I'll take tien-chi please.

Cooron June 20th, 2007 05:24 AM

Re: Veturi - LA (Looking for Players)

Once the game progresses im open on discussion on switching the host cycle to 48h or whatever the majority wishes. There wont be email notifications.

Also there game wont be hosted on 23th, but will be up around Sunday afternoon. (since 3/5 of us will most likely have something planned)

Re: Veturi - LA (Looking for Players)

Are you still open, and if so, how long might I have to pick a nation? I'm very interested in joining a second mp game. Though I'll have less time to think about strats than in my other game, I'm not adverse to diving right in. From my reading of that last post, you've either started (with days off on sunday) or you're going to start right after.

Cooron June 20th, 2007 06:06 AM

Re: Veturi - LA (Looking for Players)

Still open. Will take a look if we are ready in the evening (11:50am here now).

Right now Pangaea and T'ien Ch'i have uploaded their pretenders and Ermor should when he gets home from work.

The game starts, hopefully today, but will be paused during saturday because of irl pagan rituals.

Lazy_Perfectionist June 20th, 2007 12:46 PM

Re: Veturi - LA (Looking for Players)

Today? I'll try and pick a nation within the next 15-25 minutes. And given my 2:00 shift, Upload a quick pretender within the next hour.

Atlantis.

Ferrosol June 20th, 2007 01:20 PM

Re: Veturi - LA (Looking for Players)

If it is not too late I would like to join as Maringnon

Re: Veturi - LA (Looking for Players)

It's looking more like not being able to send off my pretender by the time I head off to work. I get off work by 10 PM, I have a pretender already in mind, though I have to factor in the CB mod's significant change to the chassis. I should have one out by midnight tonight, 1:00 AM at the latest. Sorry for the delay.

Lazy_Perfectionist June 21st, 2007 04:41 AM

Re: Veturi - LA (Looking for Players)

I've got a pretender designed, but I'm afraid I must ask a couple stupid questions.

Should I password protect my pretender, and where do I upload my pretender?

Burnsaber June 21st, 2007 05:14 AM

Re: Veturi - LA (Looking for Players)

Yes, you should password protect your pretender. If you don't someone just might decude to make your turn, and be able to do it.

Use the "Connect to a Dominons server" - command and insert the IP address and Port number given in the first post.

Then you just click on atlantis and upload your premade-pretender. (you can premake pretenders in the "Game Tools" - menu)

Re: Veturi - LA (Looking for Players)

Thanks. It turned out I was confused because when i only had the one, it wasn't as obvious as when there were two.

I've uploaded my pretender.

So.. I don't click start, correct, and the game name is laventuri? I needn't do anything else yet except keep an eye on the thread for gamestart?

Cooron June 21st, 2007 08:50 AM

Re: Veturi - LA (Looking for Players)

Correct. Just sit on your hands until the game starts.

Didn't quite make it home last night, but trying to get there tonight. Not sure how many have uploaded yet but if everyone is ready when i get home, then ill start the game.

Cooron June 21st, 2007 03:18 PM

Re: Veturi - LA (Looking for Players)

Ok im home, bit later than i expected but meh..
Seems like everyone has uploaded so im going to start the game.

Burnsaber June 21st, 2007 03:47 PM

Re: Veturi - LA (Looking for Players)

Hmm.. I seem to experoemce some technical difficulties. I try to do my turn, but it insists that I install CBgods_ 1.1 althought I have CB 1.1 complete installed.

I went to the CB thread but the links there have either expired or don't work. My email is Burnsaber(at)hotmail(dot)com if someone would be so kind as to e-mail it to me?

EDIT: E-mail adress confused by the advise of llamabeast

That one doesn't seem to work (for me, at least). It reads "your download is starting.." for like 2-3 minutes and then IE gives me "IE cannot show this page" message.

It can't be my safety settings, because I can download attachments and other thingies fine. Is the link working for someone else, I wonder?

tibbs June 21st, 2007 04:30 PM

Re: Veturi - LA (Looking for Players)

I am having the same problem. I click on the link and it says "contacting mediafire.com" but the download never starts.

Please email it to me at tibbs1976 [at] hotmail.zug (change zug to .com)

Thanks for the heads up

llamabeast June 21st, 2007 04:41 PM

Re: Veturi - LA (Looking for Players)

Tibbs - I would confuse your e-mail address a bit so it can't be found by evil spam bots trawling the web for e-mail addresses. Something like tibbs1976 (at) hotmail (dot) com.

I had the address for my server un-confused on the forum for a couple of days, and it's received several spam e-mails since. Scary.

Lazy_Perfectionist June 21st, 2007 05:07 PM

Re: Veturi - LA (Looking for Players)

I've heard you can set up a hotmail account, neither mentioning nor using it, and withing three months, start receiving spam mail.

Spam is pretty hard to avoid. Where I work, last month our domain received 5.9 million emails. 5.2 million of them were filtered out as SPAM!

Re: Veturi - LA (Looking for Players)

I got the dreaded 'Tien Chi has cheated" message. I assume that the right mods
were not enabled when the player made his pretender. Shall we restart?

Lazy_Perfectionist June 21st, 2007 10:28 PM

Re: Veturi - LA (Looking for Players)

Not a problem for me, since I get off work at 10, and haven't had a chance to do much. I can upload the version of whatever mod when I get back, if you can't get the right one off the web.

tibbs June 21st, 2007 11:53 PM

Re: Veturi - LA (Looking for Players)

I had the wrong CB mod. I installed the correct CB mod now and was able to log in. It said my god was reduced in power. I hope it didn't fudge up my blesses I took.

Lazy_Perfectionist June 22nd, 2007 12:35 AM

Re: Veturi - LA (Looking for Players)

Hmmmmm.... I may be in the same boat. I'll see. I had the complete cb mod enabled when I uploaded the pretender, but when I connect it says I don't have the god mod enabled, though I certainly saw he father of frost with his air.

Are we using only the god mod, or the complete cb mod? I'll be checking whether I installed it correctly, right now.

Edit What mod versions are we using, anyways? I have worthy heroes 1.7 and wh1.7b. I had the complete cb mod 1.00, but the link above pointed to 1.1, which I didn't know was out. Sorry for all the trouble.

Edit: I'm good now, I installed 1.1. I didn't get a nerf message, and am not worrying about my pretender. I feel no need to restart, but am willing to go do whatever. As long as it isn't before turn 6, then I'll have to think about it.

Turn done.

Burnsaber June 22nd, 2007 04:10 AM

Re: Veturi - LA (Looking for Players)

Ok, I'm fine now too.

All hail the mighty Ferrosoil, the bearer of good gifts!

I'm not against restarting. We are after all in turn 1, it would only be a delay of only one day.

(althought I'm really liking my starting position.)

Lazy_Perfectionist June 23rd, 2007 01:18 AM

Re: Veturi - LA (Looking for Players)

As I'm the only player yet to complete the current turn, I'll go ahead, do this one, and the next, a few minutes later.

I've already stated my position on restarting, (ie I have no opinion, until fall arrives and I regret doing something stupid with my commanders, or have found this like totally awesome site, dude).

Re: Veturi - LA (Looking for Players)

Veturi 7/7 1d 23h 35m 1s since last hosting

Is this just the expected delay of the 23 taking a little longer than expected? If so, I'm fine with that. Just want to know if we'll be back to a 24 hour host soon.

Will host the game as soon as i get home (+-5 hours). I was planning on coming home last night but didn't really feel i was fit to drive.

Re: Veturi - LA (Looking for Players)

The noble nation of C'tis is willing to make a trade.

Our nation needs 5 earth gems and C'tis offers either 70 gold or 5 death gems for them. a genereous offer, as you can see. I will send payment as soon as I have received the gems, this I swear upon the name of my god Raiptur, King of Disease.

Yours sincerely,
Eshmun, prophet of Raiptur

(Send me a forum PM first thought, first one to do so will get the deal. I'll send you a confirmation PM)

Re: Veturi - LA (Looking for Players)

I see dead people. They make me nervous. I don't wish for war with Ermor anytime soon, but I may be facing it nonetheless. In the two adjacent provinces, they outnumber my forces 2 to 1. On the other hand, all my mages are priests, but I'd rather be doing other things with them than waging war. I've got two flanks to protect, secure, and sites to uncover. I wouldn't mind saving up for forts, either.

Re: Veturi - LA (Looking for Players)

I've been having some trouble with my home (read gaming) Internet connection today, before leaving for work. We'll see if I cannot resolve it tomorrow, or if it has fixed itself. Not asking for any particular action right now, just an FYI I will follow up on.

Do let me know if I you got my message. I'm not sure whether I got my turn in on time. Thank you. How would I tell, by the way?

Damn... I think I missed it by all of five seconds. "Your connection is lost". The turn is hosting in five seconds. BAH!

For personal reference, NAP signed roughly around spring, year 2. I should keep a personal log of messages, rather than depend on my memory, but it's to late for most right now.

Re: Veturi - LA (Looking for Players)

Just got back home and server is up again.

Lightning hit the powerlines yesterday and took the city down for an hour or so. After the third time the power went out my UPS decided that it didnt want to play anymore.

Also try to use the IP if you cant seem to get a connection. dominions3.dy.fi is setup with dyndns service so its far from reliable and i only have it up just so people can acces the server better in blitz games and such.
