Player assignments out Monday
Hello:
I am waiting on one player for his nation preferences. I expect to hear back from him soon and will shoot to put up the list of nation assignments by Monday night. Hopefully, we can get the game started Tuesday night (Boston time). Pasha |
Name change
The game name has been changed to HYDRANT.
That could stand for several things, as suggested by Caduceus, QM, shovah, Morkilus and myself: Hitherto Yon Daft Radiant And Naetherworldly Tyrants Hellbound Young Dominions-playing Raving Angry Nerds of Tomorrow Hyperactive youngsters drown rabid angry northern turkeys Horrible Yonder Dragons Raging And Not Tasty How Y'all Dripped Really Awful Nether Tea Heaven Yields Dangerously Radiant and Narcotic Thunderbolts How your doctor reads all naughty things |
Re: Name change
Half your descriptions resemble actually nothing thoughtful. Have you dimwit really applied no thought?
|
Re: Name change
I vote for the fourth description
|
Re: Name change
Darn - an I though HYDRANT would stand for "Hippopotamus yuks dumfoundly: rhinoceroses adjudicate national terror!" - but it seems that I was wrong. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
Looking forward to the game ... thanks for hosting, Pasha. |

|
Re: Name change
HYDRANTNAMIGS?
|
Re: Name change
Hydrants,.. you don't really allow next to nothing and my intuition never granted sufficiently accurate lexical layout,... didn't anyone muddle nothing, didn't alla you, before? I totally cheat, however evil (it) seems.
(I was really reaching there, what a mess). |
Re: Name change
HYDRANT yields directly recursive acronyms noobies typeset

Re: Name change
Hi CUnknown!
I did not hear back from you and was such an eager beaver, I invited other players in your stead. I hope you'll be interested in playing next time. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif I moved Marignon over to France so they would be closer to Ermor and provide some excellent Inquisitor on Wraithlord Action! Plus, I think Marignon is inspired by Southern France somehow. I think I read that in a post by K.O. So, I needed someone to be in Spain, and there was no room to stick Eriu in Ireland, when Man was in Britain. But, you're right. Eriu is not the perfect fit for Spain. Pasha |
Re: Name change
Maringnon is more italian/papal inquisiton in MA and becomes more spanish convert the heretics in LA so you could probably make an arguement for putting them either way personally I would put them in the southern France/Northen Spain kind of region

Nation assignments
Hello:
Here are the nation assignments: Abysia - Pashadawg Agartha - Ygorl Arco - Caduceus Atlantis - Quantum Mechani C'Tis - Atul Eriu - Bluebird Ermor - Morkilus Jotunheim - Jurri Man - Dakar Marignon - Ferrosol Oceania - Ramshead Pangaea - Migaaresno Pythium - Wahnsinniger Ulm - Ewierl Vanheim - Boron I am happy to say that I think everyone got their first or second choice! Let's start the game on Wednesday night. That will give everyone a chance to get the map and, perhaps, get the lay of the land with a test game or two, before committing to a final pretender. Don't forget to use the modified .map file I sent yesterday. When creating your pretender, be sure to have the Complete Conceptual Balance Mod 1.1 activated. Otherwise, your pretender will not work. Also, when you send me your pretender, it will be a .2h file in the "newlords" folder. Please send me your pretender files by Wednesday, August 1, 2007, at 9:00 p.m. Boston time. Hosting deadlines will generally be at 9:00 p.m. Boston time consistently. If you ever need an extension, please just ask. They will be granted liberally. However, if I don't hear from you, then you might get a stale turn. Please include "Hydrant" in the subject line of all email correspondence about the game. I use an email filter to help me keep track of turns. Finally, if you need to go out of town and will miss turns, please try to get a sub to fill in for you. That way, the game won't be held up. Thank you. |
Missing Pretenders
Hello:
We start the game tonight! If you have not sent me your pretender yet, then please do so by 9:00 p.m. Boston time tonight (Wednesday). I have *not* received pretender files from: Agartha Atlantis Jotunheim Man Vanheim (Players are also free to send changes up until we start.) Thank you. Pasha |
Re: Missing Pretenders
just to confirm Boston time is GMT-4 right?
|
Re: Missing Pretenders
Yes. Boston is GMT-4 until November 4 at 2:00 a.m., when Daylight Savings Time ends. Then it will be GMT-5.
Here is a link for convenience: Boston Time |
Turn 1
Turn 1 is sent.
Deadline is Thursday, Aug. 2 at 9:00 p.m. Boston time. Pasha |
Re: Turn 1
Haven't received turn yet. 12:53 EST
And I have a meeting tonight, so likely will not be home before 21:00 EST. |
Re: Turn 1
Sent again. I won't stale you. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
|
Re: Turn 2
Turn 2 is out.
Deadline is Friday night at 9:00 pm Boston time. |
Re: Turn 2
Yuck, what a start.
|
Re: Turn 2
Unlucky event or just don't it in Spain?
|
Re: Turn 2
Eriu's army got quite a hit, being brave didn't pay it this time or something? Probably not as bad a start as some nations, Arco took quite an income hit as did Ermor. Jotun's flying, but that probably doesn't surprise anyone.
Me, personally, curse the good quality of indies around me, since they do hamper my future expansion but contribute nothing due to getting diseased. Crossbows all around when you don't want 'em, but nowhere to be found when you do. |
Re: Turn 2
Gotta be one real unlucky event to kill your starting army http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
EDIT: How come Jotun flying doesn't surprise anyone? Have I become, oh no... predictable? |
Re: Turn 2
The propaganda machine begins already?
I did get a bad event, but it's not THAT bad. Just a couple bad omens... it does hurt the income, though. |
Re: Turn 2
No propaganda machine, just reporting from C'NN (C'tis News Network) to pass some time of yours truly. Since the Graphs are On, everyone knows Facts don't Lie, so we much try Twice as Hard! C'NN, unfair and biased, soon to spam your thread a lot more!
And luckily no-one's superstitious, otherwise bad omens at the earliest possible moments wouldn't be scoffed at! |
Re: Turn 3
Turn 3 is out.
Deadline is Saturday at 9:00 p.m. Boston time. |
Re: Turn 3
Have your demons reached all nine tiers?

Re: Turn 3 - Due Sunday
Hello:
I just realized that I am leaving town this afternoon and will return tomorrow. So, I won't be able to host tonight's turn. Thus, the turn deadline is hereby extended to Sunday night. Sorry about the delay. Pasha |
Re: Turn 3 - Due Sunday
Did anybody else not get Turn 3?
|
Re: Turn 3 - Due Sunday
Morkilus, I have not received several turns, though I thought it was my email service.
So, Turn 3 will be due Sunday night at 9PM Boston? Great. I'll be back in town by then, myself http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif |
Re: Turn 3 - Due Sunday
Hi Morkilus:
I double checked, and the email was sent and did not bounce back. I sent the file again. I will say that I have had a lot of emails (maybe 5) bounce back in the last couple of days, which is unusual. Pasha |
Re: Turn 3 - Due Sunday
I suck.
More precisely, I can't connect to my email and probably won't be able until the university network admins return to work after the weekend. So, for next day or two, I read only my secondary email. Same first part of the address as in my tkk.fi email, only the end is @gmail.com. Confusing enough? Sorry. |
Re: Turn 3 - Due Sunday
Ok, Atul.
I have the gmail address for you, too, and will send turns to that address as well until further notice from you. It's easy for me to send to both. I already have C'Tis's turn 3, so it won't delay tonight's hosting the next turn. Pasha |
Re: Turn 3 - Due Sunday
Great, Pasha, thanks. And sorry for trouble.
In other News, heretic brigand infestations have affected holy delta of C'tis. In response, the benevolent ruler did not rouse his troops and oppress everyone voicing their concerns. Instead he's decided to lower taxes to help his people overcome the daily difficulties. So, although this benevolence can be seen in the graphs as income loss and wrongly interpreted as weakness by rival nations, we citizens can only ask in awe: IS HE NOT MERCIFUL? -C'NN |
