Does the Cyclops get reinvigoration from an

Earth bless?

A test game didn't seem to have it getting any reinvigoration at all.

Or regeneration from nature for that matter.

Well it isn't sacred so it can't be blessed. Your god does not benefit from your bless. I don't even think shrouds of the battle saint work on pretenders, though I'm not sure.

Re: Does the Cyclops get reinvigoration from an

Mages gain passive benefits of their path levels I believe.

+1 defense per lvl of water
E - +1 Prot
N - unsure
B - +1 str?
D - unusure
A - +1 precision
F - +1 attack
S - unsure

AFAIK

Edit (there's probably already a list out there somewhere though)

F - +1 Atk/lvl
A - +1 prec/lvl
W - +1 Def/lvl
E - +1 prot/lvl
S - Unknown
N - Increases max age, +10 supply/lvl, increased regen affect from cast spells (mechanics?)
D - Boosts fear (mechanics?), reduces old age afflications (mechanics?)
B - Assists in blood hunting (mechanics?)

Death reduces your chance of getting old age afflictions and boosts fear if you have it/gives you fear when you get enough death magic.

I think blood just helps with blood hunting.
Nature increases max age(or is it reduces your age..) and boosts how much regeneration you can get from spells you cast.

I don't know if astral does anything but it offers mind hunt protection.

Just checked a rainbow, seems that the only obvious affects are for

E, F, A

Didn't see a notation for W,B,N,D

Although Nature could be seen as giving supply/increased max age.

Water may give extra AP but unsure and haven't checked

Water gives +1 defence per level.

Nature and death, as far as I can tell, give the effects I listed. Although I did forget about the supply bonus from nature.

Your god doesn't get your bless?

That's harsh.

Ok.

I saw the prophet with the bless and just assumed the Pretender got it to.

Re: Does the Cyclops get reinvigoration from an

Prophets get the bless because they are automatically blessed at all times. Apart from them and commanders with shrouds of the battle saint(S1 and 5 pearls but takes up the body slot) only sacred units which are blessed in battle can gain the effects of your blessing.

Shrouds of the battle saint can be very useful on mages or valuable commanders:
A bless like twist fate is great protection from remote spells, even N4 stops mages losing health from afflictions, a death bless means remote attack spells can cripple enemy armies and minor astral gives the ever-useful magic-resistace boosts.

Also, your god benefitting from your bless would be insanely powerful for example an E9 cyclops has 29 protection. Add some reasonable armour and an E9 bless to that+the reinvigoration from the bless and summon earthpower+nature bless regeneration and you have an almost unkillable early game SC with a powerful bless(good for sacreds like Lankas and Niefelheims).

He would have insane protection(29+1 from summon earthpower+more from E9 bless and armour), huge regeneration(high health+Nature bless), 8 reinvigoration(4 bless+4 summon earthpower, can add more with items) and E10 to cast spells like bladewind.

Mages(including pretenders) already gain the previously mentioned passive benefits from their magic, adding the bless to a god would just be a bit too much.

Paths on the mage (pretender included) also boost leadership. I don't know the exact numbers offhand; it's in the manual, which isn't with me atm.

S: + magic leadership
F: + normal leadership
B, D: + undead leadership

Astral gives you more MR.

Shovah32 October 28th, 2007 04:46 PM

Re: Does the Cyclops get reinvigoration from an

I am almost certain that astral does not give you extra MR. It is true that the majority of units with astral magic have high MR but if you check their MR the high number is listed as a base, not a number below that with a magic-bonus listed.
Also, a pretender with S10 still only gets 18MR in neutral dominion.

The bless gives MR, but not to the mage iirc(unless he is blessed, of course).

Re: Does the Cyclops get reinvigoration from an

Astral gives you more MR up to a limit of 18, after which it has no effect. It also gives more magic leadership (all paths do, but astral more so).

I just did a quick test and, unless empowered astral magic doesn't count, this does not seem to be the case.
3 levels of empowered astral magic resulted in a 14MR commander - exactly the same MR as he had with 0 astral magic.

Pretenders do not get bless effect even wearing sacred items.

If you God has a natural chill aura then every level of water magic will add one to it's power. Just a function of Breath of Winter and Water magic, but it can help. Same with fire magic and heat/fire shield.
