LlamaServer - all fixed :)

Hi all,

The website for the LlamaServer is down, the provider having been hacked apparently. But the server itself is STILL RUNNING. So please continue to play as normal.

I'm not sure if I should postpone hostings or anything. There is no need to, as the games will continue to run as normal. The website may be down for a couple of days though apparently.

Game admins - please PM me if you want hostings postponed, or if there's any other admin that needs doing.

you have internets at home now?

Yes!! Hurrah! We got it last Tuesday, ironically just after I started my No Internet Week.

I have just set all the reminder times to 6 hours (i.e. it reminds you 6 hours before hosting), to reduce the danger of people missing their turns because they didn't realise the server was still working.

I had it set to one of my two homepages, so...

Llamaserver website just back up now.

Webpage not synchronized with server.
Emails get through, turns host with regular time and all. Email states proper times.

Okay, all fixed. Thanks for your alertness LP, if it weren't for you I wouldn't have realised it was back up!

Hello

Yesterday during down time some players sent their pretenders for PuntaDeLanza game and though they recieved the confirmation mail they did not appear in the nation list.

I supposed this had to do with the server state, but now, with the server up, we still have the same problem, players are sending pretenders, reciving confirmation mails and the nation list still does not update.

Thanks. Not sure why that happened. Fixed now though.

"The LlamaServer seems to be having difficulty reaching its mail server at the moment."

Does this mean that it's really having difficulty reaching its mail server and that it'll really postpone turns, or what?

Re: LlamaServer - still running, though site down

Yep - genuine and unrelated error, and it'll really postpone hostings so no-one stales.

I think there is a problem with llamaserver - seems to have sent random turns for all games at about 11:20 (GMT)

Re: LlamaServer - still running, though site down

Er, oh dear. Yep, it looks like it hosted every single game. Oh man http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif - this is going to take a while to fix.

LlamaServer - stuff

Not to mention that it claims, on Mongoose, that the turn is 52 rather than 65 which it should be if the turn was hosted (which it is in-game, but isn't on the site). If I remember correctly, the time when things went wrong last time (as in, the thing hosted twice) was turn 52 for us.

Crazy stuff. :/

Re: LlamaServer - stuff

Yep, pretty crazy. Hopefully you just got an e-mail from me explaining it. Really bizarre.

Re: LlamaServer - stuff

Bizarre indeed,
However i have a question

In moongoose he sent email claiming it to be turn 52, however if you put the file it sent in your dom3 directory and play it it says it's turn 65 (the next turn)and it seems all moves done in 64 are carrying fine

So i am asking shall i RE-send turn 64 or just play turn 65(sent mispelled by turn 52) ?

llamabeast November 1st, 2007 01:58 PM

Re: LlamaServer - stuff

You have to RE-send turn 64.

Although your moves may have been carried out correctly, not all players had taken their move, so you have to wait for them.

Re: LlamaServer - stuff

Thanks for clarifying it llamabeast http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
Turn resent ! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

However regarding moongoose brigandscary (pangaea) said he would be away till . .saturday/sunday , he did send turn 64 before this mess, any chance u can get his turn and feed it into the server ?

Likely there will be a need to postpone next turn too

Re: LlamaServer - stuff

Thanks for telling me about that (Sensori sent me a PM too - you're both very on the ball!). Sorted.
